Jonah 2
1 Then Jonah prayed to Jehovah, his God, out of the fish's belly.
És imádkozott Jóna az Örökkévalóhoz, az ő Istenéhez, a halnak beleiből.
2 He said, "I called because of my affliction to Jehovah. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
Mondta: Szólítottam szorultságomból az Örökkévalót és meghallgatott engem; az alvilág méhéből fohászkodtam, hallottad szavamat. (Sheol h7585)
3 For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your breakers and waves passed over me.
Bedobtál engem mélységbe, a tengerek szívébe, s folyam vett körül engem; mind a habjaid és hullámaid átvonultak rajtam!
4 I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.'
Én azt mondtam volt: elűzettem a to szemeid elől; ugyan megpillanthatom-e még szent templomodat?
5 The waters surrounded me, threatening my life. The deep was around me. The end is upon my head.
Vizek körülfogtak engem lelkemig, ár vett engem körül; nád fonódik a fejemhez.
6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever: yet have you brought up my life from the pit, Jehovah my God.
Hegyek fenekéig szálltam alá, a földnek reteszei elzártak engem örökre, de felhoztad a veremből életemet, Örökkévaló, én Istenem!
7 "When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple.
Mikor bágyadozott bennem a lelkem, az Örökkévalóra gondoltam – és eljutott hozzád imádságom, a te szent templomodhoz.
8 Those who regard worthless things forsake their faithfulness.
Akik őrizgetnek hamis hiábavalóságokat, szeretetüket hagyják el.
9 But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Jehovah."
Én pedig a hála szavával áldozni akarok neked, a mit fogadtam, meg akarom fizetni – a segítség az Örökkévalóé!
10 Jehovah spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.
És szólt az Örökkévaló a halnak, és kiköpte Jónát a szárazföldre.
