< Isaiah 5 >
1 Let me sing for my well beloved a song of my beloved about his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.
Azɔ mele ha dzi ge na nye lɔlɔ̃tɔ tso eƒe waingble ŋuti. Waingble aɖe le nye lɔlɔ̃tɔ si le togbɛ si nyoa nuku la dzi.
2 He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in its midst, and also cut out a winepress in it. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.
Edzobo eme heɖe kpewo le eme, eye wòdo wainka nyuitɔwo ɖe eme. Etu gbetakpɔxɔ ɖe agble la titina, eye wòtu wainfiaƒe hã ɖe afi ma. Ele mɔ kpɔm na waintsetse nyuiwo, gake wotse wain vevewo.
3 "Now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard.
“Azɔ, Yerusalem ŋutsuwo kple Yuda ŋutsuwo, miese ale si nya la katã va yii, eya ta midrɔ̃ ʋɔnu le nye kple nye waingble la dome.
4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to yield grapes, did it yield wild grapes?
Nu ka wòle be mawɔ na nye waingble la esi nyemewɔ nɛ o? Ekema nu ka ta mele mɔ kpɔm na waintsetse nyuiwo, gake wain vevewo ko wòtse?
5 Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away its hedge, and it will be eaten up. I will break down its wall of it, and it will be trampled down.
Azɔ magblɔ nu si wɔ ge mala nye waingble la na mi. Magbã kpɔ ɖa le eŋuti, eye lãwo aɖui. Magbã gli le eŋu ne amewo nafanyae.
6 I will lay it a wasteland. It won't be pruned nor hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it."
Mawɔe wòazu gbegbe, womake eƒe alɔwo alo aga eme o, eye ŋuwo kple aŋɔkawo amie ɖe afi ma. Made se na lilikpowo be womagadza tsi ɖe edzi azɔ o.”
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, look, oppression; for righteousness, but, look, a cry of distress.
Israel ƒe aƒee nye Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la, ƒe waingble, eye Yuda ŋutsuwoe nye eƒe dzidzɔ ƒe wainka siwo wòdo. Ekpɔ mɔ na afia nyui tsotso, ke ʋukɔkɔɖi wòkpɔ; ekpɔ mɔ na nu dzɔdzɔe wɔwɔ, ke konyifavi koe ɖi.
8 Woe to those who join house to house, who lay field to field, until there is no room, and you are made to dwell alone in the midst of the land.
Baba na mi ame siwo le xɔ tsiam ɖe xɔ nu, eye wole agble tsiam ɖe agble nu be teƒe aɖeke megasusɔ o, be woawo ɖeɖe naxɔ anyigba la dzi!
9 In my ears, the LORD of hosts says: "Surely many houses will be desolate, even great and beautiful, unoccupied.
Ale Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la, ka atam mese kple nye towo, “Ne xɔ gãwo mezu gbegbe, eye dziƒoxɔ gãwo mezu aƒedowo o fĩi!
10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield an ephah."
Woakpɔ wain adzafi ɖeka kple afã pɛ ko le waingble agbleka ewo sɔŋ me, eye ne woƒã bli agba ɖeka la, bli kotoku ɖeka pɛ ko woakpɔ le eme.”
11 Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; who stay late into the night, until wine inflames them.
Baba na mi, ame siwo fɔna fɔŋli henɔa ho ʋlim le aha muame nono me, eye mienɔa wain yome va se ɖe zãtiƒe, eye wòmua mi tsiɖitsiɖi.
12 The harp, lyre, tambourine, and flute, with wine, are at their feasts; but they do not regard the work of the LORD, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.
Kasaŋkuwo kple saŋkuwo ɖina le miaƒe kplɔ̃ɖoƒewo, axatsɛwo, kpẽwo kple wain bɔna ɖe eŋu, gake wometsɔ ɖeke le eme na Yehowa ƒe dɔwɔwɔwo alo ade bubu eƒe asinudɔwɔwɔwo ŋu o.
13 Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.
Eya ta nye amewo ayi ɖe aboyome le nugɔmemasemase ta; dɔwuame awu woƒe ame ŋkutawo, eye tsikɔ awu ame haho la.
14 Therefore Sheol has enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, their multitude, their pomp, and he who rejoices among them, descend into it. (Sheol )
Eya ta nuɖuɖu le yɔdo dzrom vevie, eye wòke eƒe nu ɖi baa, eya ta Yerusalem ƒe ame ŋkutawo kple ame hahoawo age dze eme kple woƒe dzidzɔkpɔkpɔwo kple aglotutuwo katã. (Sheol )
15 So man is brought low, humankind is humbled, and the eyes of the arrogant ones are humbled;
Ale woaɖiɖi ame ɖe anyi, woabɔbɔ amegbetɔƒomea ɖe anyi, eye woate dadalawo ƒe ŋku ɖe to.
