< Job 38 >

1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind,
BOEIPA loh Job te hlipuei khui lamloh a doo tih,
2 "Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
Mingnah aka tal olthui neh cilsuep aka hmuep sak te unim?
3 Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me.
Hlang bangla na pumpu yen lamtah nang kan dawt bangla kai he n'tueng laeh.
4 "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.
Diklai ka suen vaengah melam na om? Yakmingnah na ming atah thui lah.
5 Who determined its measures, if you know? Or who stretched the line on it?
U loh a khodang a khueh khaw na ming van nim? A soah rhilam aka yueng khaw unim?
6 Whereupon were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,
A buenhol te me dongah nim a buen tih, a bangkil lung te unim aka thuinuet?
7 when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Mincang aisi rhoek rhenten tamhoe uh tih Pathen ca rhoek boeih yuhui uh.
8 "Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth from the womb,

9 when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness,

11 and said, 'Here you may come, but no further. Here your proud waves shall be stayed?'

12 "Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place;

13 that it might take hold of the farthest parts of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?
Te lamkah halang rhoek khoek ham neh, diklai hmoi a tuuk sak ham khaw.
14 It is changed as clay under the seal, and stands forth as a garment.
Dikpo kutbuen bangla poehlip tih pueinak bangla pai.
15 From the wicked, their light is withheld. The high arm is broken.
Halang rhoek te amamih kah vangnah a hloh pah tih, ban a thueng khaw a tlawt sak.
16 "Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep?
Tuitunli kah tuiput la na pawk tih, tuidung kah khenah dongah na pongpa vai a?
17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?
Nang taengah dueknah vongka rhoek ah uh tih dueknah hlipkhup vongka te na hmuh a?
18 Have you comprehended the earth in its breadth? Declare, if you know it all.
Diklai hmuenka duela na yakming nim? A cungkuem la na ming atah thui lah.
19 "What is the way to the dwelling of light? As for darkness, where is its place,
Vangnah aka om longpuei he menim? Hmaisuep kah a hmuen he melae?
20 that you should take it to its bound, that you should discern the paths to its house?
Te te amah khorhi la na thak van tih a im kah a hawn khaw na yakming van nim?
21 Surely you know, for you were born then, and the number of your days is great.
Nang n'sak tih na khohnin kah a tarhing a puh daengah ni na ming pueng.
22 Have you entered the treasuries of the snow, or have you seen the treasures of the hail,
Vuelsong thakvoh khuila na kun tih rhaelnu thakvoh na hmuh a?
23 which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
Te te rhal tue vaengkah ham khaw, caemrhal neh caemtloek tue vaengkah ham khaw ka tuem pueng.
24 By what way is the lightning distributed, or the east wind scattered on the earth?
Diklai ah kanghawn loh a taekyak tih, vangnah loh a tael longpuei te menim?
25 Who has cut a channel for the flood water, or the path for the thunderstorm;
Tuilong lungpook ham neh rhaek ol ham longpuei aka tael te unim?
26 To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; on the wilderness, in which there is no man;
A khuiah tongpa aka om pawh khosoek neh hlang aka tal khohmuen ah khaw rhotui aka tlan sak la,
27 to satisfy the waste and desolate ground, to cause the tender grass to spring forth?
khohli rhamrhael neh imrhong aka hah sak la, toitlim annoe aka poe sak la om coeng.
28 Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew?
Khotlan te a napa om a? Buemtui tuicip te ulong a sak?
29 Out of whose womb came the ice? The gray frost of the sky, who has given birth to it?
Rhaelnu he u kah bungko lamkah nim a thoeng tih, vaan vueltling te ulong a sak?
30 The waters become hard like stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen.
Tui khaw lungto bangla thuh uh tih tuidung hman ah khal.
31 "Can you fasten the chains of Kimah, or loosen the cords of Kesil?
Airhitbom kah omngaih omloe te na hlaengtang tih buhol phueihrhui khaw na hlawt thai aya?
32 Can you lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season? Or can you lead Aysh with her children?
Mazzaroth aisi te amah tue vaengah na thoeng sak tih Ayish aisi te a ca rhoek neh na mawt a?
33 Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you establish its dominion over the earth?
Vaan kah khosing te na ming atah amah kah laithuithainah te diklai ah na khueh a?
34 "Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover you?
Na ol te khomai dongla na huel thai tih tuili tui te na khuk thai a?
35 Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go? Do they report to you, 'Here we are?'
Rhaek na tueih vaengah cet uh tih nang taengah, “Kaimih la he,” a ti uh a?
36 Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind?
Kodang khuila cueihnah aka khueh te unim? Kopoek khuiah yakmingnah aka pae te unim?
37 Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of the sky,
Cueihnah neh khomong aka tae te unim? Vaan tuitang aka thael te unim?
38 when the dust runs into a mass, and the clods of earth stick together?
Me vaengah lae Laipi a hlawn la a hlom tih dikmuh a man sak?
39 "Can you hunt the prey for the lioness, or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
Sathuengnu hamla maeh na mae pah tih sathuengca kah hingnah na tom pah a?
40 when they crouch in their dens, and lie in wait in the thicket?
Me vaengah lae a khuisaek ah a ngam uh tih thingpuep khui ah a kol uh?
41 Who provides for the raven his prey, when his young ones cry to God, and wander for lack of food?
A sakah te vangak ham aka tawn pah te unim? A camoe, a camoe uh vaengah tah Pathen taengah bomnah a bih uh dae caak mueh la kho a hmang uh.
