Mark 9
1 He said to them, "Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see the Kingdom of God come with power."
Il ajouta: «En vérité, je vous le dis, quelques-uns sont ici présents qui ne goûteront point la mort avant d'avoir vu venir, en puissance, le Royaume de Dieu.»
2 After six days Yeshua took with him Kipha, Yaquv, and Yukhanan, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.
Six jours après, emmenant seuls avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean, Jésus les conduisit sur une haute montagne, à l'écart. Et alors, devant eux, il fut transfiguré:
3 His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.
ses vêtements devinrent resplendissants et d'une éblouissante blancheur. Nul foulon ici-bas ne saurait en produire une semblable.
4 Eliya and Mushe appeared to them, and they were talking with Yeshua.
Élie leur apparut; avec lui était Moïse; et ils s'entretinrent avec Jésus.
5 Kipha said to Yeshua, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three tents: one for you, one for Mushe, and one for Eliya."
Pierre alors, s'adressant à Jésus, lui dit: «Rabbi!, qu'il nous est bon d'être ici! Dressons trois tentes, une pour toi, une pour Moïse, une pour Élie...»
6 For he did not know what to answer, for they became very afraid.
Il ne savait que dire; ils étaient, en effet, terrifiés.
7 A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him."
Une nuée survint qui les enveloppa, et de cette nuée sortit une voix: «Celui-ci est mon Fils, le bien-aimé, écoutez-le!»
8 Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them anymore, except Yeshua alone.
Immédiatement ils regardèrent autour d'eux, et ne virent plus personne; Jésus seul était avec eux.
9 As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
Comme ils descendaient de la montagne, il leur ordonna de ne raconter à personne ce qu'ils venaient de voir, si ce n'est lorsque le Fils de l'homme serait ressuscité d'entre les morts.
10 They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the "rising from the dead" meant.
Ils retinrent ces mots: «ressuscité d'entre les morts», et se demandaient, à part eux, ce qu'ils signifiaient;
11 They asked him, saying, "Why do the scribes say that Eliya must come first?"
et ils l'interrogèrent: «Comment les Scribes disent-ils: «Il faut, avant tout, qu'Élie vienne?»
12 And he said to them, "Eliya indeed comes first, and restores all things. And why is it written of the Son of Man that he should suffer many things and be rejected?
Il leur répondit: «Élie viendra avant tout et rétablira toutes choses; d'où vient alors qu'il est écrit du Fils de l'homme: il doit beaucoup souffrir et être méprisé?
13 But I tell you that Eliya has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him."
Eh bien, je vous le déclare, Élie est venu et ils lui ont fait tout ce qu'ils ont voulu, conformément à ce qui est écrit de lui.»
14 And when they came to the disciples, they saw a large crowd around them, and scribes questioning them.
De retour auprès des disciples, ils les trouvèrent entourés d'une foule considérable; des Scribes discutaient avec eux.
15 Immediately all the crowd, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him.
Dès que la multitude aperçut Jésus, chacun fut en émoi; on accourut à lui, on le saluait.
16 He asked them, "What are you arguing about with them?"
Il les interrogea: «Qu'est-ce que cette discussion?»
17 And one out of the crowd answered him, "Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;
L'un de ceux qui était dans la foule répondit: «Maître, je t'ai apporté mon fils; un Esprit muet le possède,
18 and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren't able."
et partout où il s'empare de lui, il le renverse par terre; alors l'enfant écume, grince des dents et devient tout raide. J'ai demandé à tes disciples de le chasser: ils n'en ont pas eu la force.» —
19 And answering, he said to them, "You unbelieving generation, how long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him to me."
«Ô génération sans foi, dit Jésus en leur répondant, jusqu'à quand serai-je au milieu de vous? Jusqu'à quand vous supporterai-je? Apportez-moi l'enfant.»
20 They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.
On le lui apporta. Mais à peine eut-il vu
21 He asked his father, "How long has it been since this has come to him?" He said, "From childhood.
Jésus que l'Esprit lui donna des convulsions, et, tombant par terre, il se tordait en écumant. Jésus interrogea son père: «Combien y a-t-il de temps que cela lui arrive?» — «Depuis sa première enfance», répondit-il;
22 And it has often cast him both into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us."
«et souvent l'Esprit l'a jeté tantôt dans le feu, tantôt dans l'eau pour le faire périr; si tu peux y faire quelque chose, aie pitié de nous, et viens à notre secours.»
23 Yeshua said to him, "'If you can?' All things are possible to him who believes."
Jésus lui répondit: «Tu me dis: si tu peux! Tout est possible à celui qui croit.»
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, "I believe. Help my unbelief."