16 but the LORD of hosts is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.
Ke woado Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la ɖe dzi le eƒe ʋɔnudɔdrɔ̃ me, eye Mawu Kɔkɔe la aɖe eƒe kɔkɔenyenye afia to eƒe dzɔdzɔenyenye me.
17 Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, and kids will eat the ruins of the rich.
Ekema alẽwo aɖu gbe abe woawo ŋutɔ ƒe lãnyiƒee wole ene; eye alẽviwo aɖu nu le kesinɔtɔwo ƒe aƒedowo me.
18 Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and wickedness as with cart rope;
Baba na ame siwo tsɔ beble ƒe kawo de dzidada le hehem, eye wode kekehekawo nu vɔ̃ hele hehem,
19 Who say, "Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it."
ame siwo gblɔna be “Mawu newɔ kaba. Nedo tsɔtsɔe eƒe dɔ be miakpɔe; Israel ƒe Kɔkɔetɔ la ƒe aɖaŋudede neva kaba ne mianyae.”
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.
Baba na ame siwo yɔ vɔ̃ be nyui, eye woyɔ nyui be vɔ̃, ame siwo tsɔ viviti ɖɔli kekeli, eye wotsɔ kekeli ɖɔli viviti. Ame siwo yɔa veve be vivi, eye woyɔa vivi be veve.
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight.
Baba na ame siwo bua wo ɖokuiwo nunyalawoe, eye wonye aɖaŋudelawo le woawo ŋutɔ ɖokuiwo gbɔ.
22 Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and champions at mixing strong drink;
Baba na ame siwo nye kalẽawo le wain gã nono me, eye wonye dziɖulawo le ahamuamewo tɔtɔ me,
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent.
ame siwo xɔa zãnu, eye wotsoa afia ŋkunɔ na agɔdzelawo; ke ame siwo ƒe nya dzɔ la, wodea wo nya me.
24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Eya ta abe ale si dzo ƒe aɖe fiaa bee, eye gbe ƒuƒu bina le dzo me ene la, nenema kee woƒe kewo anyunyɔ, eye ya aƒo woƒe seƒoƒowo adzoe abe ʋuʋudedi ene, elabena wogbe Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la ƒe nufiame, eye woɖe alɔme le Israel ƒe Kɔkɔetɔ la ƒe nyawo ŋu,
25 Therefore the LORD's anger burns against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them, and has struck them. The mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.
Eya ta Yehowa ƒe dziku bi ɖe eƒe amewo ŋu. Ekɔ eƒe alɔ dzi, eye wòƒo wo ƒu anyi. Towo ʋuʋu kpekpekpe, eye ŋutilã kukuwo le abe gbeɖuɖɔ le aɖukpo dzi ene. To esiawo katã gbɔ hã la, eƒe dziku nu mefa o, eƒe alɔ gale dzi ko.
26 He will lift up a banner to the nations from far, and he will whistle for them from the far regions of the earth. Look, they will come speedily and swiftly.
Ekɔ aflaga dzi na didiƒe dukɔwo, eye wòlia aku na ame siwo le anyigba ƒe mlɔenuwo ke. Kpɔ ɖa, wova kaba kple du!
27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the belt of their waist be untied, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:
Ɖeɖi mete wo dometɔ aɖeke ŋu alo nu nati kɔ nɛ o. Ɖeka pɛ hã medɔ akɔlɔ̃e alo dɔ alɔ̃ o. Alidziblanu metu le ɖeke ƒe ali o, eye tokota metso le ɖeke ƒe afɔ o.
28 whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent. Their horses' hoofs will be like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.
Woƒe datiwo le ɖaɖam, eye woku woƒe dawo me. Woƒe sɔwo ƒe afɔwo le abe dzosigbewo ene, eye woƒe tasiaɖamwo ƒe afɔwo le abe yali ene.
29 Their roaring will be like a lioness. They will roar like young lions. Yes, they shall roar, and seize their prey and carry it off, and there will be no one to deliver.
Woƒe gbeɖeɖe le abe dzata tɔ ene, eye woɖea gbe abe dzataviwo ene. Wotea gbe heléa nu, eye wotsɔa nu si wolé la dzonae, ame aɖeke mate ŋu axɔe le wo si o.
30 They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks to the land look, darkness and distress. The light is darkened in its clouds.
Gbe ma gbe la, woaɖe gbe ɖe edzi abe atsiaƒu ene. Ne ame aɖe nye kɔ kpɔ anyigba la, viviti kple hiã ko wòakpɔ, eye lilikpowo gɔ̃ hã ana kekeli nado viviti.
