Mark 8
1 In those days, when there was a large crowd, and they had nothing to eat, he called the disciples to himself, and said to them,
ਤਦਾ ਤਤ੍ਸਮੀਪੰ ਬਹਵੋ ਲੋਕਾ ਆਯਾਤਾ ਅਤਸ੍ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਭੋਜ੍ਯਦ੍ਰਵ੍ਯਾਭਾਵਾਦ੍ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨਾਹੂਯ ਜਗਾਦ, |
2 "I have compassion on the crowd, because they have stayed with me now three days, and have nothing to eat.
ਲੋਕਨਿਵਹੇ ਮਮ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਪਾ ਜਾਯਤੇ ਤੇ ਦਿਨਤ੍ਰਯੰ ਮਯਾ ਸਾਰ੍ੱਧੰ ਸਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਭੋਜ੍ਯੰ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ|
3 If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, and some of them have come a long way."
ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ(ਅ)ਨੇਕੇ ਦੂਰਾਦ੍ ਆਗਤਾਃ, ਅਭੁਕ੍ਤੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਤੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਮਯਾ ਸ੍ਵਗ੍ਰੁʼਹਮਭਿਪ੍ਰਹਿਤੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਤੇ ਪਥਿ ਕ੍ਲਮਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ|
4 His disciples answered him, "From where could one satisfy these people with bread here in a deserted place?"
ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾ ਅਵਾਦਿਸ਼਼ੁਃ, ਏਤਾਵਤੋ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਤਰ੍ਪਯਿਤੁਮ੍ ਅਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਨ੍ਤਰੇ ਪੂਪਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਤੁੰ ਕੇਨ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਯਤੇ?
5 He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" They said, "Seven."
ਤਤਃ ਸ ਤਾਨ੍ ਪਪ੍ਰੱਛ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕਤਿ ਪੂਪਾਃ ਸਨ੍ਤਿ? ਤੇ(ਅ)ਕਥਯਨ੍ ਸਪ੍ਤ|
6 He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them, and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the crowd.
ਤਤਃ ਸ ਤਾੱਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਭੁਵਿ ਸਮੁਪਵੇਸ਼਼੍ਟੁਮ੍ ਆਦਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਤਾਨ੍ ਸਪ੍ਤ ਪੂਪਾਨ੍ ਧ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਗੁਣਾਨ੍ ਅਨੁਕੀਰ੍ੱਤਯਾਮਾਸ, ਭੰਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਪਰਿਵੇਸ਼਼ਯਿਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਦਦੌ, ਤਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਲੋਕੇਭ੍ਯਃ ਪਰਿਵੇਸ਼਼ਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ|
7 They had a few small fish. Having blessed them, he said to serve these also.
ਤਥਾ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸਮੀਪੇ ਯੇ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੁਦ੍ਰਮਤ੍ਸ੍ਯਾ ਆਸਨ੍ ਤਾਨਪ੍ਯਾਦਾਯ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਗੁਣਾਨ੍ ਸੰਕੀਰ੍ਤ੍ਯ ਪਰਿਵੇਸ਼਼ਯਿਤੁਮ੍ ਆਦਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍|
8 They ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
ਤਤੋ ਲੋਕਾ ਭੁਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਤ੍ਰੁʼਪ੍ਤਿੰ ਗਤਾ ਅਵਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਖਾਦ੍ਯੈਃ ਪੂਰ੍ਣਾਃ ਸਪ੍ਤਡੱਲਕਾ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੀਤਾਸ਼੍ਚ|
9 Now they were about four thousand. Then he sent them away.
ਏਤੇ ਭੋਕ੍ਤਾਰਃ ਪ੍ਰਾਯਸ਼੍ਚਤੁਃ ਸਹਸ੍ਰਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਾ ਆਸਨ੍ ਤਤਃ ਸ ਤਾਨ੍ ਵਿਸਸਰ੍ਜ|
10 Immediately he entered into the boat with his disciples, and came into the region of Dalmanutha.
ਅਥ ਸ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਃ ਸਹ ਨਾਵਮਾਰੁਹ੍ਯ ਦਲ੍ਮਾਨੂਥਾਸੀਮਾਮਾਗਤਃ|
11 The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, and testing him.
ਤਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਫਿਰੂਸ਼ਿਨ ਆਗਤ੍ਯ ਤੇਨ ਸਹ ਵਿਵਦਮਾਨਾਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਯ ਪਰੀਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਰ੍ਥਮ੍ ਆਕਾਸ਼ੀਯਚਿਹ੍ਨੰ ਦ੍ਰਸ਼਼੍ਟੁੰ ਯਾਚਿਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ|
12 He sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, "Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation."
