Luke 22
1 Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, drew near.
La fête des Azymes, qu’on appelle la Pâque, approchait;
2 The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill him, for they feared the people.
et les Princes des prêtres et les scribes cherchaient comment ils feraient mourir Jésus; car ils craignaient le peuple.
3 Satana entered into Yehudah, who was called Sekariuta, who was numbered with the twelve.
Or, Satan entra dans Judas, surnommé Iscariote, du nombre des Douze;
4 He went away, and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.
et celui-ci alla s’entendre avec les Princes des prêtres et les magistrats, sur la manière de le leur livrer.
5 They were glad, and agreed to give him money.
Eux, pleins de joie, promirent de lui donner de l’argent.
6 He consented, and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the crowd.
Il s’engagea de son côté, et il cherchait une occasion favorable de leur livrer Jésus à l’insu de la foule.
7 The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover lamb must be sacrificed.
Arriva le jour des Azymes, où l’on devait immoler la Pâque.
8 He sent Kipha and Yukhanan, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat."
Jésus envoya Pierre et Jean: « Allez, leur dit-il, nous préparer le repas pascal. »
9 They said to him, "Where do you want us to prepare?"
Ils lui dirent: « Où veux-tu que nous le préparions? »
10 He said to them, "Look, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.
Il leur répondit: « En entrant dans la ville, t rencontrerez un homme portant une cruche d’eau; suivez-le dans la maison où il entrera,
11 Tell the master of the house, 'The Teacher says to you, "Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?"'
et vous direz au maître de cette maison: Le Maître te fait dire: Où est la salle où je mangerai la Pâque avec mes disciples?
12 He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there."
Et il vous montrera un grand cénacle meublé: préparez-y ce qu’il faut. »
13 They went, found things as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
Ils partirent, et trouvèrent les choses comme il le leur avait dit; et ils préparèrent la Pâque.
14 When the hour had come, he reclined at the table, and the apostles joined him.
L’heure étant venue, Jésus se mit à table, et les douze Apôtres avec lui;
15 He said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
et il leur dit: « J’ai désiré d’un grand désir de manger cette Pâque avec vous avant de souffrir.
16 for I say to you, I will not eat of it again until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God."
Car, je vous le dis, je ne la mangerai plus jusqu’à la Pâque parfaite, célébrée dans le royaume de Dieu. »
17 He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, "Take this, and share it among yourselves,
Et prenant une coupe, il rendit grâces et dit: « Prenez et partagez entre vous.
18 for I tell you, from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the Kingdom of God comes."
Car, je vous le dis, je ne boirai plus du fruit de la vigne, jusqu’à ce que le royaume de Dieu soit venu. »
19 He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
Puis il prit du pain, et ayant rendu grâces, il le rompit et le leur donna, en disant: « Ceci est mon corps, qui est donné pour vous: faites ceci en mémoire de moi. »
20 Likewise, he took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Il fit de même pour la coupe, après le souper, disant: « Cette coupe est la nouvelle alliance en mon sang, lequel est versé pour vous.
21 But look, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.
Cependant voici que la main de celui qui me trahit est avec moi à cette table.
22 The Son of Man indeed goes, as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed."
Quant au Fils de l’homme, il va selon ce qui a été décrété; mais malheur à l’homme par qui il est trahi! »
23 They began to question among themselves, which of them it was who would do this thing.
Et les disciples se mirent à se demander les uns aux autres quel était celui d’entre eux qui devait faire cela.
24 There arose also a contention among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.
Il s’éleva aussi parmi eux une dispute, pour savoir lequel d’entre eux devait être estimé le plus grand.
25 He said to them, "The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called 'benefactors.'
Jésus leur dit: « Les rois des nations dominent sur elles, et ceux qui leur commandent sont appelés Bienfaiteurs.
26 But not so with you. But one who is the greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.
Pour vous, ne faites pas ainsi; mais que le plus grand parmi vous soit comme le dernier, et celui qui gouverne comme celui qui sert.
