Ephesians 2
1 You were made alive when you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
Titeket is megelevenített, akik holtak voltatok a ti vétkeitek és bűneitek miatt,
2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience; (aiōn g165)
melyekben jártatok egykor e világ folyása szerint, a levegőbeli hatalmasság fejedelme szerint, ama lélek szerint, mely most az engedetlenség fiaiban munkálkodik, (aiōn g165)
3 among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
akik között forgolódtunk egykor mi is mindnyájan a mi testünk kívánságaiban, cselekedve a testnek és a gondolatoknak akaratát, és természet szerint haragnak fiai voltunk, mint egyebek is.
4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,
De az Isten gazdag lévén irgalmasságban, az ő nagy szerelméből, mellyel minket szeretett,
5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
minket, kik meg voltunk halva a vétkek miatt, megelevenített együtt a Krisztussal (kegyelemből tartattatok meg!),
6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
és együtt feltámasztott és együtt ültetett a mennyekben, Krisztus Jézusban,
7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; (aiōn g165)
hogy megmutassa a következendő időkben az ő kegyelmének felséges gazdagságát hozzánk való jóságából a Krisztus Jézusban. (aiōn g165)
8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Mert kegyelemből tartattatok meg, hit által; és ez nem tőletek van: Isten ajándéka ez.
9 not of works, that no one would boast.
Nem cselekedetekből, hogy senki ne kérkedjék.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
Mert az ő alkotása vagyunk, általa a Krisztus Jézusban jó cselekedetekre teremtetve, amelyeket előre elkészített az Isten, hogy azokban járjunk.
11 Therefore remember that once you, the non-Jews in the flesh, who are called "uncircumcision" by that which is called "circumcision," (in the flesh, made by hands);
Ezért emlékezzetek meg arról, hogy egykor ti a testben pogányok voltatok, kiket körülmetéletlennek neveztek azok, akiknek testét kézzel metélték körül,
12 that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
hogy ti, mondom, abban az időben Krisztus nélkül valók voltatok, Izrael társaságától idegenek és az ígéret szövetségeitől távol valók, reménységetek nem volt, és Isten nélkül valók voltatok e világon.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Most pedig a Krisztus Jézusban ti, akik egykor távol voltatok, közel valókká lettetek a Krisztus vére által.
14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition,
Mert ő a mi békességünk, aki eggyé tette mind a két nemzetséget, és lerontotta a közbevetett választófalat,
15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace;
az ellenségeskedést az ő testében, a parancsolatoknak tételekben való törvényét eltörölve, hogy azt a kettőt egy új emberré teremtse ő magában, békességet szerezve,
16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which he put to death their enmity.
és hogy megbékéltesse az Istennel mind a kettőt, egy testben a keresztfa által, megölve ezen az ellenségeskedést.
17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.
És eljőve békességet hirdetett néktek, a távol valóknak és a közel valóknak.
18 For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
Mert ő által van menetelünk mindkettőnknek egy Lélekben az Atyához.
19 So then you are no longer foreigners and noncitizens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,
Azért immár nem vagytok jövevények és zsellérek, hanem polgártársai a szenteknek és cselédei az Istennek,
20 being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;
akiket fölépítettek az apostoloknak és prófétáknak alapkövén, és a szegletkő maga Jézus Krisztus,
21 in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;
akiben az egész épület szép rendben egybeilleszkedik, s növekedik szent templommá az Úrban,
22 in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
akiben ti is együtt épültök Isten hajlékává a Lélek által.
