< 1 Thessalonians 5 >

1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
Ugbu a, ụmụnna, banyere oge na mgbe ihe ndị a ga-emezu. Echeghị m na ọ dị mkpa i degara unu akwụkwọ.
2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
Dị ka unu maara nke ọma na ụbọchị Onyenwe anyị ga-abịa dị ka onye ohi si abịa nʼabalị.
3 Now when they are saying, "Peace and safety," then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.
Mgbe ha ga na-asị udo, na nchekwa dị, mgbe ahụ, na mberede, mbibi ga-abịakwasị ha dị ka ihe mgbu sị adakwasị nwanyị ime na-eme, nke ga-eme ka onye ọbụla ghara inwe ike ịgbapụ.
4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
Ma unu onwe unu, ụmụnna, anọghị nʼọchịchịrị, nke ụbọchị ahụ ga-abịakwasị unu na mberede dịka onye ohi.
5 You are all sons of light, and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night, nor to darkness,
Unu niile bụ ụmụ nke ìhè na ụmụ nke ehihie, anyị abụkwaghị nke ọchịchịrị maọbụ nke abalị.
6 so then let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober.
Nʼihi nke a, ka anyị ghara ịdị na-arahụ ụra dị ka ndị ọzọ, kama ka anyị mụrụ anya ka anya dokwaa anyị.
7 For those who sleep, sleep in the night, and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
Nʼihi na abalị bụ mgbe ndị na-arahụ ụra ji arahụ ụra. Ọ bụkwa nʼabalị ka ndị mmanya na-egbu na-aṅụbiga mmanya oke.
8 But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
Ma ebe anyị niile bụ ndị nke ihe, ka anyị bụrụ ndị anya doro, ndị yi okwukwe na ịhụnanya dịka ihe ikpuchi obi, yikwasịkwa olileanya nke nzọpụta dị ka okpu igwe.
9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Nʼihi na Chineke akwadebeghị ikpe ọmụma na egwu nye anyị. Kama ka anyị nweta nzọpụta site nʼokwukwe anyị nwere nʼOnyenwe anyị Jisọs Kraịst.

11 Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.

13 and to respect and honor them in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
Ka unu na-akwanyere ha ugwu site nʼịhụnanya nʼihi ụdị ọrụ ha na-arụ. Ka unu na mmadụ ibe unu birikwa nʼudo.
14 We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.
Ma ugbu a, anyị na-arịọ unu, ụmụnna, na-adụnụ ndị na-anọ nkịtị ọdụ, na-agbanụ ndị dara mba ume, nyerenụ ndị na-adịghị ike aka, nwekwanụ ndidi nʼebe ha niile nọ.
15 See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always seek what is good both for each other and for all.

22 Abstain from every form of evil.
Wezuganụ onwe unu nʼihe ọjọọ niile.
23 May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
