< Lamentations 3 >
1 I am the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
Kai teh nama e lungkhueknae dawk reithai rucatnae ka kâhmo e tami lah ka o.
2 He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
Kai hah na pâlei teh angnae dawk laipalah hmonae dawk na cei sak.
3 Surely against me he turns his hand again and again all the day.
Atangcalah, kai hah hnin touh thung a kut hoiyah na pakhuppathan.
4 My flesh and my skin he has made old; he has broken my bones.
Ka tak hoi ka vuennaw a hmawn sak teh, ka hrunaw hah a khoe.
5 He has built against me, and surrounded me with bitterness and hardship.
Kai koe lah na rakhan teh reithai rucatnae hoi na kalup.
6 He has made me to dwell in dark places, like those that have been long dead.
Ka dout tangcoungnaw patetlah a hmonae thung na o sak.
7 He has walled me in, so I can't escape; he has made my chains heavy.
Na paung teh karipoung e rui hoi kahlout thai hoeh nahanlah na katek.
8 Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.
Hramki hoi ka ka teh, pahrennae ka kâhei nakunghai, ka ratoumnae hah na coe pouh hoeh.
9 He has walled up my ways with cut stone; he has made my paths crooked.
Ka lamthung hai talung a e hoi na khan pouh. Ka lamthung a longkawi sak.
10 He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in hiding.
Kai na ka pawm e tavom patetlah kâhronae dawk kaawm e sendek patetlah na o sak.
11 He has obstructed my path, and torn me in pieces; he has made me desolate.
Ka lamthung na phen sak teh, kai hah thawkthawk na raboung. Kângue han awm laipalah na o sak.
12 He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
