< Daniel 2 >
1 In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his spirit was troubled, and his sleep went from him.
E higa mar ariyo mar loch Nebukadneza, noleko lek mayoreyore, kendo lekgo nochando chunye ma omone nindo.
2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the enchanters, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king.
Omiyo ruoth nogolo chik mondo okelne ajuoke, jokor wach, jo-nyakalondo kod jorieko ma jo-Kaldea mondo onyise gima noleko. Kane gidonjo mi gichungʼ e nyim ruoth,
3 The king said to them, "I have had a dream, and my spirit is anxious to understand the dream."
nowachonegi niya, “Aseleko lek moro mosechanda ahinya kendo adwaro mondo angʼe tiende.”
4 Then spoke the Chaldeans to the king in the Aramaic language, "O king, live forever: tell your servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation."
Eka jokor wach nodwoko ruoth gi dho jo-Aram niya, “Mad idag amingʼa, yaye ruoth nyis jotichni lek ma iseleko eka wabiro nyisi tiende.”
5 The king answered the Chaldeans, "The thing is gone from me: if you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a rubbish heap.
Ruoth nodwoko jokor wach niya, “Ma e gima asengʼado e pacha ma ok anyal loko kama: Ka ok unyisa gima ne aleko, kendo ka ok unyisa tiende, to ibiro kidhu matindo tindo, kendo uteu biro lokore pidhe mag owuoyo.
6 But if you show the dream and its interpretation, you shall receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor: therefore show me the dream and its interpretation."
To ka unyisa gima ne aleko kendo unyisa tiende, to ubiro yudo mich gi osimbo kod duongʼ malich. Omiyo nyisauru leknano kendo nyisauru tiende.”
7 They answered the second time and said, "Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation."
To negichako gidwoke kendo niya, “Ruoth mondo onyis jotichne lek moseleko, eka wabiro nyise tiende.”
8 The king answered, "I know of a certainty that you would gain time, because you see the thing is gone from me.
Eka ruoth nodwoko niya, “Angʼeyo ratiro ni utemo mana ketho seche, nikech ungʼeyo ni gima asengʼado e chunya ma ok anyal loko ema:
9 But if you do not make known to me the dream, there is but one law for you; for you have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, until such time that things might change. Therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can show me its interpretation."
Ka ok unyisa lek maseleko, to chandruok achiel kende ema ochomou. Usewinjoru e kindu mondo unyisa gik manyalo wita kod gik maricho, kuparo ni mano biro miyo alok pacha. Kuom mano, nyisauru leknano, eka abiro ngʼeyo ni unyalo lokona tiende.”
10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, "There is not a man on the earth who can show the king's matter, because no king, lord, or ruler, has asked such a thing of any magician, or enchanter, or Chaldean.
Jokor wach nodwoko ruoth niya, “Onge dhano moro amora e piny manyalo timo gima ruoth penjoni! Bende onge ruoth moro amora, bed ni oduongʼ kendo en gi nyalo machal nadi, mosepenjo ajwoga, ja-nyakalondo kata jakor wach moro amora gima chalo kamano.
11 It is a rare thing that the king requires, and there is no other who can show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh."
Gima ruoth penjono tek ma ok nyalre. Onge ngʼama nyalo lero tiende ni ruoth, makmana nyiseche, to gin ok gidag gi ji.”
12 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
Ma nomiyo mirima omako ruoth kendo nodoko mager, mi nogolo chik mana gisano mondo oneg joma riek duto manie piny Babulon.
13 So the decree went forth, and the wise men were to be killed; and they sought Daniel and his companions to be killed.
Omiyo chik nowuok mondo onegi joma riek duto, kendo noor ji mondo omany Daniel gi osiepene, mondo gin bende oneg-gi.
14 Then Daniel returned an answer with counsel and prudence to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, who was gone forth to kill the wise men of Babylon;
Ka Ariok, jatend askeche morito ruoth nosewuok oko mondo oneg joma riek mag Babulon, Daniel nowuoyo kode gi rieko kod paro matut.
15 he answered Arioch the king's captain, "Why is the decree so urgent from the king?" Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
Nopenjo jatelo mane oa ka ruothno niya, “Angʼo momiyo ruoth nogolo chik mager kamano?” Eka Ariok nonyiso Daniel gima omiyo nogol chik ma kamano.
16 Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would appoint him a time, and he would show the king the interpretation.
Ka Daniel nowinjo tiend gima ne timore, nodhi nyaka e nyim ruoth mokwaye mondo omede thuolo, eka obed gi nyalo mar lokone tiend lekne.
