< 1 Kings 22 >

1 They continued three years without war between Aram and Israel.
Fún ọdún mẹ́ta kò sì sí ogun láàrín Aramu àti Israẹli.
2 It happened in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
Ṣùgbọ́n ní ọdún kẹta, Jehoṣafati ọba Juda sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ láti rí ọba Israẹli.
3 The king of Israel said to his servants, "You know that Ramoth Gilead is ours, and we are still, and do not take it out of the hand of the king of Aram?"
Ọba Israẹli sì ti wí fún àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ pé, “Ǹjẹ́ ẹ̀yin mọ̀ pé ti wa ni Ramoti Gileadi, àwa sì dákẹ́ síbẹ̀, a kò sì gbà á padà lọ́wọ́ ọba Aramu?”
4 He said to Jehoshaphat, "Will you go with me to battle to Ramoth Gilead?" Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses."
Ó sì béèrè lọ́wọ́ Jehoṣafati pé, “Ṣé ìwọ yóò bá mi lọ láti lọ bá Ramoti Gileadi jà?” Jehoṣafati sì dá ọba Israẹli lóhùn pé, “Èmi bí ìwọ, ènìyàn mi bí ènìyàn rẹ, ẹṣin mi bí ẹṣin rẹ.”
5 Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Please inquire first for the word of Jehovah."
Ṣùgbọ́n Jehoṣafati sì tún wí fún ọba Israẹli pé, “Kọ́kọ́ béèrè lọ́wọ́ Olúwa.”
6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall I go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?" They said, "Go up; for Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king."
Nígbà náà ni ọba Israẹli kó àwọn wòlíì jọ, bí irinwó ọkùnrin. Ó sì béèrè lọ́wọ́ wọn pé, “Ṣé kí n lọ sí Ramoti Gileadi lọ jagun, tàbí kí èmi kí ó jọ̀wọ́ rẹ̀?” Wọ́n sì dáhùn pé, “Lọ, nítorí tí Olúwa yóò fi lé ọba lọ́wọ́.”
7 But Jehoshaphat said, "Isn't there here a prophet of Jehovah, that we may inquire of him?"
Ṣùgbọ́n Jehoṣafati béèrè pé, “Ǹjẹ́ wòlíì Olúwa kan kò sí níhìn-ín, tí àwa ìbá béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀?”
8 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Jehovah, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him; for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil." Jehoshaphat said, "Do not let the king say so."
Ọba Israẹli dá Jehoṣafati lóhùn pé, “Ọkùnrin kan ṣì wà, lọ́dọ̀ ẹni tí àwa lè béèrè lọ́wọ́ Olúwa, ṣùgbọ́n mo kórìíra rẹ̀ nítorí kì í sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ rere kan nípa mi, bí kò ṣe ibi. Mikaiah ọmọ Imla ni.” Jehoṣafati sì wí pé, “Kí ọba má ṣe sọ bẹ́ẹ̀.”
9 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, "Quickly get Micaiah the son of Imlah."
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọba Israẹli sì pe ìránṣẹ́ kan, ó sì wí pé, “Lọ yára mú Mikaiah, ọmọ Imla wá.”
10 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
Ọba Israẹli àti Jehoṣafati ọba Juda jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ wọn, wọ́n wọ aṣọ ìgúnwà wọn ní ìta ẹnu ibodè Samaria, gbogbo àwọn wòlíì náà sì ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀ níwájú wọn.
11 Zedekiah the son of Kenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, "Thus says Jehovah, 'With these you shall push the Arameans, until they are consumed.'"
Sedekiah ọmọ Kenaana sì ṣe ìwo irin fún ara rẹ̀, ó sì wí pé, “Báyìí ni Olúwa wí: ‘Wọ̀nyí ni ìwọ yóò fi kan àwọn ará Aramu títí ìwọ yóò fi run wọ́n.’”
12 All the prophets prophesied so, saying, "Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king."
Gbogbo àwọn wòlíì tókù sì ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀ ohun kan náà wí pé, “Kọlu Ramoti Gileadi, kí o sì ṣẹ́gun.” Wọ́n sì wí pé, “Nítorí tí Olúwa yóò fi lé ọba lọ́wọ́.”