ਤਦਾ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਨ੍ਤਰ੍ਦੀਰ੍ਘੰ ਨਿਸ਼੍ਵਸ੍ਯਾਕਥਯਤ੍, ਏਤੇ ਵਿਦ੍ਯਮਾਨਨਰਾਃ ਕੁਤਸ਼੍ਚਿਨ੍ਹੰ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਗਯਨ੍ਤੇ? ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨਹੰ ਯਥਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਬ੍ਰਵੀਮਿ ਲੋਕਾਨੇਤਾਨ੍ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਚਿਹ੍ਨੰ ਨ ਦਰ੍ਸ਼ਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ|
13 And he left them, and got into the boat again, and went to the other side.
ਅਥ ਤਾਨ੍ ਹਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਪੁਨ ਰ੍ਨਾਵਮ੍ ਆਰੁਹ੍ਯ ਪਾਰਮਗਾਤ੍|
14 Now they forgot to take bread; and they did not have more than one loaf in the boat with them.
ਏਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੈਃ ਪੂਪੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਵਿਸ੍ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਨਾਵਿ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸੰਨਿਧੌ ਪੂਪ ਏਕਏਵ ਸ੍ਥਿਤਃ|
15 He warned them, saying, "Watch out; guard yourselves against the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod."
ਤਦਾਨੀਂ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਆਦਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍ ਫਿਰੂਸ਼ਿਨਾਂ ਹੇਰੋਦਸ਼੍ਚ ਕਿਣ੍ਵੰ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਸਤਰ੍ਕਾਃ ਸਾਵਧਾਨਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਭਵਤ|
16 And they began discussing among themselves that they had no bread.
ਤਤਸ੍ਤੇ(ਅ)ਨ੍ਯੋਨ੍ਯੰ ਵਿਵੇਚਨੰ ਕਰ੍ਤੁਮ੍ ਆਰੇਭਿਰੇ, ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਸੰਨਿਧੌ ਪੂਪੋ ਨਾਸ੍ਤੀਤਿ ਹੇਤੋਰਿਦੰ ਕਥਯਤਿ|
17 He, perceiving it, said to them, "Why do you reason that it's because you have no bread? Do you not perceive yet, neither understand? Are your hearts hardened?
ਤਦ੍ ਬੁਦ੍ੱਵਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤੇਭ੍ਯੋ(ਅ)ਕਥਯਤ੍ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਸ੍ਥਾਨੇ ਪੂਪਾਭਾਵਾਤ੍ ਕੁਤ ਇੱਥੰ ਵਿਤਰ੍ਕਯਥ? ਯੂਯੰ ਕਿਮਦ੍ਯਾਪਿ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੀਥ? ਬੋੱਧੁਞ੍ਚ ਨ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੁਥ? ਯਾਵਦਦ੍ਯ ਕਿੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਮਨਾਂਸਿ ਕਠਿਨਾਨਿ ਸਨ੍ਤਿ?
18 Having eyes, do you not see? Having ears, do you not hear? Do you not remember?
ਸਤ੍ਸੁ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਕਿੰ ਨ ਪਸ਼੍ਯਥ? ਸਤ੍ਸੁ ਕਰ੍ਣੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਕਿੰ ਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣੁਥ? ਨ ਸ੍ਮਰਥ ਚ?
19 When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They told him, "Twelve."
ਯਦਾਹੰ ਪਞ੍ਚਪੂਪਾਨ੍ ਪਞ੍ਚਸਹਸ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਾਣਾਂ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਭੰਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਦੱਤਵਾਨ੍ ਤਦਾਨੀਂ ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਵਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਪੂਪੈਃ ਪੂਰ੍ਣਾਨ੍ ਕਤਿ ਡੱਲਕਾਨ੍ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੀਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ? ਤੇ(ਅ)ਕਥਯਨ੍ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਡੱਲਕਾਨ੍|
20 "When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" And they said, "Seven."
