< Galatians 5 >
1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Meshikha has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Stand firm, therefore, in the freedom with which Christ has made us free, and be not held fast again in the yoke of bondage.
2 Listen, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Meshikha will profit you nothing.
Behold, I Paul say to you, that if you be circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.
3 Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
I testify indeed again to every man that is circumcised, that he is bound to do the whole law.
4 You are alienated from Meshikha, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.
You that are justified by law, have withdrawn from Christ: you have fallen from grace.
5 For we, through the Rukha, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.
For we, through the Spirit which we obtain by faith, wait for the hope of righteousness.
6 For in Meshikha Yeshua neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.
For, in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith that works by love.
7 You were running well. Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?
You were running well; who kept you back from obedience to the truth?
8 This persuasion is not from him who calls you.
This readiness to be persuaded is not from him that calls you.
9 A little yeast grows through the whole lump.
A little leaven leavens the whole mass.
10 I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.
I have confidence in you through the Lord, that you will cultivate no other disposition: but he that troubles you, who ever he may be, shall bear his condemnation.
11 But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.
But, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why am I yet persecuted? Then, the offense of the cross has ceased.
12 I wish that those who disturb you would cut themselves off.
that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off!
13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only do not use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.
For you have been called to freedom, brethren: only use not your freedom as an occasion for the flesh, but become servants to one another, through love.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You are to love your neighbor as yourself."
For all the law is fulfilled in one commandment, in this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you do not consume one another.
But if you bite and devour one another, take heed lest you be utterly destroyed by one another.
16 But I say, walk by the Rukha, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.
I say this: Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Rukha, and the Rukha against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.
For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the desire of the Spirit is against flesh; and these are opposed, the one to the other, so that you can not do what you would.
18 But if you are led by the Rukha, you are not under the law.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,
Now the works of the flesh are well known, and they are these―lewdness, uncleanness, wantonness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,
idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strifes, jealousies, anger, party-spirit, divisions, sects,
21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; with respect to which, I tell you now, as I also told you in times past, that those who practice such things shall riot inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Rukha is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
meekness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
24 Those who belong to Meshikha have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
Now those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live by the Rukha, let us also walk by the Rukha.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.
Let us not be vain-glorious, provoking one another, envying one another.
