Numbers 21
1 When the Canaanite king of Arad who lived in the Negev heard that Israel came by the way of Atharim, then he fought against Israel, and took some of them captive.
И услыша Хананей царь Арадский живый при пустыни, яко прииде Израиль путем Афаримским, и ратова противу Израиля, и взя от них плен.
2 Israel vowed a vow to the LORD, and said, "If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities."
И обещася Израиль обетом Господу и рече: аще мне предаси люди сия подручны, погублю их и грады их.
3 The LORD listened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and the name of the place was called Hormah.
И услыша Господь глас Израилев и предаде Хананеа подручна ему: и опустоши его и грады его, и прозва има месту тому Запустение.
4 They traveled from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
И воздвигшеся от Ора горы путем иже к морю Чермному, обыдоша землю Едомлю: и малодушествоваша людие на пути,
5 The people spoke against God, and against Moses, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loathes this light bread."
и роптаху людие на Бога и на Моисеа, глаголюще: вскую извел еси ны из Египта убити нас в пустыни, яко несть хлеба, ни воды? И душа наша негодует о хлебе сем тщем.
6 The LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many people of Israel died.
И посла Господь на люди змиев умерщвляющих, и угрызаху людий: и умроша люди мнози от сынов Израилевых.
7 The people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD, and against you. Pray to the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us." Moses prayed for the people.
И пришедше людие к Моисеови глаголаша: согрешихом, яко роптахом на Господа и на тя: помолися убо ко Господу, да отженет от нас змии. И помолися Моисей ко Господу о людех.
8 The LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard: and it shall happen, that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live."
И рече Господь к Моисею: сотвори себе змию (медяну) и положи ю на знамя: и будет аще угрызет змия человека, всяк угрызенный видев ю жив будет.
9 Moses made a serpent of bronze, and set it on the standard: and it happened, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of bronze, he lived.
И сотвори Моисей змию медяну и постави ю на знамени: и бысть егда угрызаше змия человека, и взираше на змию медяну, и оживаше.
10 The children of Israel traveled, and camped in Oboth.
И воздвигошася сынове Израилевы, и ополчишася во Овофе:
11 They traveled from Oboth, and camped at Iyeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrise.
и воздвигшеся от Овофа, ополчишася во Ахалгеи об ону страну пустыни, яже есть пред лицем Моавитским, на восток солнца:
12 From there they traveled, and camped in the Valley of Zered.
и оттуду воздвигошася, и ополчишася в дебри Заред:
13 From there they traveled, and camped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness, that comes out of the border of the Amorites: for the Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.
и оттуду воздвигшеся, ополчишася об ону страну Арнона в пустыни, яже исходит от предел Аморрейских: есть бо Арнон предел Моавль между Моавом и между Аморреом.
14 Therefore it is said in the Book of the Wars of the LORD, "Waheb in Suphah, the valleys of the Arnon,
Сего ради глаголется в книзе брань Господня: Зоову попали, и потоки Арнони,
15 the slope of the valleys that incline toward the dwelling of Ar, leans on the border of Moab."
и потоки устрои в селение Ир, и прилежит пределом Моавлим.
16 From there they traveled to Beer: that is the well of which the LORD said to Moses, "Gather the people together, and I will give them water."
И оттуду (воздвигошася) ко Кладязю: сей есть кладязь, о немже рече Господь к Моисею: собери люди, и дам им воду пити.
17 Then sang Israel this song: "Spring up, well; sing to it:
Тогда воспе Израиль песнь сию у кладязя: начинайте ему:
18 the well, which the princes dug, which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter, and with their staffs." From the wilderness they traveled to Mattanah;
кладязь, ископаша его князи, изсекоша его царие язычестии во царствии их, внегда обладати ими. И от кладязя (воздвигошася) в Манфанаил:
19 and from Mattanah to Nahaliel; and from Nahaliel to Bamoth;
и от Манфанаила в Наадиил, и от Наадиила в Вамоф:
20 and from Bamoth to the valley that is in the field of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looks down on the desert.
и от Вамофа в Напин, иже есть на поли Моавли, от верха Изсеченаго, зрящаго пред лице пустыни.
21 Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
И посла Моисей послы к Сиону царю Аморрейску, словесы мирными глаголя:
22 "Let me pass through your land: we will not turn aside into field, or into vineyard; we will not drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's highway, until we have passed your border."
да пройдем сквозе землю твою, путем пойдем: не уклонимся ни на села, ни на винограды, не испием воды от кладязь твоих: путем царским пойдем, дондеже пройдем пределы твоя.
23 Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness, and came to Jahaz; and he fought against Israel.
И не даде Сион Израилю проити сквозе пределы своя: и собра Сион вся люди своя, и изыде ополчитися на Израиля в пустыню: и прииде во Иассан, и ополчися на Израиля.
24 Israel struck him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, even to the people of Ammon; for the border of the people of Ammon was strong.
И порази его Израиль убийством меча, и обладаше землею его от Арнона до Иавока, даже до сынов Амманих: яко Иазир пределы сынов Амманих суть.
25 Israel took all these cities: and Israel lived in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all its towns.
И взя Израиль вся грады сия: и вселися Израиль во всех градех Аморрейских, во Есевоне и во всех подлежащих ему:
26 For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even to the Arnon.
есть бо Есевон град Сиона царя Аморрейска: и сей повоева царя Моавля прежде и взя всю землю его от Ароира даже до Арнона.
27 Therefore those who speak in proverbs say, "Come to Heshbon. Let the city of Sihon be built and established;
Сего ради рекут приточницы: приидите во Есевон, да соградится и созиждется град Сион:
28 for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon. It has devoured Ar of Moab, swallowed up the high places of the Arnon.
яко огнь изыде от Есевона и пламень от града Сиона, и пояде даже до Моава, и пожре столпы Арнонския:
29 Woe to you, Moab. You are undone, people of Chemosh. He has given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity, to Sihon king of the Amorites.
горе тебе, Моаве, погибосте, людие Хамосовы: продани быша сынове их в заключение и дщери их пленницы царю Аморрейскому Сиону:
30 And we shot at them. Heshbon has perished as far as Dibon. And we have laid waste as far as Nophah, which reaches to Medeba."
и семя их погибнет, Есевон даже до Девона: и жены их еще разожгоша огнь на Моава.
31 Thus Israel lived in the land of the Amorites.
Вселися же Израиль во вся грады Аморрейски:
32 Moses sent to spy out Jazer; and they took its towns, and drove out the Amorites who were there.
и посла Моисей соглядати Иазира: и взяша его и села его, и изгнаша Аморреа живущаго тамо:
33 They turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
и возвратившеся, приидоша путем в Васан. И изыде Ог, царь Васанский, противу им и вси людие его на брань во Едраин.
34 The LORD said to Moses, "Do not fear him: for I have delivered him into your hand, and all his people, and his land; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon."
И рече Господь к Моисею: не убойся его, яко в руце твои предах его и вся люди его и всю землю его: и сотвориши ему, якоже сотворил еси Сиону царю Аморрейску, иже живяше во Есевоне.
35 So they struck him, and his sons and all his people, until there was none left him remaining: and they possessed his land.
И порази его и сыны его и вся люди его, даже не оста в них живый: и наследиша землю его.
