< Lamentations 3 >
1 I am the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
Èmi ni ọkùnrin tí ó rí ìpọ́njú pẹ̀lú ọ̀pá ìbínú rẹ.
2 He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
Ó ti lé mi jáde ó sì mú mi rìn nínú òkùnkùn ju ti ìmọ́lẹ̀.
3 Surely against me he turns his hand again and again all the day.
Nítòótọ́, ó ti yí ọwọ́ rẹ̀ padà sí mi síwájú àti síwájú sí i ní gbogbo ọjọ́.
4 My flesh and my skin he has made old; he has broken my bones.
Ó jẹ́ kí àwọ̀ mi àti ẹran-ara mi gbó ó sì tún ṣẹ́ egungun mi.
5 He has built against me, and surrounded me with bitterness and hardship.
Ó ti fi mí sí ìgbèkùn, ó sì ti yí mi ká pẹ̀lú ìkorò àti làálàá.
6 He has made me to dwell in dark places, like those that have been long dead.
Ó mú mi gbé nínú òkùnkùn, bí ti àwọn tó ti kú fún ìgbà pípẹ́.
7 He has walled me in, so I can't escape; he has made my chains heavy.
Ó ti tì mí mọ́ ilé, nítorí náà n kò le è sálọ; ó ti fi ẹ̀wọ̀n mú mi mọ́lẹ̀.
8 Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.
Pàápàá nígbà tí mo ké fún ìrànlọ́wọ́, ó kọ àdúrà mi.
9 He has walled up my ways with cut stone; he has made my paths crooked.
Ó fi ògiri òkúta dí ọ̀nà mi; ó sì mú ọ̀nà mi wọ́.
10 He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in hiding.
Bí i beari tí ó dùbúlẹ̀, bí i kìnnìún tí ó sá pamọ́.
11 He has obstructed my path, and torn me in pieces; he has made me desolate.
Ó wọ́ mi kúrò ní ọ̀nà, ó tẹ̀ mí mọ́lẹ̀ ó fi mi sílẹ̀ láìsí ìrànlọ́wọ́.
12 He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
Ó fa ọfà rẹ̀ yọ ó sì fi mí ṣe ohun ìtafàsí.
13 He has caused the arrows of his quiver to pierce my inward parts.
Ó fa ọkàn mí ya pẹ̀lú ọfà nínú àkọ̀ rẹ̀.
14 I have become a laughingstock to all peoples, and their song all the day.
Mo di ẹni yẹ̀yẹ́ láàrín àwọn ènìyàn mi; wọn yẹ̀yẹ́ mi pẹ̀lú orin ní gbogbo ọjọ́.
15 He has filled me with bitterness, he has given me in full measure wormwood.
Ó ti kún mi pẹ̀lú ewé kíkorò àti ìdààmú bí omi.
16 He has also broken my teeth with gravel; he has pressed me down in the dust.
Ó ti fi òkúta kán eyín mi; ó ti tẹ̀ mí mọ́lẹ̀ nínú eruku.
17 You have removed my soul far away from peace; I have forgotten what prosperity is.
Mo ti jìnnà sí àlàáfíà; mo ti gbàgbé ohun tí àṣeyege ń ṣe.
18 And I said, "My strength and my hope has perished from Jehovah."
Nítorí náà mo wí pé, “Ògo mi ti lọ àti ìrètí mi nínú Olúwa.”
19 Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
Mo ṣe ìrántí ìpọ́njú àti ìdààmú mi, ìkorò àti ìbànújẹ́.
20 My soul considers them, and is depressed.
Mo ṣèrántí wọn, ọkàn mi sì gbọgbẹ́ nínú mi.
21 But this I call to my mind; therefore I have hope:
Síbẹ̀, èyí ni mo ní ní ọkàn àti nítorí náà ní mo nírètí.
22 Jehovah's faithful love does not cease; his compassion does not fail.
Nítorí ìfẹ́ Olúwa tí ó lágbára ni àwa kò fi ṣègbé, nítorí ti àánú rẹ kì í kùnà.
