< Leviticus 9 >
1 It happened on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel;
And it came to pass on the eighth day, [that] Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel;
2 and he said to Aaron, "Take a calf from the herd for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD.
And he said to Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering, without blemish, and offer [them] before the LORD.
3 You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'Take a male goat for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt offering;
And to the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin-offering; and a calf and a lamb, [both] of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt-offering;
4 and a bull and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meal offering mixed with oil: for today the LORD appears to you.'"
Also a bullock and a ram for peace-offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat-offering mingled with oil: for to-day the LORD will appear to you.
5 They brought what Moses commanded before the Tent of Meeting: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.
And they brought [that] which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.
6 Moses said, "This is the thing which the LORD commanded that you should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear to you."
And Moses said, This [is] the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear to you.
7 Moses said to Aaron, "Draw near to the altar, and offer your sin offering, and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them; as the LORD commanded."
And Moses said to Aaron, Go to the altar, and offer thy sin-offering, and thy burnt-offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as the LORD commanded.
8 So Aaron drew near to the altar, and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.
Aaron therefore went to the altar, and slew the calf of the sin-offering, which [was] for himself.
9 The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar:
And the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put [it] upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar:
10 but the fat, and the kidneys, and the cover from the liver of the sin offering, he burned upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses.
But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin-offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses.
11 The flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp.
And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp.
12 He killed the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons delivered the blood to him, and he sprinkled it around on the altar.
And he slew the burnt-offering; and Aaron's sons presented to him the blood, which he sprinkled around upon the altar.
13 They delivered the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, and the head: and he burned them upon the altar.
And they presented the burnt-offering to him, with the pieces of it, and the head: and he burnt [them] upon the altar.
14 He washed the entrails and the legs, and burned them on the burnt offering on the altar.
And he washed the inwards and the legs, and burnt [them] upon the burnt-offering on the altar.
15 He presented the people's offering, and took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people, and killed it, and offered it for sin, like the first.
And he brought the people's offering, and took the goat, which [was] the sin-offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first.
16 He presented the burnt offering, and offered it according to the ordinance.
And he brought the burnt-offering, and offered it according to the manner.
17 He presented the meal offering, and filled his hand from there, and burned it upon the altar, besides the burnt offering of the morning.
And he brought the meat-offering, and took a handful of it, and burnt [it] upon the altar, beside the burnt-sacrifice of the morning.
18 He also killed the bull and the ram, the sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron's sons delivered to him the blood, which he sprinkled around on the altar,
He slew also the bullock and the ram [for] a sacrifice of peace-offerings, which [was] for the people: and Aaron's sons presented to him the blood, which he sprinkled around upon the altar,
19 and the fat of the bull and of the ram, the fat tail, and that which covers the entrails, and the kidneys, and the cover of the liver:
And the fat of the bullock, and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth [the inwards], and the kidneys, and the caul [above] the liver:
20 and they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burned the fat on the altar:
And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar:
21 and the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave offering before the LORD, as Moses commanded.
And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved [for] a wave-offering before the LORD; as Moses commanded.
22 Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings.
And Aaron lifted up his hand towards the people, and blessed them; and came down from offering the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and peace-offerings.
23 Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.
And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.
24 There came forth fire from before the LORD, and consumed the burnt offering and the fat upon the altar: and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
And there came out a fire from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt-offering and the fat: [which], when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
