< Mark 10 >

1 He arose from there and came into the borders of Yehuda and beyond the Yurdinan. Crowds came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.
Rising up thence He comes into the coasts of Judea, through the region beyond the Jordan; and the multitudes again come to Him, and, as was His custom, He again taught them.
2 Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"
And the Pharisees having come forward asked Him, If it is lawful for a man to send away his wife? tempting Him.
3 He answered, "What did Mushe command you?"
And He responding said to them, What did Moses command you?
4 They said, "Mushe allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her."
And they said, Moses permitted to write a book of divorcement, and to send her away.
5 But Yeshua said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.
Jesus said to them, On account of the hardness of your heart he wrote this commandment to you.
6 But from the beginning of the creation, he made them male and female.
But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female.
7 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife,
On this account a man shall leave his father and his mother,
8 and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.
and they two shall be one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9 What therefore God has joined together, let no one separate."
And what God joined together, let no man separate.
10 In the house, the disciples asked him again about the same matter.
And His disciples again around Him in the house asked Him. And He says to them,
11 He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.
Whosoever may send away his wife, and marry another, commits adultery unto her.
12 If she herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery."
And if she having sent away her husband, may marry another, she commits adultery.
13 They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.
And they continued to bring little children to Him, that He should touch them: but the disciples rebuked those bringing them.
14 But when Yeshua saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, "Allow the little children to come to me. Do not forbid them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
But Jesus seeing was displeased, and said to them, Suffer the little children to come unto me; and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Truly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it."
Truly, I say unto you, Whosoever may not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, can not enter into it.
16 And he took them in his arms, laying his hands on them, and blessed them.
And taking them up in His arms, putting His hands on them, He continued to bless them copiously.
17 As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, "Good Teacher, what must I do that I may inherit everlasting life?" (aiōnios g166)
And He traveling along the road, one having run to Him and worshiping Him, asked Him, Good Teacher, what shall I do in order that I may inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
18 Yeshua said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.
And Jesus said to him, Why do you call me good? No one is good but One, God.
19 You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not give false testimony,' 'Do not defraud,' 'Honor your father and mother.'"
You know the commandments, thou must not commit adultery, thou must not murder, thou must not steal, thou must not bear false witness, thou must not defraud, honor thy father and mother.
20 And he said to him, "Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth."
And he said to Him, Teacher, I have kept all these from my youth.
21 Yeshua looking at him loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross."
Jesus looking on him loved him, and said to him, One thing is wanting to thee: go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
22 But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.
And he being grieved at the word, went away sorrowing: for he had great possessions.
23 Yeshua looked around, and said to his disciples, "How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God."
And Jesus looking around, says to His disciples; How hardly shall those having riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Yeshua answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God.
And the disciples were astonished at His words, and Jesus again responding, says to them, Children, how difficult it is to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for a rich person to enter into the Kingdom of God."
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to go into the kingdom of God.
26 They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, "Then who can be saved?"
And they were astonished exceedingly, saying to one another, And who is able to be saved?
27 Yeshua, looking at them, said, "With humans it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God."
And Jesus looking upon them says, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God.
28 Kipha began to tell him, "Look, we have left everything, and have followed you."
Peter began to say to Him, Behold, we have left all things, and followed thee.
29 Yeshua said, "Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News,
Jesus said, Truly I say unto you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, on account of me and the gospel,
30 but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come, everlasting life. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
except he may receive a hundredfold now in this time, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the coming age eternal life. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
31 But many who are first will be last; and the last first."
But many who are first shall be last; and the last first.
32 They were on the way, going up to Urishlim; and Yeshua was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.
And they were in the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going before them: and they were amazed; and following they were afraid. And taking the twelve to Himself, again He began to tell them the things which were about to happen to Him;
33 "Look, we are going up to Urishlim. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to foreigners.
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and they will deliver Him to the Gentiles:
34 They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. After three days he will rise again."
and they will mock Him, and will scourge Him, and will spit upon Him, and will kill Him; and He will rise the third day.
35 Yaquv and Yukhanan, the sons of Zabedai, came near to him, and said to him, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask."
James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come to Him, saying, Teacher, we wish that you may do unto us whatsoever we may ask.
36 He said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?"
And He said to them, What do you wish for me to do for you?
37 They said to him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory."
And they said to Him, Grant unto us, that we may sit, one on thy right, and one on thy left, in thy glory.
38 But Yeshua said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?"
And Jesus said to them, You know not what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup which I drink? and to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?
39 And they said to him, "We are able." And Yeshua said to them, "You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;
And they said to Him, We are able. And Jesus said to them, You shall indeed drink the cup which I drink, and be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized:
40 but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared."
but to sit on my right, and on my left, is not mine to give, but is for those for whom it has been prepared.
41 When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards Yaquv and Yukhanan.
And the ten hearing, began to be indignant concerning James and John.
42 Yeshua summoned them, and said to them, "You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
And Jesus calling them to Him, says to them: You know that those seeming competent to rule the Gentiles domineer over them; and their great ones exercise authority over them.
43 But it will not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.
But it is not so among you: but whosoever may wish to be great among you, shall be your servant:
44 And whoever wants to be first among you must be slave of all.
and whosoever of you may wish to be first, shall be the slave of all:
45 For the Son of Man also did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
for the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His soul a ransom for many.
46 They came to Irikhu. As he went out from Irikhu, with his disciples and a large crowd, Timai bar Timai, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
And they come into Jericho: and He and His disciples and a great multitude going out from Jericho, blind Bartimeus, the son of Timeus, was sitting by the wayside, begging.
47 When he heard that it was Yeshua the Natsraya, he began to cry out, and say, "Yeshua, Son of Dawid, have mercy on me."
And hearing that it is Jesus the Nazarene, began to cry out, and say, Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me.
48 Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he shouted all the louder, "Son of Dawid, have mercy on me."
And many continued to rebuke him that he should keep silent: but he continued to cry out much more, O son of David, have mercy on me.
49 Yeshua stood still, and said, "Call him." They called the blind man, saying to him, "Cheer up. Get up. He is calling you."
And Jesus standing, said, that he should be called. And they call the blind man, saying to him, Take courage: rise up, He calls you.
50 He, casting away his coat, jumped up, and came to Yeshua.
And he, casting away his cloak, rising, came to Jesus.
51 Yeshua asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said to him, "Rabbuli, that I may see again."
And Jesus responding said to him, What do you wish that I shall do to you? And the blind man said to Him, Great Master, that I may look up.
52 Yeshua said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight, and followed him on the road.
And Jesus said to him, Go; thy faith hath saved thee: and immediately he looked up, and followed Jesus in the way.
