John 11
1 Now a certain man was sick, Leayzar from Beth-Naiya, of the village of Maryam and her sister, Marta.
個病人，名叫拉匝祿，住在伯達尼，即瑪利亞和她姊姊瑪爾大所住的村若莊。
2 It was that Maryam who had anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother, Leayzar, was sick.
：利亞就是那曾用香液傅抹過主，並用自己的頭髮擦乾過他的腳婦人，患病的拉匝十是他的兄弟。
3 The sisters therefore sent to him, saying, "Lord, look, the one you love is sick."
他們姊妹二人便派人到耶穌那裏說: 「主啊! 你所愛的病了! 」
4 But when Yeshua heard it, he said, "This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, that God's Son may be glorified by it."
耶一聽了便說: 「這病不致於死，只是為彰顯天主的光榮，並為叫天主子因此受到光榮。」
5 Now Yeshua loved Marta, and her sister, and Leayzar.
耶穌素愛瑪爾大及她的妹妹和拉匝祿。
6 When therefore he heard that he was sick, he stayed two days in the place where he was.
當他聽說拉匝祿病了，仍在原地逗留了兩天。
7 Then after this he said to the disciples, "Let us go into Yehuda again."
此後，才對門徒說: 「我們再往猶太去罷! 」
8 The disciples told him, "Rabbi, the Jewish leaders were just trying to stone you, and are you going there again?"
門徒向他說: 「辣彼，猶太人圖謀砸死你，你又要往那裏去麼？」
9 Yeshua answered, "Are there not twelve hours of daylight? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
耶穌回答說: 「白日不是有十二個時辰麼? 人若在白日行路，不會碰跌，因為看得見這世界的光；
10 But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."
人若在黑夜行路，就要碰跌，因為他沒有光。」
11 He said these things, and after that, he said to them, "Our friend, Leayzar, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep."
耶穌說了這些話，又給他們說: 「我們的朋友拉匝祿睡著了，我要去叫醒他。」
12 Then the disciples said to him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover."
門徒便對他說: 「主，若是他睡著了，必定好了。」
13 Now Yeshua had spoken of his death, but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep.
耶穌原是指他的死說的，他們卻以為是指安眠睡覺說的。
14 So Yeshua said to them plainly then, "Leayzar is dead.
然後，耶穌就明明地向他們說: 「拉匝祿死了。
15 I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless, let us go to him."
為了你們，我喜歡我不在那裏，好叫你們相信；我們到他那裏去罷！」
16 Tama therefore, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, "Let us go also, that we may die with him."
號稱狄狄摩的多默便向其他的同伴說: 「我們也去，同他一起死罷！」
17 So when Yeshua came, he found that he had been in the tomb four days already.
耶穌一到伯達尼，得知拉匝祿在墳墓裏已經四天了。
18 Now Beth-Naiya was near Urishlim, about two miles away.
伯達尼靠近耶路撒冷，相距約十五「斯塔狄」，
19 Many of the Jewish people had come to Marta and Maryam, to console them concerning their brother.
因而有許多猶太人來到瑪爾大和瑪利亞那裏，為她們兄弟的死安慰她們。
20 Then when Marta heard that Yeshua was coming, she went and met him, but Maryam stayed in the house.
瑪爾大一聽說耶穌來了，便去迎接他；瑪利亞仍坐在家裏。
21 Therefore Marta said to Yeshua, "Lord, if you would have been here, my brother would not have died.
瑪爾大對耶穌說: 「若是你在這裏，我的兄弟決不會死!
22 Even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you."
就是現在，我也知道: 你無論向天主求什麼，天主必要賜給你。」
23 Yeshua said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
耶穌對她說: 「你的兄弟必定要復活。」
24 Marta said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
瑪爾大說: 「我知道在末日復活時，他必要復活。」
25 Yeshua said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
耶穌對她說: 「我就是復活，就是生命；信從我的，即使死了，仍要活著；
凡活著而信從我的人，必永遠不死。你信麼？」 (aiōn g165)
27 She said to him, "Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Meshikha, the Son of God, he who comes into the world."
她回答說: 「是的，主，我信你是默西亞，天主子，要來到世界上的那一位。」
28 And when she had said this, she went away, and called Maryam, her sister, secretly, saying, "The Teacher is here, and is calling you."
她說了這話，就去叫她的妹妹瑪利亞，偷偷地說: 「師傅來了，他叫你。」
29 When she heard this, she arose quickly, and went to him.
瑪利亞一聽說，立時起身到耶穌那裏去了。
30 Now Yeshua had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Marta met him.
那時，耶穌還沒有進村莊，仍在瑪爾大迎接他的地方。
31 Then the Yehudeans who were with her in the house, and were consoling her, when they saw Maryam, that she rose up quickly and went out, followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there.