ਅਪਰਞ੍ਚ ਯਦਾ ਚਤੁਃਸਹਸ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਾਣਾਂ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਪੂਪਾਨ੍ ਭੰਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾਦਦਾਂ ਤਦਾ ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਤਿਰਿਕ੍ਤਪੂਪਾਨਾਂ ਕਤਿ ਡੱਲਕਾਨ੍ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੀਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ? ਤੇ ਕਥਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ ਸਪ੍ਤਡੱਲਕਾਨ੍|
21 He asked them, "Do you not yet understand?"
ਤਦਾ ਸ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਧੁਨਾਪਿ ਕੁਤੋ ਬੋਦ੍ੱਵੁੰ ਨ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੁਥ?
22 He came to Beth-Sayada. They brought a blind man to him, and begged Yeshua to touch him.
ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਬੈਤ੍ਸੈਦਾਨਗਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾ ਅਨ੍ਧਮੇਕੰ ਨਰੰ ਤਤ੍ਸਮੀਪਮਾਨੀਯ ਤੰ ਸ੍ਪ੍ਰਸ਼਼੍ਟੁੰ ਤੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥਯਾਞ੍ਚਕ੍ਰਿਰੇ|
23 He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.
ਤਦਾ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਨ੍ਧਸ੍ਯ ਕਰੌ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੀਤ੍ਵਾ ਨਗਰਾਦ੍ ਬਹਿਰ੍ਦੇਸ਼ੰ ਤੰ ਨੀਤਵਾਨ੍; ਤੰਨੇਤ੍ਰੇ ਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਠੀਵੰ ਦੱਤ੍ਵਾ ਤਦ੍ਗਾਤ੍ਰੇ ਹਸ੍ਤਾਵਰ੍ਪਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੰ ਪਪ੍ਰੱਛ, ਕਿਮਪਿ ਪਸ਼੍ਯਸਿ?
24 He looked up, and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking."
ਸ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਮੀਲ੍ਯ ਜਗਾਦ, ਵ੍ਰੁʼਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਵਤ੍ ਮਨੁਜਾਨ੍ ਗੱਛਤੋ ਨਿਰੀਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੇ|
25 Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He made him look up, and was restored, and saw everything clearly.
ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਪੁਨਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਯ ਨਯਨਯੋ ਰ੍ਹਸ੍ਤਾਵਰ੍ਪਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਮੀਲਯਾਮਾਸ; ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਸ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਥੋ ਭੂਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ੍ਪਸ਼਼੍ਟਰੂਪੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਦਦਰ੍ਸ਼|
26 He sent him away to his house, saying, "Do not enter into the village."
ਤਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਤ੍ਵੰ ਗ੍ਰਾਮੰ ਮਾ ਗੱਛ ਗ੍ਰਾਮਸ੍ਥੰ ਕਮਪਿ ਚ ਕਿਮਪ੍ਯਨੁਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਨਿਜਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੰ ਯਾਹੀਤ੍ਯਾਦਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤੰ ਨਿਜਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੰ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਤਵਾਨ੍|
27 Yeshua went out, with his disciples, into the villages of Qesarya Dephilipus. On the way he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that I am?"
ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੈਃ ਸਹਿਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਕੈਸਰੀਯਾਫਿਲਿਪਿਪੁਰੰ ਜਗਾਮ, ਪਥਿ ਗੱਛਨ੍ ਤਾਨਪ੍ਰੁʼੱਛਤ੍ ਕੋ(ਅ)ਹਮ੍ ਅਤ੍ਰ ਲੋਕਾਃ ਕਿੰ ਵਦਨ੍ਤਿ?
