1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Meshikha has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
khrIShTo. asmabhyaM yat svAtantryaM dattavAn yUyaM tatra sthirAstiShThata dAsatvayugena puna rna nibadhyadhvaM|
2 Listen, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Meshikha will profit you nothing.
pashyatAhaM paulo yuShmAn vadAmi yadi Chinnatvacho bhavatha tarhi khrIShTena kimapi nopakAriShyadhve|
3 Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
aparaM yaH kashchit Chinnatvag bhavati sa kR^itsnavyavasthAyAH pAlanam IshvarAya dhArayatIti pramANaM dadAmi|
4 You are alienated from Meshikha, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.
yuShmAkaM yAvanto lokA vyavasthayA sapuNyIbhavituM cheShTante te sarvve khrIShTAd bhraShTA anugrahAt patitAshcha|
5 For we, through the Rukha, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.
yato vayam AtmanA vishvAsAt puNyalAbhAshAsiddhaM pratIkShAmahe|
6 For in Meshikha Yeshua neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.
khrIShTe yIshau tvakChedAtvakChedayoH kimapi guNaM nAsti kintu premnA saphalo vishvAsa eva guNayuktaH|
7 You were running well. Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?
pUrvvaM yUyaM sundaram adhAvata kintvidAnIM kena bAdhAM prApya satyatAM na gR^ihlItha?
8 This persuasion is not from him who calls you.
yuShmAkaM sA mati ryuShmadAhvAnakAriNa IshvarAnna jAtA|
9 A little yeast grows through the whole lump.
vikAraH kR^itsnashaktUnAM svalpakiNvena jasayate|
10 I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.
yuShmAkaM mati rvikAraM na gamiShyatItyahaM yuShmAnadhi prabhunAshaMse; kintu yo yuShmAn vichAralayati sa yaH kashchid bhavet samuchitaM daNDaM prApsyati|
11 But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.
parantu he bhrAtaraH, yadyaham idAnIm api tvakChedaM prachArayeyaM tarhi kuta upadravaM bhu njiya? tatkR^ite krushaM nirbbAdham abhaviShyat|
12 I wish that those who disturb you would cut themselves off.
ye janA yuShmAkaM chA nchalyaM janayanti teShAM Chedanameva mayAbhilaShyate|
13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only do not use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.
he bhrAtaraH, yUyaM svAtantryArtham AhUtA Adhve kintu tatsvAtantryadvAreNa shArIrikabhAvo yuShmAn na pravishatu| yUyaM premnA parasparaM paricharyyAM kurudhvaM|
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You are to love your neighbor as yourself."
yasmAt tvaM samIpavAsini svavat prema kuryyA ityekAj nA kR^itsnAyA vyavasthAyAH sArasaMgrahaH|
15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you do not consume one another.
kintu yUyaM yadi parasparaM daMdashyadhve. ashAshyadhve cha tarhi yuShmAkam eko. anyena yanna grasyate tatra yuShmAbhiH sAvadhAnai rbhavitavyaM|
16 But I say, walk by the Rukha, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.
ahaM bravImi yUyam AtmikAchAraM kuruta shArIrikAbhilAShaM mA pUrayata|
17 For the flesh lusts against the Rukha, and the Rukha against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.
yataH shArIrikAbhilASha Atmano viparItaH, AtmikAbhilAShashcha sharIrasya viparItaH, anayorubhayoH parasparaM virodho vidyate tena yuShmAbhi ryad abhilaShyate tanna karttavyaM|
18 But if you are led by the Rukha, you are not under the law.
yUyaM yadyAtmanA vinIyadhve tarhi vyavasthAyA adhInA na bhavatha|
19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,
aparaM paradAragamanaM veshyAgamanam ashuchitA kAmukatA pratimApUjanam
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,
indrajAlaM shatrutvaM vivAdo. antarjvalanaM krodhaH kalaho. anaikyaM
21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
pArthakyam IrShyA vadho mattatvaM lampaTatvamityAdIni spaShTatvena shArIrikabhAvasya karmmANi santi| pUrvvaM yadvat mayA kathitaM tadvat punarapi kathyate ye janA etAdR^ishAni karmmANyAcharanti tairIshvarasya rAjye. adhikAraH kadAcha na lapsyate|
22 But the fruit of the Rukha is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
ki ncha premAnandaH shAntishchirasahiShNutA hitaiShitA bhadratvaM vishvAsyatA titikShA
23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
parimitabhojitvamityAdInyAtmanaH phalAni santi teShAM viruddhA kApi vyavasthA nahi|
24 Those who belong to Meshikha have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
ye tu khrIShTasya lokAste ripubhirabhilAShaishcha sahitaM shArIrikabhAvaM krushe nihatavantaH|
25 If we live by the Rukha, let us also walk by the Rukha.
yadi vayam AtmanA jIvAmastarhyAtmikAchAro. asmAbhiH karttavyaH,
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.
darpaH parasparaM nirbhartsanaM dveShashchAsmAbhi rna karttavyAni|