13 The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, "See now, the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak good."
Ìránṣẹ́ tí ó lọ pe Mikaiah wí fún un pé, “Wò ó, ẹnu kan náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ àwọn wòlíì fi jẹ́ rere fún ọba. Jẹ́ kí ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ bá ti àwọn tókù mu, kí o sì sọ rere.”
14 Micaiah said, "As Jehovah lives, what Jehovah says to me, that I will speak."
Ṣùgbọ́n Mikaiah wí pé, “Bí Olúwa ti wà, ohun tí Olúwa bá sọ fún mi ni èmi yóò sọ fún un.”
15 When he had come to the king, the king said to him, "Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall we forbear?" He answered him, "Go up and prosper; and Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king."
Nígbà tí ó sì dé, ọba sì béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀ pé, “Mikaiah, ṣé kí a lọ bá Ramoti Gileadi jagun, tàbí kí a jọ̀wọ́ rẹ̀?” Ó sì dáhùn wí pé, “Lọ, kí o sì ṣẹ́gun, nítorí Olúwa yóò fi lé ọba lọ́wọ́.”
16 The king said to him, "How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?"
Ọba sì wí fún un pé, “Ìgbà mélòó ni èmi yóò fi ọ bú pé kí o má ṣe sọ ohun kan fún mi bí kò ṣe òtítọ́ ní orúkọ Olúwa?”
17 He said, "I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Jehovah said, 'These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.'"
Mikaiah sì dáhùn pé, “Mo rí gbogbo Israẹli túká kiri lórí àwọn òkè bí àgùntàn tí kò ní olùṣọ́, Olúwa sì wí pé, ‘Àwọn wọ̀nyí kò ní olúwa. Jẹ́ kí olúkúlùkù padà sí ilé rẹ̀ ní àlàáfíà.’”
18 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?"
Ọba Israẹli sì wí fún Jehoṣafati pé, “Ǹjẹ́ èmi kò sọ fún ọ pé kò sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ ìre kan sí mi rí bí kò ṣe ibi?”
19 Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of Jehovah. I saw Jehovah sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
Mikaiah sì tún wí pé, “Nítorí náà gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa. Mo rí Olúwa jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú gbogbo ogun ọ̀run dúró ní apá ọ̀tún àti ní apá òsì rẹ̀.
20 Jehovah said, 'Who shall entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?' One said one thing; and another said another.
Olúwa sì wí pé, ‘Ta ni yóò tan Ahabu láti kọlu Ramoti Gileadi? Kí ó sì tọ ikú rẹ̀ lọ níbẹ̀?’ “Ẹnìkan wí báyìí, ẹlòmíràn sì sọ òmíràn.
21 A spirit came out and stood before Jehovah, and said, 'I will entice him.'
Ẹ̀mí kan sì jáde wá, ó sì dúró níwájú Olúwa, ó sì wí pé, ‘Èmi yóò tàn án.’
22 Jehovah said to him, 'How?' He said, 'I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' He said, 'You will entice him, and will also prevail. Go out and do so.'
“Olúwa sì béèrè pé, ‘Báwo?’ “Ó sì wí pé, ‘Èmi yóò jáde lọ, èmi yóò sì di ẹ̀mí èké ní ẹnu gbogbo àwọn wòlíì rẹ̀.’ “Olúwa sì wí pé, ‘Ìwọ yóò tàn án, ìwọ yóò sì borí, jáde lọ, kí o sì ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀.’
23 Now therefore, look, Jehovah has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; and Jehovah has pronounced disaster against you."
“Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Olúwa ti fi ẹ̀mí èké sí ẹnu gbogbo àwọn wòlíì rẹ wọ̀nyí. Olúwa sì ti sọ ibi sí ọ.”
24 Then Zedekiah the son of Kenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, "Which way did the Spirit of Jehovah go from me to speak to you?"
Nígbà náà ni Sedekiah ọmọ Kenaana sì dìde, ó sì gbá Mikaiah lójú, ó sì wí pé, “Ọ̀nà wo ni ẹ̀mí Olúwa gbà lọ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi láti bá ọ sọ̀rọ̀?”
