2 Samuel 4
1 Now when Ishbaal, Saul's son, heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, he lost courage, and all Israel was troubled.
শৌলের ছেলে ঈশ্বোশত যখন শুনেছিলেন যে অবনের হিব্রোণে মারা গিয়েছেন, তখন তিনি সাহস হারিয়ে ফেলেছিলেন, ও সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল আশঙ্কিত হয়ে পড়েছিল।
2 And Ishbaal, Saul's son, had two men who were captains of bands; the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, of the people of Benjamin (for Beeroth was regarded as belonging to the people of Benjamin;
শৌলের ছেলের কাছে দুজন লোক ছিল, যারা ছিল আক্রমণকারী দলের সর্দার। একজনের নাম ছিল বানা, অন্যজনের নাম রেখব; তারা ছিল বিন্যামীন বংশীয় বেরোতীয় রিম্মোণের ছেলে—বেরোৎ বিন্যামীনের অংশবিশেষ বলে বিবেচিত হত,
3 and the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and have lived as foreigners there until this day).
যেহেতু বেরোতীয়েরা গিত্তয়িমে পালিয়ে গিয়ে আজও পর্যন্ত সেখানে বিদেশিরূপে বসবাস করে চলেছে।
4 Now Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son whose feet were crippled. He was five years old when the news came of Saul and Jonathan from Jezreel, and his nurse took him up and fled. And it happened as she was hurrying to get away that he fell and was injured. And his name was Mippibaal.
(শৌলের ছেলে যোনাথনের এক ছেলে ছিল, যে আবার দু-পায়েই খঞ্জ ছিল। যিষ্রিয়েল থেকে শৌল ও যোনাথনের বিষয়ে খবর আসার সময় তার বয়স ছিল পাঁচ বছর। তার ধাত্রী তাকে কোলে তুলে নিয়ে পালিয়েছিল, কিন্তু সেই ধাত্রী যখন দৌড়ে পালাতে যচ্ছিল, তখন শিশুটি পড়ে গিয়ে অক্ষম হয়ে যায়। তার নাম মফীবোশৎ।)
5 The sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ishbaal, as he took his rest at noon.
ইত্যবসরে বেরোতীয় রিম্মোণের দুই ছেলে রেখব ও বানা ঈশ্বোশতের বাড়ির উদ্দেশে রওয়ানা হল, ও ভর-দুপুরে তিনি যখন দুপুরের বিশ্রাম নিচ্ছিলেন, তখন তারা সেখানে গিয়ে উপস্থিত হল।
6 And look, the doorkeeper of the house had been sifting wheat, and she became drowsy and fell asleep. And Rechab and his brother Baanah slipped by.
তারা কিছুটা গম নেওয়ার অছিলায় বাড়ির ভিতরদিকে চলে গেল, ও সেখানে গিয়ে তারা তাঁর পেটে ছোরা বিঁধিয়ে দিয়েছিল। পরে রেখব ও তার ভাই বানা পালিয়ে গেল।
7 And they went into the house where he was lying on his bed in his bedchamber. And they struck him and killed him, and beheaded him. And they took his head and went by the way of the Arabah all night.
ঈশ্বোশত যখন তাঁর শোবার ঘরে বিছানার উপর শুয়েছিলেন, তখনই তারা সেই বাড়িতে ঢুকেছিল। তাঁকে ছোরা মেরে খুন করার পর তারা তাঁর মুণ্ডুটি কেটে নিয়েছিল। সেটি সঙ্গে নিয়ে তারা সারারাত অরাবার পথ ধরে হেঁটে গেল।
8 They brought the head of Ishbaal to David at Hebron, and said to the king, "Look, the head of Ishbaal, the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life. Jehovah has avenged my lord the king this day of Saul and his descendants."
হিব্রোণে দাউদের কাছে তারা ঈশ্বোশতের মুণ্ডুটি নিয়ে গিয়ে রাজাকে বলল, “এই মুণ্ডুটি হল শৌলের সেই ছেলে ঈশ্বোশতের মুণ্ডু, যে আপনার শত্রু, ও যে আপনাকে খুন করতে চেয়েছিল। আজই শৌল ও তাঁর বংশধরের বিরুদ্ধে সদাপ্রভু আমার প্রভু মহারাজের হয়ে প্রতিশোধ নিয়েছেন।”
9 David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, "As Jehovah lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
বেরোতীয় রিম্মোণের দুই ছেলে রেখব ও তার ভাই বানাকে দাউদ উত্তর দিলেন, “যিনি আমাকে সব বিপদ-আপদ থেকে রক্ষা করেছেন, সেই জীবন্ত সদাপ্রভুর দিব্যি,
10 when someone told me, 'Look, Saul is dead,' thinking to have brought good news, I took hold of him, and killed him in Ziklag, which was the reward I gave him for his news.
যখন কেউ একজন আমাকে বলল, ‘শৌল মরেছেন,’ ও ভেবেছিল যে সে সুখবর এনেছে, আমি কিন্তু তাকে ধরে সিক্লগে হত্যা করলাম। তার দেওয়া খবরের জন্য আমি তাকে এই পুরস্কারই দিয়েছিলাম!
11 How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house on his bed, shall I not now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?"
তোমরা, এই দুষ্ট লোকেরা যখন একজন নির্দোষ ব্যক্তিকে তাঁর নিজের ঘরে, তাঁরই বিছানায় খুন করেছ—তখন আরও কত না বেশি করে আমি তাঁর রক্তের প্রতিশোধ তোমাদের কাছ থেকে নেব ও এই পৃথিবীর বুক থেকে তোমাদের উচ্ছেদ করে ছাড়ব!”
12 David commanded his young men, and they killed them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up beside the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbaal, and buried it in the grave of Abner son of Ner.
অতএব দাউদ তাঁর লোকজনকে আদেশ দিলেন, ও তারা তাদের হত্যা করল। তারা তাদের হাত পা কেটে দেহগুলি হিব্রোণের ডোবার পাশে ঝুলিয়ে রেখেছিল। কিন্তু তারা ঈশ্বোশতের মুণ্ডুটি নিয়ে গিয়ে সেটি হিব্রোণে অবনেরের কবরে কবর দিয়েছিল।