17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
Eka Daniel nodok e ode kendo nonyiso osiepene ma Hanania, Mishael kod Azaria wachno.
18 that they would seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his companions should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Nojiwogi mondo gikwa Nyasach polo mondo okechgi kuom midhieroni, mondo en, kaachiel gi osiepene, gi joma riek mamoko man Babulon kik neg-gi.
19 Then was the secret revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Otienono nonyis Daniel tiend midhierono e lek. Eka Daniel nopako Nyasach polo,
20 Daniel answered, "Blessed be the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and might are his.
kowacho niya: Nying Nyasaye mondo opaki mochwere manyaka chiengʼ; nikech rieko kod teko gin mage.
21 He changes the times and the seasons; he removes kings, and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding;
En ema ochano ndalo mag chwiri kod opon; bende en ema oketo ruodhi e loch kendo ogologi. Ochiwo rieko ne joma riek kod ngʼeyo ne joma nigi winjo.
22 he reveals the deep and secret things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.
Ofwenyo gik matut kendo mopondo; ongʼeyo gima opondo e mudho, kendo ler odak kode.
23 I thank you, and praise you, God of my fathers, who has given me wisdom and might, and has now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king's matter."
Agoyoni erokamano, kendo apaki, yaye Nyasach kwerena: Isemiya rieko gi teko, isemiyo angʼeyo gima ne wakwayi, isemiyo wangʼeyo tiend lek mar ruoth.
24 Therefore Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon; he went and said this to him: "Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon; bring me in before the king, and I will show to the king the interpretation."
Eka Daniel nodhi ir Ariok, ngʼat mane ruoth oketo mondo oneg joma riek man Babulon, kendo nowachone niya, “Kik itiek joma riek man Babulon. Tera ir ruoth mondo alokne tiend lekneno.”
25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said this to him, "I have found a man of the children of the captivity of Judah, who will make known to the king the interpretation."
Ariok notero Daniel ir ruoth sano, kendo nowacho niya, “Aseyudo ngʼat moro moa e dhood Juda, manie twech e pinywa, manyalo nyiso ruoth tiend lekneno.”
26 The king answered Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, "Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?"
Ruoth nopenjo Daniel (ma bende ne iluongo ni Belteshazar) niya, “Bende inyalo nyisa tiend gima ne aneno e lekna?”
27 Daniel answered before the king, and said, "The secret which the king has demanded is such that no wise men, enchanters, magicians, nor soothsayers, can show to the king;
Daniel nodwoko niya, “Onge ngʼama riek moro amora, kata jakor wach kata ajwoga kata ja-nyakalondo manyalo nyiso ruoth tiend midhiero mosepenjoni,
28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has made known to king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head on your bed, are these:
makmana nitie Nyasaye moro e polo mafwenyo tiend midhierni. Osenyiso ruoth Nebukadneza gik mabiro timore ndalo mabiro. Lekni kod fweny duto mane obiro e pachi kane inindo e kitandani e magi:
29 as for you, O king, your thoughts came into your mind on your bed, what should happen hereafter; and he who reveals secrets has made known to you what shall happen.
“Kane oyudo inindo kanyo, yaye ruoth, pachi nolokore momako gik mabiro timore, kendo Jal mafwenyo tiend midhierni nonyisi gik mabiro timore.
30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than all the living, but in order that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.
To an ok oseelna tiend midhieroni nikech ariek moloyo ji mamoko mangima, to oseelnago mondo in, yaye ruoth, ingʼe tiende, kendo mondo ingʼe gima nobiro e pachi.
31 You, O king, saw, and look, a great image. This image, which was mighty, and whose brightness was extraordinary, stood before you; and its appearance was awesome.
“Kane ingʼicho, yaye ruoth, to ne ineno e nyimi kido moro maduongʼ marieny kendo malich kineno.
32 As for this image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze,
Kido mochweno ne olos gi dhahabu lilo, to kore gi bedene nolos gi fedha. Bund iye gi embene to nolos gi nyinyo,
33 its legs of iron, its feet part of iron, and part of clay.
ogwendene nolos gi chuma, to tiendene nolos gi chuma mokikore gi lowo mowangʼ.
34 You saw until a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces.
Kane oyudo irange, lwanda moro ne omuki, to ok gi lwet dhano. Lwandano notuomo kido mochweno gi yo ka tiendene mane olos gi chuma gi lowo, mi otoyogi matindo tindo.
