2 Timothy 4
1 I command you therefore before God and Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:
Je t’adjure devant Dieu et devant le Christ Jésus, qui doit juger les vivants et les morts, et par son apparition et son règne,
2 preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching.
prêche la parole, insiste à temps et à contre temps, reprends, menace, exhorte, avec une entière patience et toujours en instruisant.
3 For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts;
Car un temps viendra où les hommes ne supporteront plus la saine doctrine; mais ils se donneront une foule de docteurs, suivant leurs convoitises et avides de ce qui peut chatouiller leurs oreilles;
4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to myths.
ils les fermeront à la vérité pour les ouvrir à des fables.
5 But you be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Mais toi, sois circonspect en toutes choses, endure la souffrance, fais l’œuvre d’un prédicateur de l’Evangile, sois tout entier à ton ministère.
6 For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.
Car, pour moi, je sers déjà de libation, et le moment de mon départ est proche.
7 I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.
J’ai combattu le bon combat, j’ai achevé ma course, j’ai gardé la foi;
8 From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
il ne me reste plus qu’à recevoir la couronne de justice, que me donnera en ce jour-là le Seigneur, le juste Juge, et non seulement à moi, mais à tous ceux qui auront aimé son avènement.
9 Be diligent to come to me soon,
Tâche de me rejoindre au plus tôt;
10 for Demas left me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)
car Démas, m’a quitté par amour pour le siècle présent, et il est parti pour Thessalonique; Crescent est allé en Galatie, Tite en Dalmatie. (aiōn g165)
11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.
Luc seul est avec moi. Prends Marc et amène-le avec toi, car il m’est d’un grand secours pour le ministère.
12 But I sent Tychicus to Ephesus.
J’ai envoyé Tychique à Ephèse.
13 Bring the cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus when you come, and the books, especially the parchments.
En venant, apporte le manteau que j’ai laissé à Troas chez Carpus, ainsi que les livres, surtout les parchemins.
14 Alexander, the coppersmith, did much evil to me. The Lord will repay him according to his works,
Alexandre, le fondeur, m’a fait bien du mal: le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses œuvres.
15 of whom you also must beware; for he greatly opposed our words.
Toi aussi, tiens-toi en garde contre lui, car il a fait une forte opposition à notre prédication.
16 At my first defense, no one came to help me, but all left me. May it not be held against them.
Personne ne m’a assisté dans ma première défense; tous m’ont abandonné: que cela ne leur soit pas imputé!
17 But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the non-Jewish people might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
Cependant, le Seigneur m’a assisté et m’a fortifié afin que la parole fût pleinement annoncée par moi et entendue de toutes les nations; et j’ai été délivré de la gueule du lion.
18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Le Seigneur me délivrera de toute œuvre mauvaise, et il me sauvera en me faisant entrer dans son royaume céleste. A lui soit la gloire aux siècles des siècles! Amen! (aiōn g165)
19 Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the house of Onesiphorus.

20 Erastus remained at Corinth, and I left Trophimus at Miletus, ill.
Eraste est resté à Corinthe, et j’ai laissé Trophime malade à Milet.
21 Be diligent to come before winter. Eubulus salutes you, as do Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brothers.
Hâte-toi de venir avant l’hiver. Eubule te salue, ainsi que Pudens, Linus, Claudia et tous les frères.
22 The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you.
Que le Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec ton esprit! Que la grâce soit avec vous! Amen!
