< James 3 >

1 Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment.
Ka manuca rhoek, saya la muep om uh boeh. Laitloeknah tanglue n'dang uh ni tila ming uh.
2 For in many things we all stumble. If anyone does not stumble in word, this one is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
Hlang boeih loh muep m'paloe uh coeng. Khat khat loh olka dongah a tongtah pawt atah, anih tah hlang lungcuei coeng ni. A pum tom khaw a tuem hamla coeng thai ni.
3 Now if we put bits into the horses' mouths so that they may obey us, we guide their whole body.
Marhang ka khuila kamrhui ng'khueh pah daengah ni amih te mamih taengah naem sak eh. Te phoeiah ni a pum tom khaw n'hoihaeng sak pueng.
4 And look at the ships also, though they are so big and are driven by fierce winds, are yet guided by a very small rudder, wherever the pilot desires.
Sangpho khaw ke, te tluk aih la om tih khohli puei loh a yawn mai. Lawngkaih ca neh a hoihaeng vaengah thathohnah loh a ngaih bangla a dueng sak.
5 So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest.
Lai khaw a pumrho a yit la om dae muep hoem van. Hmai pom loh duup puei a dom coeng ke.
6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by hell. (Geenna g1067)
Lai tah hmai ni, boethae kah Diklai ni. Lai tah mamih pumrho lamkah hmoel uh coeng. Te long te pum tom a nook tih, a rhuirhong a yung a pa te a hlup tih hell neh a hoeh. (Geenna g1067)
7 For all kinds of animals, and birds, of reptiles and sea creatures, are being tamed and have been tamed by humankind.
Satlung neh vaa kah a hui boeih, rhulcai neh tuisu khaw a mong vanbangla hlanghing coengnah te khaw a mong sak.
8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
Tedae lai he hlang kah a mong sak thai koi moenih. Boethae likloek, duek sue hoeng ni.
9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people, who are made in the image of God.
Te nen te Boeipa neh pa te ng'uem uh tih, te nen Pathen kah suisak la a saii hlang rhoek te thae m'phoei uh.
10 Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
Ka amah lamkah yoethennah neh rhunkhuennah khaw thoeng. Ka manuca rhoek, a tueng pawt lam ni a om tangkuet te.
11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water?
Tuisih te a khui pakhat lamloh a didip neh a thanghap phuet sak pawt maco.
12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Nor is salt water able to produce sweet.
Ka manuca rhoek, thaibu loh olive, misur loh thaibu cuen sak thai pawt maco. A al loh tui te didip la a poeh sak moenih.
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
Nangmih khuiah, aka cueih tih aka thaai te unim? A bisai te omih then neh, cueihnah te muelhtuetnah neh tueng sak saeh.
14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and do not lie against the truth.
Na thinko khuiah thatlainah a thanghap neh koevoeinah na khueh uh atah, oltak te na koevoei thil, na laithae uh thil moenih a?
15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.
Tekah cueihnah tah a so lamkah aka suntla la om pawt tih, diklai rhaithae kah a coengnah ni.
16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
Thatlainah neh koevoeinah a om nah ah soekloeknah neh hno thae cungkuem om.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy.
Tedae a so lamkah cueihnah tah lamhma tih cuem, te dongah ngaimong la, kodo la, mongkawt la om. Rhennah thaih then neh baetawt tih hmantang ah tangyah pawh.
18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Duengnah kah a thaih tah rhoepnah neh aka tuh long ni rhoepnah a saii.