35 Then was the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, broken in pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them: and the stone that struck the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Eka chuma gi lowo, gi nyinyo, gi fedha gi dhahabu notore mongʼinjore matindo tindo, kendo negilokore machal gi mihudhi molwar kar dino cham e ndalo oro. Yamo nobiro moywerogi oko duto, maonge kata buru matin mane odongʼ. To Lwanda mane otuomo kido mochweno nolokore got marangʼongo kendo nopongʼo piny duto.
36 This is the dream; and we will tell its interpretation before the king.
“Mano e lekno, kendo koro wabiro loke ne ruoth.
37 You, O king, are king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, and the strength, and the glory;
Yaye ruoth, in e ruoth mar ruodhi. Nyasach polo asemiyi loch gi teko gi nyalo kod duongʼ;
38 and wherever human beings dwell, the animals of the field and the birds of the sky has he given into your hand, and has made you to rule over them all: you are the head of gold.
oseketo ji duto modak e piny ngima e lweti, kaachiel gi le mag bungu kod winy mafuyo e kor polo. Kendo kamoro amora ma gidakie, oseketi jatelo mag-gi duto. Omiyo koro in e wich mar kido mane ilekono.
39 After you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; and another third kingdom of bronze, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
“Bangʼ lochni, pinyruoth moro machielo nobi, ma lochne ok nobed maduongʼ ka mari. Bangʼ mano pinyruoth molos gi nyinyo nobed gi loch ewi piny duto.
40 The fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron, because iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things; and as iron that crushes all these, shall it break in pieces and crush.
Mogik, pinyruoth mar angʼwen matek ka chuma nobi, nikech chuma toyo kendo rego gimoro amora, to kaka chuma toyo gik moko matindo tindo, e kaka en bende obiro rego kendo toyo pinyruodhi mamoko duto.
41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, because you saw the iron mixed with miry clay.
Mana kaka ne ineno ka tiend kidono gi lith tiendene olos gi chuma mokikore gi lowo mowangʼ mano e kaka nobed pinyruoth mopogore kende; to kata kamano, enobed gi teko moko mag chuma e iye, mana kaka ne ineno chuma mokikore gi lowo mowangʼ.
42 As the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
Mana kaka lith tiendene nolos gi chuma mokikore gi lowo mowangʼ, e kaka pinyruodhni bende biro bedo matek kuonde moko, to kuonde moko nobed maonge teko.
43 And whereas you saw the iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mix with one another but they shall not hold together, even as iron does not mix with clay.
Mana kaka ne ineno ka oriw chuma gi lowo mowangʼ, e kaka jo-pinyruodhno nobed joma oriw, to ok ginisik ka giriwore, nikech chuma moriw gi lowo ok nyal siko koriwore.
44 In the days of those kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people; but it shall break in pieces and consume all those kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
“E kinde mag ruodhigo, Nyasach polo nochung pinyruoth moro ma ok nokethi nyaka chiengʼ, kendo ma ok nowene oganda machielo. Enoreg pinjeruodhigo duto nyaka okelgi e gikogi, to en owuon to nosik nyaka chiengʼ.”
45 Because you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what shall happen hereafter: and the dream is certain, and its interpretation sure."
Ma e tiend fweny mar lwanda mane omuki e got moro, to ok gi lwet dhano ma en lwanda mane otoyo chuma gi nyinyo gi lowo, gi fedha gi dhahabu matindo tindo. Nyasaye maduongʼ osenyiso ruoth gima biro timore e ndalo mabiro. Lekni en adier, kendo lok molokego bende en adier chuth.
46 Then king Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, and worshiped Daniel, and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him.
Eka ruoth Nebukadneza nopodho piny auma e nyim Daniel mi nomiye duongʼ kendo nogolo chik mondo otimne misango kendo oket ubani e nyime.
47 The king answered Daniel and said, "Surely your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing you have been able to reveal this secret."
Ruoth nowachone Daniel niya, “Adier, Nyasachi en Nyasach nyiseche, kendo en Ruoth mar ruodhi, kendo en Jal maelo tiend midhierni, nikech ne in gi nyalo mar elona tiend midhieroni.”
48 Then the king made Daniel great, and gave him many great gifts, and made him to rule over the whole province of Babylon, and to be chief governor over all the wise men of Babylon.
Eka ruoth noketo Daniel e telo mamalo kendo nomiye mich mathoth. Nokete jatelo e piny Babulon duto, kendo nomiye teko ewi joma riek duto man Babulon.
49 Daniel requested of the king, and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel was in the gate of the king.
To bende, kaka Daniel nokwaye, ruoth noyiero Shadrak, Meshak gi Abednego kaka jotend gwenge mag Babulon, to Daniel owuon to nodongʼ mana katiyo e dala ruoth.
