< Hebrews 5 >
1 For every high priest, being taken from among people, is appointed for people in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
Konojel kꞌu ri kinimaꞌqil ri e chꞌawenelabꞌ cho ri Dios, chikixoꞌl ri achyabꞌ kechaꞌ wi rech jeriꞌ kakitzuj sipanik cho ri Dios rumal ri makaj.
2 The high priest can deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because he himself is also surrounded with weakness.
Rech jeriꞌ ri Dios kutoqꞌobꞌisaj kiwach ri man kꞌo ta ketaꞌmabꞌal xuqujeꞌ ri e sachinaq kanoq, rumal kuchomaj chi ri winaq e junam rukꞌ areꞌ man kꞌo ta kichuqꞌabꞌ.
3 Because of this, he must offer sacrifices for sins for the people, as well as for himself.
Rumal riꞌ, rajawaxik wi chi ri chꞌawenel cho ri Dios kutzuj sipanik cho ri Dios rumal ri umak xuqujeꞌ rumal ri kimak ri tinimit.
4 Nobody takes this honor on himself, but he is called by God, just like Aaron was.
Man kꞌo ta jun chike ri achyabꞌ ri xaq pa rech wi kukꞌam ri patanijik rech kux chꞌawenel cho ri Dios pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq, xane are ri Dios kachꞌabꞌen apanoq jetaq ri xkꞌulmatajik rukꞌ ri Aarón.
5 So also Christ did not glorify himself to be made a high priest, but it was he who said to him, "You are my Son. Today I have become your Father."
Je xuqujeꞌ ri Cristo man xaq ta pa rech wi xubꞌan chꞌawenel cho ri Dios pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq, xane are ri Dios xraj chi jeriꞌ kakꞌulmatajik, are ri Dios xbꞌin che: At, at nukꞌojol kamik xinux atat
6 As he says also in another place, "You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek." (aiōn )
Xuqujeꞌ pa ri Tzꞌibꞌatalik kubꞌij: At, at chꞌawenel wi cho ri Dios pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq jetaq ri xuxik ri Melquisedec. (aiōn )
7 In the days of his flesh, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.
Ri Cristo are xkꞌojiꞌk cho ri uwachulew xubꞌan chꞌawem rukꞌ mochꞌochꞌem xuqujeꞌ rukꞌ oqꞌej, xuta che ri Dios chi kakol che ri kamikal, xtataj kꞌu ri uchꞌawem rumal cher xubꞌano rukꞌ mochꞌochꞌem.
8 Although he was a Son, he learned obedience by the things which he suffered.
Pune ukꞌojol ri Dios, xretaꞌmaj ri nimanik rumal ri kꞌaxkꞌolal.
9 Having been made perfect, he became to all of those who obey him the author of everlasting salvation, (aiōnios )
Are xtoꞌtaj ri Cristo chubꞌanik ronojel ri karaj ri Dios, xuxik kolonel rech jeriꞌ xuya kikoltajem konojel ri kenimanik. (aiōnios )
10 named by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
Rumal riꞌ ri Dios xubꞌan che ri Cristo chi xuxik kinimal chꞌawenelabꞌ pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq jetaq ri xuxik ri Melquisedec.
11 About him we have many words to say, and hard to interpret, seeing you have become dull of hearing.
Sibꞌalaj kꞌo na kaqabꞌij chirij we jastaq riꞌ, kꞌax kꞌu ubꞌixik chiꞌwe rumal cher kꞌax kibꞌan chuchꞌobꞌik.
12 For when by reason of the time you ought to be teachers, you again need to have someone teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the oracles of God. You have come to need milk, not solid food.
Rajawaxik ya waꞌ we ta ix aꞌjtijabꞌ chik, xa kꞌu rajawaxik kixtijox chi na junmul rech kakꞌut na chiꞌwach ri qas tzij rech ri Dios ri man kꞌax ta uchꞌobꞌik. Pa juleꞌ taq tzij chik, ix xaq jeꞌ leche na kitijo, man kixkwin ta na kitij ko taj jastaq.
13 For everyone who lives on milk is not experienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a baby.
Ri xaq xwi leche kutijo, man qas ta retaꞌm riꞌ ri kubꞌij ri tzij rech sukꞌal, jer kꞌo jun laj nitzꞌ akꞌal ri kꞌa katuꞌn na.
14 But solid food is for those who are full grown, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.
Are kꞌu ri ko taq jastaq tijowik rij, xaq xwi ri winaq ri e nimaꞌq chik ketijowik, are waꞌ ri winaq ri kekwinik kakichꞌobꞌ ri utz xuqujeꞌ ri man utz taj, jeriꞌ rumal cher naqꞌatal chike kakichꞌobꞌ rij ri jastaq.