那些同瑪利亞在家，安慰他的猶太人，見她急忙起身出去，便跟著她，以為她往墳墓上去哭泣。
32 Therefore when Maryam came to where Yeshua was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying to him, "Lord, if you would have been here, my brother would not have died."
當瑪利亞來到耶穌所在的地方，一看見他，就俯伏在他腳前，向他說: 「主! 若是你在這裏，我的兄弟決不會死！」
33 When Yeshua therefore saw her weeping, and the Yehudeans weeping who came with her, he was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled,
耶穌看見她哭泣，還有同他一起來的猶太人也哭泣，便心神感傷，難過起來，
34 and said, "Where have you put him?" They told him, "Lord, come and see."
遂說: 「你們把他安放在那裏？」他們回答說: 「主，你來，看罷！」
35 Yeshua wept.
耶穌流淚了。
36 The Yehudeans therefore said, "See how he loved him."
於是猶太人說: 「看，他多麼愛他啊! 」
37 But some of them said, "Could not this man, who opened the eyes of him who was blind, have also kept this man from dying?"
其中有些人說: 「這個開了瞎子眼睛的，豈不能使這人也不死麼？」
38 So Yeshua, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone lay against it.
耶穌心中又感傷起來，來到墳墓前。這墳墓是個洞穴，前面有一塊石頭堵著。
39 Yeshua said, "Take away the stone." Marta, the sister of the dead man, said to him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days."
耶穌說： 「挪開這塊石頭! 」死者的姊姊瑪爾大向他說: 「主！已經臭了，因為已有四天了。」
40 Yeshua said to her, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see God's glory?"
耶穌對她說: 「我不是告訴過你: 如果你信，會看到天主的光榮嗎？」
41 So they took away the stone. And Yeshua lifted up his eyes, and said, "Father, I thank you that you listened to me.
他們便挪開了石頭；耶穌舉目向上說: 「父啊！我感謝你，因為你俯聽了我。
42 I know that you always listen to me, but because of the crowd that stands around I said this, that they may believe that you sent me."
我本來知道你常常俯聽我，但是我說這話，是為了四周站立的群眾，好叫他們信是你派遣了我。」
43 When he had said this, he shouted with a loud voice, "Leayzar, come out."
說完這話，便大聲喊說: 「納匝祿! 出來罷! 」
44 The man who had died came out, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Yeshua said to them, "Free him, and let him go."
死者便出來了，腳和手都纏著布條，面上還蒙著汗巾。耶穌向他們說: 「解開他，讓他行走罷。」
45 Therefore many of the Yehudeans, who came to Maryam and had seen the things which he did, believed in him.
那些來到瑪利亞那裏的猶太人，一看到耶穌所行的事，就有許多人則口召
46 But some of them went away to the Pharisees, and told them the things which Yeshua had done.
他們中也有一些到法利賽人那裏去，把耶穌所行的，報告給他們。
47 The chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, "What are we doing? For this man does many signs.
因此，司祭長和法利賽人召集了會議說: 「這人行了許多奇跡，我們怎麼辦呢？
48 If we leave him alone like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation."
如果讓他這樣，眾都會信從，羅馬人必要來，連我們的聖殿和民族都除掉。」
49 But a certain one of them, Qayapha, being high priest that year, said to them, "You know nothing at all,
他們中有一個叫蓋法的，正是那一年的大司祭，對他們說: 「你們什麼都不懂，
50 nor do you consider that it is advantageous for you that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish."
也不想想: 叫一個人替百姓死，以免全民族滅亡；這為你們多麼有利。」
51 Now he did not say this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Yeshua would die for the nation,
這話不是由他自己說出的，只因為他是那年的大司祭，才預言了耶穌將為民族而死；
52 and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.
不但為猶太民族，而且也是為使那四散的天主的兒女都聚集歸一。
53 So from that day on they plotted to kill him.
從那一天起，他們就議決要殺害耶穌。
54 Yeshua therefore walked no more openly among the Yehudeans, but departed from there into the country near the wilderness, to a city called Aphreeim; and stayed there with his disciples.
因此，耶穌不再公開地在猶太人中往來，卻從那裏往臨近荒野的地方去，來到一座名叫厄弗辣因的城，在那裡和他的門徒住下了。
55 Now the Jewish Passover was near, and many went up from the country to Urishlim before the Passover, to purify themselves.
猶太人的逾越節臨近了，所以，許多人在逾越節前，從鄉間上了耶路撒冷，要聖潔自己。
56 Then they sought for Yeshua and spoke one with another, as they stood in the temple, "What do you think—that he is not coming to the feast at all?"
他們就尋找耶穌，並站在聖殿內，彼此談論說: 「你們想什麼？他來不來過節呢？」
57 Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where he was, he should report it, that they might arrest him.
司祭長和法利賽人早已頒發命令: 如果有人知道他在那裡，就該通知他們，好去捉拿他。