23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Wọ́n jẹ́ ọ̀tún ní àárọ̀; títóbi ni òdodo rẹ̀.
24 "Jehovah is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."
Mo wí fún ara mi, ìpín mi ni Olúwa; nítorí náà èmi yóò dúró dè ọ́.
25 Jehovah is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
Dídára ni Olúwa fún àwọn tí ó ní ìrètí nínú rẹ̀, sí àwọn tí ó ń wá a.
26 It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.
Ó dára kí a ní sùúrù fún ìgbàlà Olúwa.
27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke while he is young.
Ó dára fún ènìyàn láti gbé àjàgà nígbà tí ó wà ní èwe.
28 Let him sit alone and keep silence when he is disciplining him.
Jẹ́ kí ó jókòó ní ìdákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́, nítorí Olúwa ti fi fún un.
29 Let him put his mouth to the dust, there may yet be hope.
Jẹ́ kí ó bo ojú rẹ̀ sínú eruku— ìrètí sì lè wà.
30 Let him give his cheek to him who strikes him; let him be filled with insults.
Jẹ́ kí ó fi ẹ̀rẹ̀kẹ́ fún àwọn tí yóò gbá a, sì jẹ́ kí ó wà ní ìdójútì.
31 For Jehovah will not reject forever.
Ènìyàn kò di ìtanù lọ́dọ̀ Olúwa títí láé.
32 For though he may cause grief, yet he will have compassion according to the abundance of his loving kindness.
Lóòtítọ́ ó mú ìbànújẹ́ wá, yóò fi àánú hàn, nítorí títóbi ni ìfẹ́ rẹ̀.
33 For he is not predisposed to bring affliction or suffering to human beings.
Nítorí kò mọ̀ ọ́n mọ̀ mú ìpọ́njú wá tàbí ìrora wá fún ọmọ ènìyàn.
34 To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth;
Láti tẹ mọ́lẹ̀ lábẹ́ ẹsẹ̀ gbogbo àwọn ẹlẹ́wọ̀n ní ilẹ̀ náà.
35 to deprive a man of justice before the face of the Most High,
Láti ṣẹ́ ọmọ ènìyàn fún ẹ̀tọ́ rẹ̀ níwájú Ọ̀gá-ògo jùlọ,
36 to subvert a man in his cause, Jehovah does not approve.
láti yí ìdájọ́ ènìyàn padà, ǹjẹ́ Olúwa kò rí ohun bẹ́ẹ̀.
37 Who can speak a thing and have it come to pass, unless Jehovah has commanded it?
Ta ni yóò sọ̀rọ̀ tí yóò rí bẹ́ẹ̀ tí Olúwa kò bá fi àṣẹ sí i.
38 Doesn't both calamity and good come out of the mouth of the Most High?
Ǹjẹ́ kì í ṣe láti ẹnu Ọ̀gá-ògo jùlọ ni rere àti búburú tí ń wá?
39 Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
Kí ló dé tí ẹ̀dá alààyè ṣe ń kùn nígbà tí ó bá ń jìyà ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀?
40 Let us examine and search our ways, and return to Jehovah.
Ẹ jẹ́ kí a yẹ ọ̀nà wa, kí a sì dán an wò, kí a sì tọ Olúwa lọ.
41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in the heavens.
Ẹ jẹ́ kí a gbé ọkàn àti ọwọ́ wa sókè sí Ọlọ́run ní ọ̀run, kí a wí pé,
42 We have transgressed and have rebelled, and you have not forgiven.
“Àwa ti ṣẹ̀ a sì ti ṣọ̀tẹ̀ ìwọ kò sì fi ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wa jì wá.
43 You have covered yourself with anger and pursued us; you killed without sparing.
“Ìwọ fi ìbínú bo ara rẹ ìwọ sì ń lépa wa; ìwọ ń parun láìsí àánú.
