< Jeremiah 24 >

1 Jehovah showed me, and look, two baskets of figs set before Jehovah's temple, after that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the officials of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
Babylon manghai Nebukhanezar loh Judah manghai Jehoiakim capa Jekoniah neh Judah mangpa rhoek te a poelyoe tih Jerusalem lamkah kutthai neh thidae te Babylon la a khuen phoeiah BOEIPA bawkim hmai kah voh rhoi dongah thaibu thaih a khueh te BOEIPA loh kai tarha n'tueng.
2 One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first-ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
Voh khat dongkah thaibu thaih tah thaibu thaihloe bangla bahoeng then. Voh pakhat dongkah thaibu thaih tah a thaenah khui lamloh caak pawt ham hil bahoeng thae.
3 Then Jehovah said to me, "What do you see, Jeremiah?" I said, "Figs; the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, that can't be eaten, they are so bad."
Te vaengah BOEIPA loh kai taengah, “Jeremiah balae na hmuh,” a ti. Te dongah, “Thaibu thaibu rhoe mah aka then tah bahoeng then tih aka thae tah a thae uet ah a thaenah lamloh caak la lo pawh,” ka ti tah.
4 The word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
Te vaengah BOEIPA ol tah kai taengah ha pawk tih,
5 "Thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel: 'Like these good figs, so will I regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good.
“He tah Israel Pathen BOEIPA long ni a thui. He kah thaibu then bangla Judah hlangsol te ka hmat van. Te khaw he hmuen lamloh Khalden khohmuen ah a then lam ni ka tueih.
6 For I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

8 As the bad figs, which can't be eaten, they are so bad, surely thus says Jehovah, 'So will I give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his officials, and the remnant of Jerusalem, who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt,
Tedae thaibu aka thae bangla a thaenah lamloh a caak thai pawt te BOEIPA loh, “Judah manghai Zedekiah neh a mangpa rhoek taengah khaw, he khohmuen ah aka sueng Jerusalem kah a meet rhoek taengah khaw, Egypt kho kah khosa rhoek taengah khaw ka khueh van ni.
9 I will make them a horror, an evil thing, to all the kingdoms of the earth, as a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them.