27 For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? But I am in the midst of you as one who serves.
Car quel est le plus grand, de celui qui est à table, ou de celui qui sert? N’est-ce pas celui qui est à table? Et moi, cependant, je suis au milieu de vous comme celui qui sert.
28 But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.
Vous, vous êtes demeurés avec moi dans mes épreuves;
29 I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,
et moi, je vous prépare un royaume, comme mon Père me l’a préparé,
30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israyel."
afin que vous mangiez et bu viez à ma table dans mon royaume, et que vous soyez assis sur des trônes, pour juger les douze tribus d’Israël. »
31 And the Lord said, "Shimon, Shimon, look, Satana has demanded to have you all, to sift you like wheat,
Et le Seigneur dit: « Simon, Simon, voici que Satan t’a réclamés pour te cribler comme le froment;
32 but I prayed for you, that your faith would not fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers."
mais j’ai prié pour toi, afin que ta foi ne défaille pas; et toi, quand tu seras converti, affermis tes frères. —
33 He said to him, "Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death."
Seigneur, lui dit Pierre, je suis prêt à aller avec toi et en prison et à la mort. »
34 He said, "I tell you, Kipha, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times."
Jésus lui répondit: « Je te le dis, Pierre, le coq ne chantera pas aujourd’hui, que tu n’aies nié trois fois de me connaître. »
35 He said to them, "When I sent you out without money bag, and pack, and shoes, did you lack anything?" They said, "Nothing."
Il dit encore à ses disciples: « Quand je vous ai envoyés sans bourse, ni sac, ni chaussures, avez-vous manqué de quelque chose? —
36 Then he said to them, "But now, whoever has a money bag must take it, and likewise a pack. Whoever has none, must sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
De rien, » lui dirent-ils. Il ajouta: « Mais maintenant, que celui qui a une bourse la prenne, et de même celui qui a un sac; et que celui qui n’a pas d’épée vende son manteau, et en achète une.
37 For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: 'And he was numbered with transgressors.' For that which concerns me has an end."
Car, je vous le dis, il faut encore que cette parole de l’Écriture s’accomplisse en moi: Il a été mis au rang des malfaiteurs. En effet, ce qui me concerne touche à sa fin. »
38 They said, "Lord, look, here are two swords." He said to them, "That is enough."
Ils lui dirent: « Seigneur, il y a ici deux épées. » Il leur répondit: « C’est assez. »
39 He came out, and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him.
Etant sorti, il s’en alla, selon sa coutume, vers le mont des Oliviers, et ses disciples le suivirent.
40 When he was at the place, he said to them, "Pray that you do not enter into temptation."
Lorsqu’il fut arrivé dans ce lieu, il leur dit: « Priez, afin de ne pas tomber en tentation. »
41 He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and he knelt down and prayed,
Puis il s’éloigna d’eux à la distance d’un jet de pierre; et s’étant mis à genoux, il priait,
42 saying, "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done."
disant: « Père, si tu veux, éloignes de moi ce calice! Cependant que ce ne soit pas ma volonté, mais la vôtre qui se fasse. »
43 And an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.
Alors lui apparut du ciel un ange qui le fortifiait.
44 Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.
Et se trouvant en agonie, il priait plus instamment, et sa sueur devint comme des gouttes de sang découlant jusqu’à terre.
45 When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping because of grief,
Après avoir prié, il se leva et vint vers les disciples, qu’il trouva endormis de tristesse.
46 and said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation."
Et il leur dit: « Pourquoi dormez-vous? Levez-vous et priez, afin de ne pas entrer en tentation. »
47 While he was still speaking, look, a crowd came, and he who was called Yehudah, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Yeshua to kiss him.
Comme il parlait encore, voici qu’une troupe de gens parut; celui qu’on appelait Judas, l’un des Douze, marchait en tête. Il s’approcha de Jésus pour le baiser.
48 But Yeshua said to him, "Yehudah, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?"
Et Jésus lui dit: « Judas, tu livres le Fils de l’homme par un baiser! »
49 When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?"
Ceux qui étaient avec Jésus, voyant ce qui allait arriver, lui dirent: « Seigneur, si nous frappions de l’épée? »
50 A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
Et l’un d’eux frappa le serviteur du grand prêtre, et lui emporta l’oreille droite.