Aussitôt le père de l'enfant s'écria: «Je crois! Viens en aide à mon incrédulité!»
25 When Yeshua saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, "You deaf and mute spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again."
Jésus, voyant la foule accourir, fit des menaces à l'Esprit impur: il lui dit: «Esprit sourd et muet, c'est moi qui te l'ordonne, sors de cet enfant et désormais n'y rentre plus!»
26 Having screamed, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, "He is dead."
L'Esprit jeta un cri et sortit, en agitant violemment l'enfant, qui devint comme mort; aussi un grand nombre disaient-ils: «Il est mort.»
27 But Yeshua took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.
Mais Jésus le prit par la main, le releva; il revint à lui.
28 And when he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, "Why could we not cast it out?"
Quand Jésus fut entré dans une maison, ses disciples lui demandèrent en particulier: «Pourquoi, nous, avons-nous été impuissants à expulser cet Esprit?»
29 And he said to them, "This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer and fasting."
Jésus leur répondit: «Il est d'une espèce, qui ne peut absolument se chasser que par la prière.»
30 They went out from there, and passed through Galila. He did not want anyone to know it.
Partis de là, ils traversèrent la Galilée, et il voulait que personne ne le sût,
31 For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, "The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, after three days he will rise again."
car il instruisait ses disciples; il leur disait: «Le Fils, de l'homme sera livrés entre les mains des hommes; ils le tueront; puis, une fois mis à mort, après trois jours, il ressuscitera.»
32 But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.
Mais ils ne comprenaient pas ce langage et ils craignaient de l'interroger.
33 He came to Kepharnakhum, and when he was in the house he asked them, "What were you arguing on the way?"
Ils arrivèrent à Capharnaüm; et quand il fut à la maison, il leur demanda: «De quoi vous entreteniez-vous pendant la route?»
34 But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest.
Ils gardèrent le silence; car ils avaient discuté en chemin sur celui d'entre eux qui était le plus grand.
35 And he sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all, and servant of all."
Jésus s'assit, appela les douze et leur dit: «Si quelqu'un veut être le premier, qu'il soit le dernier de tous et le serviteur de tous.»
36 He took a little child, and set him in the midst of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,
Puis il prit un enfant, le plaça au milieu d'eux, et, après l'avoir embrassé, il leur dit:
37 "Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, does not receive me, but him who sent me."
«Qui reçoit en mon nom un enfant tel que celui-ci me reçoit. Et qui me reçoit, reçoit non pas moi, mais Celui qui m'a envoyé.»
38 Yukhanan said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he was not following us."
«Maître, lui dit Jean, nous avons vu un homme chasser des démons en ton nom, et comme il ne nous suit pas, nous l'en avons empêché.»
39 But Yeshua said, "Do not forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.
Jésus répondit: «Ne l'en empêchez point, car per sonne, après avoir, en mon nom, fait un miracle, ne peut aussitôt mal parler de moi.
40 For whoever is not against us is for us.
En effet, qui n'est pas contre nous est pour nous.
41 For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you belong to the Meshikha, truly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.
Et quiconque, en mon nom et parce que vous êtes au Christ, vous aura donné à boire un verre d'eau, je vous le dis en vérité, ne perdra point sa récompense.»
42 Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he was thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck.
«Quant à celui qui aura été une occasion de chute pour l'un de ces petits qui croient, il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu'on lui attachât au cou une de ces meules que tournent les ânes, et qu'on le jetât dans la mer.»
43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gihana, into the unquenchable fire, (Geenna g1067)
«Si ta main est pour toi une occasion de chute, coupe-la; il t'est meilleur d'entrer mutilé dans la vie, que d'aller avec tes deux mains dans la Géhenne, dans le feu inextinguible. (Geenna g1067)

45 If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gihana. (Geenna g1067)
Si ton pied est pour toi une occasion de chute, coupe-le; il t'est meilleur d'entrer estropié dans la vie que d'être jeté avec tes deux pieds dans la Géhenne. (Geenna g1067)

47 If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into Gihana, (Geenna g1067)
Si ton oeil est pour toi une occasion de chute, arrache-le; il t'est meilleur d'entrer borgne dans le Royaume de Dieu que d'être jeté, avec tes deux yeux, dans la Géhenne (Geenna g1067)
48 'where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.'
où: «Leur ver ne meurt pas et le feu ne s'éteint pas.»
49 For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be salted with salt.
Car tous seront salés par le feu.
50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how can you make it salty? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another."
Le sel est bon: mais si le sel devient insipide, avec quoi l'assaisonnerez-vous? En vous-mêmes ayez du sel, et, entre vous, vivez en paix.»