25 Micaiah said, "Look, you will see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself."
Mikaiah sì dáhùn pé, “Ìwọ yóò ṣe ìwádìí ní ọjọ́ tí ìwọ yóò sá pamọ́ sínú ìyẹ̀wù.”
26 The king of Israel said, "Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son.
Ọba Israẹli sì pàṣẹ pé, “Ẹ mú Mikaiah, kí ẹ sì mú un padà sọ́dọ̀ Amoni, olórí ìlú, àti sọ́dọ̀ Joaṣi ọmọ ọba
27 Say, 'Thus says the king, "Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace."'"
kí ẹ sì wí pé, ‘Báyìí ni ọba wí: Ẹ fi eléyìí sínú túbú, kí ẹ sì fi oúnjẹ ìpọ́njú àti omi ìpọ́njú bọ́ ọ, títí èmi yóò fi padà bọ̀ ní àlàáfíà.’”
28 Micaiah said, "If you return at all in peace, Jehovah has not spoken by me." He said, "Listen, all you people."
Mikaiah sì wí pé, “Bí ìwọ bá padà bọ̀ ní àlàáfíà, Olúwa kò ti ipa mi sọ̀rọ̀.” Ó sì tún wí pé, “Ẹ kíyèsi ọ̀rọ̀ mi, ẹ̀yin ènìyàn gbogbo!”
29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọba Israẹli àti Jehoṣafati ọba Juda gòkè lọ sí Ramoti Gileadi.
30 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes." The king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
Ọba Israẹli sì wí fún Jehoṣafati pé, “Èmi yóò pa aṣọ dà, èmi yóò sì lọ sí ojú ìjà, ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ yóò wọ aṣọ ìgúnwà rẹ.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọba Israẹli pa aṣọ dà, ó sì lọ sí ojú ìjà.
31 Now the king of Aram had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.
Ọba Aramu ti pàṣẹ fún àwọn olórí kẹ̀kẹ́ rẹ̀ méjìlélọ́gbọ̀n wí pé, “Ẹ má ṣe bá ẹnìkankan jà, ẹni kékeré tàbí ẹni ńlá, bí kò ṣe ọba Israẹli nìkan.”
32 It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, "Surely that is the king of Israel." and they turned aside to fight against him. Jehoshaphat cried out.
Nígbà tí àwọn olórí kẹ̀kẹ́ sì rí Jehoṣafati, wọ́n sì wí pé, “Dájúdájú ọba Israẹli ni èyí.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n yípadà láti bá a jà, ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí Jehoṣafati sì kígbe sókè,
33 It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
àwọn olórí kẹ̀kẹ́ sì rí i pé kì í ṣe ọba Israẹli, wọ́n sì padà kúrò lẹ́yìn rẹ̀.
34 A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, "Turn your hand, and carry me out of the battle; for I am severely wounded."
Ṣùgbọ́n ẹnìkan sì fa ọrun rẹ̀ láìròtẹ́lẹ̀, ó sì ta ọba Israẹli láàrín ìpàdé ẹ̀wù irin. Ọba Israẹli sì wí fún olùtọ́jú kẹ̀kẹ́ rẹ̀ pé, “Yí ọwọ́ rẹ dà, kí o sì mú mi jáde kúrò nínú ogun. Èmi ti gbọgbẹ́.”
35 The battle increased that day. The king was propped up in his chariot facing the Arameans, and died at evening. The blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.
Ogun náà sì le ní ọjọ́ náà, a sì dá ọba dúró nínú kẹ̀kẹ́ kọjú sí àwọn ará Aramu. Ẹ̀jẹ̀ sì sàn jáde láti inú ọgbẹ́ rẹ̀ sí àárín kẹ̀kẹ́ náà, ó sì kú ní àṣálẹ́.
36 A cry went throughout the army about the going down of the sun, saying, "Every man to his city, and every man to his country."
A sì kéde la ibùdó já ní àkókò ìwọ̀-oòrùn wí pé, “Olúkúlùkù sí ìlú rẹ̀ àti olúkúlùkù sí ilẹ̀ rẹ̀!”