51 But Yeshua answered and said, "No more of this." Then he touched his ear and healed him.
Mais Jésus dit: « Restez-en là. » Et, ayant touché l’oreille de cet homme, il le guérit.
52 Yeshua said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him, "Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
Puis, s’adressant aux Princes des prêtres, aux officiers du temple et aux Anciens qui étaient venus pour le prendre, il leur dit: « Vous êtes venus comme après un brigand, avec des épées et des bâtons.
53 When I was with you in the temple daily, you did not stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness."
J’étais tous les jours avec vous dans le temple, et vous n’avez mis pas la main sur moi. Mais voici votre heure et la puissance des ténèbres. »
54 They seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest's house. But Kipha followed from a distance.
S’étant saisis de lui, ils l’emmenèrent et le conduisirent dans la maison du grand prêtre; Pierre suivait de loin.
55 When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and had sat down together, Kipha sat among them.
Ayant allumé du feu au milieu de la cour, ils s’assirent autour, et Pierre s’assit parmi eux.
56 A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, "This man also was with him."
Une servante, qui le vit assis devant le feu, l’ayant regardé fixement, dit: « Cet homme était aussi avec lui. »
57 But he denied it, saying, "Woman, I do not know him."
Mais Pierre renia Jésus, en disant: « Femme, je ne le connais point. »
58 After a little while someone else saw him, and said, "You also are one of them." But Kipha answered, "Man, I am not."
Peu après, un autre l’ayant vu, dit: « Tu es aussi de ces gens-là. » Pierre répondit: « Mon ami, je n’en suis point. »
59 After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, "Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean."
Une heure s’était écoulée, lorsqu’un autre se mit à dire avec assurance: « Certainement cet homme était aussi avec lui, car il est de la Galilée. »
60 But Kipha said, "Man, I do not know what you are talking about." Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
Pierre répondit: « Mon ami, je ne sais ce que tu veux dire. » Et aussitôt, comme il parlait encore, le coq chanta.
61 The Lord turned, and looked at Kipha. Then Kipha remembered the Lord's word, how he said to him, "Before the rooster crows today you will deny me three times."
Et le Seigneur, s’étant retourné, regarda Pierre, et Pierre se souvint de la parole que le Seigneur lui avait dite: « Avant que le coq chante, tu me renieras trois fois. »
62 And he went out, and wept bitterly.
Et étant sorti de la maison, Pierre pleura amèrement.
63 The men who held him began mocking and beating him.
Or, ceux qui tenaient Jésus se moquaient de lui et le frappaient.
64 And having blindfolded him, they were striking his face and kept asking him, saying, "Prophesy, who is the one who struck you?"
Ils lui bandèrent les yeux, et, le frappant au visage, ils l’interrogeaient, disant: « Devine qui t’a frappé. »
65 They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.
Et ils proféraient contre lui beaucoup d’autres injures.
66 As soon as it was day, the council of the elders of the people gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,
Dès qu’il fit jour, les Anciens du peuple, les Princes des prêtres et les scribes se réunirent, et amenèrent Jésus dans leur assemblée. Ils dirent: « Si tu es le Christ, dis-le-nous. »
67 "If you are the Meshikha, tell us." But he said to them, "If I tell you, you won't believe,
Il leur répondit: « Si je vous le dis, vous ne le croirez pas;
68 and if I ask, you will not answer me, or let me go.
et si je vous interroge, vous ne me répondrez pas et ne me relâcherez pas.
69 From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God."
Désormais le Fils de l’homme sera assis à la droite de la puissance de Dieu. »
70 They all said, "Are you then the Son of God?" He said to them, "You say that I am."
Alors ils dirent tous: « Tu es donc le Fils de Dieu? » Il leur répondit: « Vous le dites, je le suis. »
71 They said, "Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth."
Et ils dirent: « Qu’avons-nous encore besoin de témoignage? Nous l’avons nous-mêmes entendu de sa bouche. »
