Colossians 3
1 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.
Skoro razem z Chrystusem zostaliście ożywieni, skupcie się na niebie, gdzie Chrystus zasiada po prawej stronie Boga.
2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.
Sprawy nieba niech będą dla was ważniejsze od ziemskich.
3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Dla świata jesteście już bowiem martwi, a wasze prawdziwe życie jest życiem dla Boga i jest nierozerwalnie związane z Chrystusem.
4 When Christ, your life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.
Gdy więc Chrystus, który jest waszym życiem, ukaże się w chwale całemu światu, wtedy również wy ukażecie się razem z Nim w Jego wspaniałej chwale.
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever is worldly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Odrzućcie więc wszystko, co jest grzeszne i przyziemne: rozwiązłość seksualną, niemoralność, pożądanie, złe pragnienia oraz chciwość, która sprawia, że pieniądze zajmują miejsce należne Bogu.
6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming on the children of disobedience.
Z powodu takich grzechów ludzie zbuntowani przeciwko Bogu staną przed Jego sądem.
7 You also once walked in those, when you lived in them;
A przecież i wy kiedyś tak żyliście!
8 but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.
Teraz więc odrzućcie to wszystko: gniew, nienawiść, złość, obelgi i wulgarne słowa.
9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices,
Nie okłamujcie się nawzajem! Przecież zdarliście z siebie łachmany starej natury i jej czynów,
10 and have put on the new self, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,
a ubraliście się we wspaniałą szatę nowej natury, nieustannie odnawiającej się na wzór Jezusa, który ją w was stworzył.
11 where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.
Teraz nie liczą się już podziały na pogan, Żydów, obrzezanych, nieobrzezanych, cudzoziemców, Scytów, niewolników i wolnych. Liczy się tylko Chrystus, a On mieszka w nas wszystkich.
12 Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, gentleness, humility, and patience;
Skoro Bóg wybrał was, przeznaczył do swojej służby i tak bardzo was ukochał, to również wy okazujcie innym serdeczne współczucie, dobroć, pokorę, łagodność i cierpliwość.
13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as the Lord forgave you, so you also do.
Bądźcie dla siebie wyrozumiali i przebaczajcie innym ich winy. Jak Pan przebaczył wam, tak i wy postępujcie względem innych.
14 Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.
A we wszystkim, co czynicie, okazujcie miłość, bo ona utrzymuje nas w doskonałej harmonii.
15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Niech waszymi sercami kieruje pokój pochodzący od Chrystusa, bo jako członkowie kościoła, który jest Jego ciałem, zostaliście powołani do życia w pokoju. Bądźcie Mu za wszystko wdzięczni.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to God.
Niech słowa Chrystusa, wraz z ukrytym w nich bogactwem, wypełniają całe wasze życie i niech będą źródłem waszej mądrości. Korzystając z niej, pouczajcie się nawzajem i doradzajcie sobie, a z waszych serc niech płyną do Boga psalmy, hymny oraz inne duchowe pieśni.
17 Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.
Wszystko, cokolwiek mówicie albo robicie, czyńcie jako reprezentanci Jezusa, waszego Pana, wyrażając Bogu wdzięczność za to, czego dokonał Chrystus.
18 Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Żony, bądźcie uległe wobec swoich mężów, tak bowiem powinny postępować kobiety posłuszne Panu.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them.
Mężowie, kochajcie swoje żony i nie sprawiajcie im przykrości.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.
Dzieci, zawsze słuchajcie rodziców, bo takie zachowanie podoba się Panu.
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged.
Ojcowie, nie drażnijcie dzieci, aby nie ogarnęło ich zniechęcenie.
22 Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as people-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord.
Niewolnicy, zawsze bądźcie posłuszni swoim ziemskim panom, służąc nie tylko na pokaz, aby się przypodobać ludziom. Róbcie to szczerze—ze względu na Pana.
23 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for people,
Każdą pracę wykonujcie z ochotą, jakbyście robili to dla Jezusa, a nie tylko dla ludzi.
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
Pamiętajcie, że to od Niego otrzymacie w nagrodę wspaniały dar. Służcie Mu więc jako swojemu prawdziwemu Panu, wiedząc,
25 But he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.
że ten, kto popełnia zło, poniesie stosowną karę—niezależnie od tego, kim jest.