37 So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọba kú, a sì gbé e wá sí Samaria, wọ́n sì sin ín ní Samaria.
38 They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood where the prostitutes washed themselves; according to the word of Jehovah which he spoke.
Wọ́n sì wẹ kẹ̀kẹ́ náà ní adágún Samaria, àwọn ajá sì lá ẹ̀jẹ̀ rẹ̀, àwọn àgbèrè sì wẹ ara wọn nínú rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa ti sọ.
39 Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Ní ti ìyókù ìṣe Ahabu, àti gbogbo èyí tí ó ṣe, àti ilé eyín erin tí ó kọ́, àti gbogbo ìlú tí ó tẹ̀dó, a kò ha kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ọ̀rọ̀ ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Israẹli?
40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
Ahabu sì sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀. Ahasiah ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
41 Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
Jehoṣafati ọmọ Asa, sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní jẹ ọba lórí Juda ní ọdún kẹrin Ahabu ọba Israẹli.
42 Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
Jehoṣafati sì jẹ́ ẹni ọdún márùndínlógójì nígbà tí ó bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ń jẹ ọba ní ọdún mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dọ́gbọ̀n ní Jerusalẹmu. Orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ ni Asuba ọmọbìnrin Silihi.
43 He walked in all the way of Asa his father; He did not turn aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah: however the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
Ó sì rìn nínú gbogbo ọ̀nà Asa baba rẹ̀, kò sì yípadà kúrò nínú rẹ̀; ó sì ṣe èyí tí ó tọ́ ní ojú Olúwa. Kìkì àwọn ibi gíga ni a kò mú kúrò, àwọn ènìyàn sì ń rú ẹbọ, wọ́n sì ń sun tùràrí níbẹ̀.
44 Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
Jehoṣafati sì wà ní àlàáfíà pẹ̀lú ọba Israẹli.
45 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he warred, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
Ní ti ìyókù ìṣe Jehoṣafati àti ìṣe agbára rẹ̀ tí ó ṣe, àti bí ó ti jagun sí, a kò ha kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ọ̀rọ̀ ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Juda?
46 The remnant of the male temple prostitutes, that remained in the days of his father Asa, he put away out of the land.
Ó pa ìyókù àwọn ọkùnrin alágbèrè ojúbọ òrìṣà ní ọjọ́ Asa baba rẹ̀ run kúrò ní ilẹ̀ náà.
47 There was no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
Nígbà náà kò sí ọba ní Edomu; adelé kan ni ọba.
48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they did not go; for the ships were broken at Ezion Geber.
Jehoṣafati kan ọkọ̀ Tarṣiṣi láti lọ sí Ofiri fún wúrà, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò lọ, nítorí àwọn ọkọ̀ náà fọ́ ní Esioni-Geberi.
49 Then Ahaziah the son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, "Let my servants go with your servants in the ships." But Jehoshaphat would not.
Ní ìgbà náà Ahasiah ọmọ Ahabu wí fún Jehoṣafati pé, “Jẹ́ kí àwọn ìránṣẹ́ mi bá àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ lọ nínú ọkọ̀,” ṣùgbọ́n Jehoṣafati kọ̀.
50 Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of David his father; Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
Nígbà náà ni Jehoṣafati sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀, a sì sin ín pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀ ní ìlú Dafidi, baba rẹ. Jehoramu ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned two years over Israel.
Ahasiah ọmọ Ahabu bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí jẹ ọba lórí Israẹli ní Samaria ní ọdún kẹtàdínlógún Jehoṣafati ọba Juda, ó sì jẹ ọba ní ọdún méjì lórí Israẹli.
52 He did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, in which he made Israel to sin.
Ó sì ṣe búburú níwájú Olúwa, nítorí tí ó rìn ní ọ̀nà baba rẹ̀, àti ní ọ̀nà ìyá rẹ̀, àti ní ọ̀nà Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati, tí ó mú Israẹli dẹ́ṣẹ̀.
53 He served Baal, and worshiped him, and provoked to anger Jehovah, the God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
Ó sì sin Baali, ó sì ń bọ Baali, ó sì mú Olúwa, Ọlọ́run Israẹli bínú, gẹ́gẹ́ bí i baba rẹ̀ ti ṣe.
