< Matthew 16 >

1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
Farisaawetinne Saduqaaweti Yesuusakko yidosona. Iya paaccanaw koyidi, banttana saloppe malaata besso gidi oychchidosona.
2 But he answered and said to them, "When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.'
Shin I enttako, “Sa7i omarssiya wode, ‘Saloy zo77ida gisho wontto booqallana’ yaageta.
3 In the morning, 'It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.' You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.
Wonttiya wode, ‘Saloy zo77idi shaaratida gisho iray bukkana’ yaageta. Yaatin hintte salo mallaa be7idi ereeta, shin wodiya malla eranaw dandda7ibeekketa.
4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of Yaunan." He left them, and departed.
Iitanne ammanonna yeletethay malaata koyees. Shin iyaw Yoonasa malaatappe hara malaati imettenna” yaagis. Hessafe guye, enttana yan aggidi hara soo bis.
5 The disciples came to the other side and had forgotten to take bread.
Entti abbaafe he finthi pinnida wode daabbo ekkidi yaanayssa dogidosona.
6 Yeshua said to them, "Watch out and guard yourselves against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Yesuusi enttako, “Farisaawetappenne Saduqaaweta irshshuwaafe naagettite” yaagis.
7 They reasoned among themselves, saying, "We brought no bread."
Enttika bantta garssan, “I hessa giday nu daabbo ekkidi yoonna gishossa gidana” yaagidosona.
8 But Yeshua, becoming aware of this, said, "You of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves about having no bread?
Yesuus entta qofaa eridi, “Hinttenoo, ammanoy paccidayssato! Daabbo ekkonna yida gisho woli gidon ays odetteetii?
9 Do you still not understand? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
Ha77ika hintte akeeketii? Ichchashu mukulu asaas ichchashu uythaa gishidayssanne entti midi kallin hintte aappun gayta kumethi denthidaakko dogidetii?
10 Nor the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
Hessadakka, laappun uythaa oyddu mukulu asaas gishidayssanne entti midi kallin, hintte aappun gita gayta kumethi denthidaakko akeekekketii?
11 Why is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Hiza, taani Farisaawetanne Saduqaaweta irshshuwaafe naagettite gada odeyssi daabbobaa gidonnayssa akeekekketii?” yaagis.
12 Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Yaatin, iya tamaareti Yesuusi odey munuqa denthanaw yegettiya irshshobaa gidonnashin Farisaawetanne Saduqaaweta timirttiyafe naagettanayssa gideyssa akeekidosona.
13 Now when Yeshua came into the parts of Qesarya Dephilipus, he asked his disciples, saying, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
Yesuusi Qisaariya Filphoosa giya biittaa gakkida wode ba tamaareta, “Asay, Asa na7aa oona goonaa?” yaagidi oychchis.
14 They said, "Some say Yukhanan the Baptist, some, Eliya, and others, Aramiyah, or one of the prophets."
Enttika, “Issoti issoti Xammaqiya Yohaannisa, harati Eliyaasa qassi hankkoti Ermmiyasa woykko nabetappe issuwa goosona” yaagidosona.
15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Yesuusi zaaridi, “Yaatin, hintte tana oona geeti” gidi entta oychchis.
16 Shimon Kipha answered and said to him, "You are the Meshikha, the Son of the living God."
Simoona Phexiroosi zaaridi, “Neeni Kiristtoosa, de7o Xoossaa na7a” yaagis.
17 And Yeshua answered him, "Blessed are you Shimon, son of Yauna, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
Yesuusi Phexiroosakko, “Yoona na7aa Simoona, neeni anjjettidayssa! Hayssa new qonccisiday saluwan de7iya ta aawappe attin ase gidenna.
18 I also tell you that you are Kipha, and on this Rock I will build my church, and the gates of Sheyul will not prevail against it. (Hadēs g86)
Ta new odays Phexiroosa, neeni zaalla! Taani ha zaalla bolla ta woosa keethaa keexana. Hayqo wolqqatika iyo xoonokkona. (Hadēs g86)
19 I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Salo kawotethaa qulppeta ta new immana. Sa7an neeni diggiyabay ubbay salon Xoossaa matan digettidabaa gidana. Sa7an neeni hano giyabay ubbay salon Xoossaa matan hanidabaa gidana” yaagis.
20 Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he is the Meshikha.
Hessafe guye, I, Kiristtoosa gideyssa oodeskka odonna mela ba tamaareta minthidi kiittis.
21 From that time, Yeshua began to show his disciples that he must go to Urishlim and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.
He wodiyappe doomidi Yesuusi ba tamaaretas, “Taani Yerusalaame baanaw bessees. Yan deriya cimatan, kahine halaqatanne higge asttamaareta kushen waaye ekkanaw bessees. Entti tana wodhana, shin taani heedzantho gallas hayqoppe denddana” yaagidi qonccisis.
22 Kipha took him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, "Far be it from you, Lord. This will never be done to you."
Phexiroosi Yesuusa gaxa kessidi, “Godaw, hessi hanenna! Hessa melabay nena ubbarakka gakkofo!” yaagidi hanqettis.
23 But he turned, and said to Kipha, "Get behind me, Satana. You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of humans."
Yesuusi Phexiroosakko guye simmidi, “Ha Xalahiyaw, taappe haakka! Neeni asa qofa qoppasappe attin Xoossaa qofa qopponna gisho taw dhube gidaasa” yaagis.
24 Then Yeshua said to his disciples, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Hessafe guye, Yesuusi ba tamaaretakko, “Oonikka tana kaallanaw koyabaa gidikko bana kaddo, ba masqaliya tookkidi tana kaalo.
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.
Ba de7uwa ashshanaw koyaa ubbay dhayssees. Shin ba de7uwa ta gisho gidi aathi immeyssi ashshees.
26 For what will it profit a person, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a person give in exchange for his life?
Asi alame kumethaa baw oothidi, gidoshin ba shemppuwa dhayssikko iya ay maaddii? Woykko asi ba shemppuwa laame ay immanaw dandda7ii?
27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.
Asa na7ay ba aawa bonchchuwan ba kiitanchchotara yaana. He wode issi issi uraas iya oosuwada immana.
28 Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom."
Ta tuma odays; hayssan eqqida asatappe Asa Na7ay kawo gididi simmeyssa be7ana gakkanaw hayqonnayssati hayssan de7oosona” yaagis.
