< Hebrews 2 >

1 Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, so that we will not drift away.
अतो वयं यद् भ्रमस्रोतसा नापनीयामहे तदर्थमस्माभि र्यद्यद् अश्रावि तस्मिन् मनांसि निधातव्यानि।
2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense;
यतो हेतो दूतैः कथितं वाक्यं यद्यमोघम् अभवद् यदि च तल्लङ्घनकारिणे तस्याग्राहकाय च सर्व्वस्मै समुचितं दण्डम् अदीयत,
3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard;
तर्ह्यस्माभिस्तादृशं महापरित्राणम् अवज्ञाय कथं रक्षा प्राप्स्यते, यत् प्रथमतः प्रभुना प्रोक्तं ततोऽस्मान् यावत् तस्य श्रोतृभिः स्थिरीकृतं,
4 God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?
अपरं लक्षणैरद्भुतकर्म्मभि र्विविधशक्तिप्रकाशेन निजेच्छातः पवित्रस्यात्मनो विभागेन च यद् ईश्वरेण प्रमाणीकृतम् अभूत्।
5 For he did not subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.
वयं तु यस्य भाविराज्यस्य कथां कथयामः, तत् तेन् दिव्यदूतानाम् अधीनीकृतमिति नहि।
6 But one has somewhere testified, saying, "What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?
किन्तु कुत्रापि कश्चित् प्रमाणम् ईदृशं दत्तवान्, यथा, "किं वस्तु मानवो यत् स नित्यं संस्मर्य्यते त्वया। किं वा मानवसन्तानो यत् स आलोच्यते त्वया।
7 You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.
दिव्यदतगणेभ्यः स किञ्चिन् न्यूनः कृतस्त्वया। तेजोगौरवरूपेण किरीटेन विभूषितः। सृष्टं यत् ते कराभ्यां स तत्प्रभुत्वे नियोजितः।
8 You have put all things under his feet." For in that he put all things under him, he left nothing that is not under him. But now we do not yet see that all things are under him.
चरणाधश्च तस्यैव त्वया सर्व्वं वशीकृतं॥" तेन सर्व्वं यस्य वशीकृतं तस्यावशीभूतं किमपि नावशेषितं किन्त्वधुनापि वयं सर्व्वाणि तस्य वशीभूतानि न पश्यामः।
9 But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.
तथापि दिव्यदूतगणेभ्यो यः किञ्चिन् न्यूनीकृतोऽभवत् तं यीशुं मृत्युभोगहेतोस्तेजोगौरवरूपेण किरीटेन विभूषितं पश्यामः, यत ईश्वरस्यानुग्रहात् स सर्व्वेषां कृते मृत्युम् अस्वदत।
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
अपरञ्च यस्मै येन च कृत्स्नं वस्तु सृष्टं विद्यते बहुसन्तानानां विभवायानयनकाले तेषां परित्राणाग्रसरस्य दुःखभोगेन सिद्धीकरणमपि तस्योपयुक्तम् अभवत्।
11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
यतः पावकः पूयमानाश्च सर्व्वे एकस्मादेवोत्पन्ना भवन्ति, इति हेतोः स तान् भ्रातृन् वदितुं न लज्जते।
12 saying, "I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the assembly I will praise you."
तेन स उक्तवान्, यथा, "द्योतयिष्यामि ते नाम भ्रातृणां मध्यतो मम। परन्तु समिते र्मध्ये करिष्ये ते प्रशंसनं॥"
13 And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Look, here I am, and the children God has given me."
पुनरपि, यथा, "तस्मिन् विश्वस्य स्थाताहं।" पुनरपि, यथा, "पश्याहम् अपत्यानि च दत्तानि मह्यम् ईश्वरात्।"
14 Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
तेषाम् अपत्यानां रुधिरपललविशिष्टत्वात् सोऽपि तद्वत् तद्विशिष्टोऽभूत् तस्याभिप्रायोऽयं यत् स मृत्युबलाधिकारिणं शयतानं मृत्युना बलहीनं कुर्य्यात्
15 and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
ये च मृत्युभयाद् यावज्जीवनं दासत्वस्य निघ्ना आसन् तान् उद्धारयेत्।
16 For, truly, he did not come to help the angels, but to help the offspring of Abraham.
स दूतानाम् उपकारी न भवति किन्त्विब्राहीमो वंशस्यैवोपकारी भवती।
17 Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.
अतो हेतोः स यथा कृपावान् प्रजानां पापशोधनार्थम् ईश्वरोद्देश्यविषये विश्वास्यो महायाजको भवेत् तदर्थं सर्व्वविषये स्वभ्रातृणां सदृशीभवनं तस्योचितम् आसीत्।
18 For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
यतः स स्वयं परीक्षां गत्वा यं दुःखभोगम् अवगतस्तेन परीक्षाक्रान्तान् उपकर्त्तुं शक्नोति।