44 You have covered yourself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.
Ìwọ ti fi àwọsánmọ̀ bo ara rẹ pé kí àdúrà wa má ba à dé ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ.
45 You have made us rubbish and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
Ó ti sọ wá di èérí àti ààtàn láàrín orílẹ̀-èdè gbogbo.
46 All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.
“Gbogbo àwọn ọ̀tá wa ti la ẹnu wọn gbòòrò sí wa.
47 Fear and the pit have come on us, devastation and destruction.
Àwa ti jìyà àti ìparun, nínú ìbẹ̀rù àti ewu.”
48 Streams of tears run down from my eyes because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Omijé ń sàn ní ojú mi bí odò nítorí a pa àwọn ènìyàn mi run.
49 My tears flow and do not cease, without respite,
Ojú mi kò dá fún omijé, láì sinmi,
50 until Jehovah looks down and sees from heaven.
títí ìgbà tí Olúwa yóò síjú wolẹ̀ láti òkè ọ̀run tí yóò sì rí i.
51 My eyes bring my soul grief, because of all the daughters of my city.
Ohun tí mo rí mú ìbẹ̀rù wá ọkàn mi nítorí gbogbo àwọn obìnrin ìlú mi.
52 They have chased me relentlessly like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause.
Àwọn tí ó jẹ́ ọ̀tá mi láìnídìí dẹ mí bí ẹyẹ.
53 They have cut off my life in a pit, and have cast a stone on me.
Wọ́n gbìyànjú láti mú òpin dé bá ayé mi nínú ihò wọ́n sì ju òkúta lù mí.
54 Waters flowed over my head; I said, 'I am finished.'
Orí mi kún fún omi, mo sì rò pé ìgbẹ̀yìn dé.
55 I called on your name, Jehovah, out of the depths of the pit.
Mo pe orúkọ rẹ, Olúwa, láti ọ̀gbun ìsàlẹ̀ ihò.
56 You heard my voice; do not hide your ear at my sighs, to my cry.
Ìwọ gbọ́ ẹ̀bẹ̀ mi, “Má ṣe di etí rẹ sí igbe ẹ̀bẹ̀ mi fún ìtura.”
57 You drew near in the day that I called on you; you said, "Do not be afraid."
O wá tòsí nígbà tí mo ké pè ọ́, o sì wí pé, “Má ṣe bẹ̀rù.”
58 Jehovah, you have taken up the case for my soul; you have redeemed my life.
Olúwa, ìwọ gba ẹjọ́ mi rò, o ra ẹ̀mí mi padà.
59 You have seen, Jehovah, the wrong done to me; judge my case.
O ti rí i, Olúwa, búburú tí a ṣe sí mi. Gba ẹjọ́ mi ró!
60 You have seen all their vengeance and all their plots against me.
Ìwọ ti rí ọ̀gbun ẹ̀san wọn, gbogbo ìmọ̀ wọn sí mi.
61 You have heard their insults, Jehovah, and all their plots against me.
Olúwa ìwọ ti gbọ́ ẹ̀gàn wọn àti ìmọ̀ búburú wọn sí mi,
62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their plots against me all day long.
ohun tí àwọn ọ̀tá mi ń sọ sí mi ní gbogbo ọjọ́.
63 Look their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their mocking song.
Wò wọ́n! Ní jíjòkòó tàbí ní dídìde, wọ́n ń ṣẹlẹ́yà mi nínú orin wọn.
64 You will render to them what they deserve, Jehovah, according to the work of their hands.
Olúwa san wọ́n lẹ́san ohun tí ó tọ́ sí wọn fún ohun tí ọwọ́ wọn ti ṣe.
65 You will give them hardness of heart as your curse to them.
Fi ìbòjú bò wọ́n ní ọkàn, kí o sì fi wọ́n ré.
66 You will pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Jehovah.
Ni wọ́n lára kí o sì pa wọ́n run pẹ̀lú ìbínú, lábẹ́ ọ̀run Olúwa.