28 And they said to him, saying, "Yukhanan the Baptist, and others say Eliya, but others: one of the prophets."
ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੂਚੁਃ ਤ੍ਵਾਂ ਯੋਹਨੰ ਮੱਜਕੰ ਵਦਨ੍ਤਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਕੇਪਿ ਕੇਪਿ ਏਲਿਯੰ ਵਦਨ੍ਤਿ; ਅਪਰੇ ਕੇਪਿ ਕੇਪਿ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦਿਨਾਮ੍ ਏਕੋ ਜਨ ਇਤਿ ਵਦਨ੍ਤਿ|
29 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Kipha answered, "You are the Meshikha."
ਅਥ ਸ ਤਾਨਪ੍ਰੁʼੱਛਤ੍ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਕੋਹਮ੍? ਇਤ੍ਯਤ੍ਰ ਯੂਯੰ ਕਿੰ ਵਦਥ? ਤਦਾ ਪਿਤਰਃ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵਦਤ੍ ਭਵਾਨ੍ ਅਭਿਸ਼਼ਿਕ੍ਤਸ੍ਤ੍ਰਾਤਾ|
30 He commanded them that they should tell no one about him.
ਤਤਃ ਸ ਤਾਨ੍ ਗਾਢਮਾਦਿਸ਼ਦ੍ ਯੂਯੰ ਮਮ ਕਥਾ ਕਸ੍ਮੈਚਿਦਪਿ ਮਾ ਕਥਯਤ|
31 He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
ਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯਪੁਤ੍ਰੇਣਾਵਸ਼੍ਯੰ ਬਹਵੋ ਯਾਤਨਾ ਭੋਕ੍ਤਵ੍ਯਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨਲੋਕੈਃ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕੈਰਧ੍ਯਾਪਕੈਸ਼੍ਚ ਸ ਨਿਨ੍ਦਿਤਃ ਸਨ੍ ਘਾਤਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ ਤ੍ਰੁʼਤੀਯਦਿਨੇ ਉੱਥਾਸ੍ਯਤਿ ਚ, ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨੁਪਦੇਸ਼਼੍ਟੁਮਾਰਭ੍ਯ ਕਥਾਮਿਮਾਂ ਸ੍ਪਸ਼਼੍ਟਮਾਚਸ਼਼੍ਟ|
32 He spoke to them openly. Kipha took him, and began to rebuke him.
ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਪਿਤਰਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਯ ਹਸ੍ਤੌ ਧ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੰ ਤਰ੍ੱਜਿਤਵਾਨ੍|
33 But he, turning around, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Kipha, and said, "Get behind me, Satana. For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of humans."
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ ਮੁਖੰ ਪਰਾਵਰ੍ਤ੍ਯ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਗਣੰ ਨਿਰੀਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯ ਪਿਤਰੰ ਤਰ੍ਜਯਿਤ੍ਵਾਵਾਦੀਦ੍ ਦੂਰੀਭਵ ਵਿਘ੍ਨਕਾਰਿਨ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੀਯਕਾਰ੍ੱਯਾਦਪਿ ਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯਕਾਰ੍ੱਯੰ ਤੁਭ੍ਯੰ ਰੋਚਤਤਰਾਂ|
34 He called the crowd to himself with his disciples, and said to them, "If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
ਅਥ ਸ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਂਸ਼੍ਚਾਹੂਯ ਜਗਾਦ ਯਃ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਨ੍ ਮਾਮਨੁਗਨ੍ਤੁਮ੍ ਇੱਛਤਿ ਸ ਆਤ੍ਮਾਨੰ ਦਾਮ੍ਯਤੁ, ਸ੍ਵਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੰ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੀਤ੍ਵਾ ਮਤ੍ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਦ੍ ਆਯਾਤੁ|
35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.
ਯਤੋ ਯਃ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਾਣੰ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਤੁਮਿੱਛਤਿ ਸ ਤੰ ਹਾਰਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਃ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਨ੍ ਮਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦਾਰ੍ਥਞ੍ਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੰ ਹਾਰਯਤਿ ਸ ਤੰ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
36 For what does it profit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?
ਅਪਰਞ੍ਚ ਮਨੁਜਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੰ ਜਗਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਯ ਯਦਿ ਸ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਾਣੰ ਹਾਰਯਤਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਕੋ ਲਾਭਃ?
37 Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?
ਨਰਃ ਸ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਾਣਵਿਨਿਮਯੇਨ ਕਿੰ ਦਾਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੋਤਿ?
38 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
