< 1 John 5 >

1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.
Norc-ere sinhesten baitu ecen Iesus dela Christ hura Iaincoaganic iayoa da: eta norc-ere on baitaritzá engendratu duenari, on daritzá harenganic engendratu içan denari-ere.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.
Hunetan eçagutzen dugu ecen on dariztegula Iaincoaren haourrey, Iaincoari on daritzagunean, eta haren manamenduac beguiratzen ditugunean.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.
Ecen haur da Iaincoaren charitatea, haren manamenduac beguira ditzagun, eta haren manamenduac gaitzac eztirade.
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
Ecen cer-ere Iaincoaganic iayo baita, garaitzen çayo munduari: eta haur da victoria munduari garaithu çayona, gure fedea.
5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Nor da munduari garaitzen çayona, Iesus dela Iaincoaren Semea sinhesten duena baicen?
6 This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
Haur da Iesus Christ vrez eta odolez ethorri içan dena: ez vrez solalnent, baina vrez eta odolez: eta Spiritua da testificatzen duena ecen Spiritua eguia dela.
7 For there are three who testify:
Ecen hirur dirade testificatzen dutenac ceruän, Aita, Hitza, eta Spiritu saindua: eta hauc hirurac bat dirade.
8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.
Eta hirur dirade testificatzen dutenac lurrean, Spiritua eta vra eta odola: eta hirur hauc batetan dirade.
9 If we accept human testimony, the witness of God is greater; for this is God's testimony that he has testified concerning his Son.
Baldin guiçonén testificationea recebitzen badugu Iaincoaren testificationea handiago da: ecen haur da Iaincoaren testificationea, cein testificatu vkan baitu bere Semeaz.
10 He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.
Iaincoaren Semea baithan sinhesten duenac, badu Iaincoaren testificationea bere baithan: Iaincoa sinhesten eztuenac, gueçurti eguiten du hura: ecen eztu sinhetsi vkan. Iaincoac bere Semeaz testificatu vkan duen testificationea.
11 The testimony is this, that God gave to us everlasting life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios g166)
Eta haur da testificationea, ecen vicitze eternala eman draucula Iaincoac: eta vicitze haur haren Semean da. (aiōnios g166)
12 He who has the Son has the life. He who does not have God's Son does not have the life.
Semea duenac, badu vicitzea: Iaincoaren Semea eztuenac, eztu vicitzea.
13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
Gauça hauc scribatu vkan drauzquiçuet çuey, Iaincoaren Semearen icena baithan sinhesten duçuenoy: daquiçuençát ecen baduçuela vicitze eternala, eta sinhets deçaçuençát Iaincoaren Semearen icena baithan. (aiōnios g166)
14 This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
Eta haur da Iaincoa baithan dugun confidançá, ecen baldin cerbait esca bagaitez haren vorondatearen araura, ençuten gaituela.
15 And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
Eta baldin badaquigu ecen harc ençuten gaituela, cer-ere esca bagaitez: badaquigu ecen baditugula galdeguiten drauzquiogun esqueac.
16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he should ask, and he will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death. I do not say that he should make a request concerning this.
Baldin cembeitec ikusten badu bere anaye bekatu eguiten duela heriora ezten bekatuz, escaturen çayó Iaincoari, eta emanen drauca hari vicitze: bekatu eguiten duteney diot ez heriora. Bekatua denean heriora, eztiat erraiten harengatic othoitz daguián.
17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.
Iniquitate gucia bekatu da: baina bada bekatu heriora eztenic.
18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.
Badaquigu ecen nor-ere Iaincoaganic iayo baita, harc eztuela bekaturic eguiten: baina Iaincoaganic engendratu içan denac, beguiratzen du bere buruä, eta Gaichtoac eztu hunquitzen hura.
19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
Badaquigu ecen Iaincoaganic garela: eta mundu gucia gaichtoan datzala.
20 We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Baina badaquigu ecen Iaincoaren Semea ethorri içan dela, eta eman draucula adimendu eguiati denaren eçagutzeco: eta gara eguiatian, Iesus Christ haren Semean: haur da eguiazco Iaincoa, eta vicitze eternala. (aiōnios g166)
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
Haourtoác, beguira çaitezte idoletaric. Amen.
