Galatians 3
1 Foolish Galatians, who has cunningly deceived you, before whose eyes Yeshua Meshikha was openly set forth as crucified?
Necios gálatas, ¿quién os ha embrujado para que no obedezcáis la verdad, ante cuyos ojos Jesucristo se ha presentado abiertamente entre vosotros como crucificado?
2 I just want to learn this from you. Did you receive the Rukha by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
Sólo quiero aprender esto de vosotros: ¿Recibisteis el Espíritu por las obras de la ley, o por el oír de la fe?
3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Rukha, are you now completed in the flesh?
¿Sois tan necios? Habiendo comenzado en el Espíritu, ¿se completan ahora en la carne?
4 Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?
¿Acaso habéis sufrido tantas cosas en vano, si es que es en vano?
5 He therefore who supplies the Rukha to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
Por tanto, el que os suministra el Espíritu y hace milagros entre vosotros, ¿lo hace por las obras de la ley, o por el oír de la fe?
6 Even as Avraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
Así, Abraham “creyó a Dios, y le fue contado por justicia”.
7 Know therefore that those who are of faith, the same are children of Avraham.
Sabed, pues, que los que tienen fe son hijos de Abraham.
8 The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the non-Jews by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Avraham, saying, "Through you all the nations will be blessed."
La Escritura, previendo que Dios justificaría a los gentiles por la fe, anunció de antemano la Buena Nueva a Abraham, diciendo: “En ti serán bendecidas todas las naciones.”
9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Avraham.
Así pues, los que tienen fe son bendecidos con el fiel Abraham.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them."
Porque todos los que son de las obras de la ley están bajo maldición. Porque está escrito: “Maldito es todo aquel que no permanece en todas las cosas que están escritas en el libro de la ley, para hacerlas.”
11 Now it is evident that no one is justified by the law before God, for, "The righteous will live by faith."
Ahora bien, es evidente que ningún hombre se justifica por la ley ante Dios, pues “El justo vivirá por la fe”.
12 The law is not of faith, but, "The one who does them will live by them."
La ley no es de fe, sino que: “El hombre que las haga vivirá por ellas”.
13 Meshikha redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"
Cristo nos redimió de la maldición de la ley, habiéndose convertido en maldición por nosotros. Porque está escrito: “Maldito todo el que cuelga de un madero”,
14 that the blessing of Avraham might come on the non-Jews through Meshikha Yeshua; that we might receive the promise of the Rukha through faith.
para que la bendición de Abraham llegue a los gentiles por medio de Cristo Jesús, a fin de que recibamos la promesa del Espíritu por la fe.
15 Brothers, I am speaking in human terms. Though it is only a human covenant, once it has been ratified, no one annuls it or adds to it.
Hermanos, hablando de términos humanos, aunque sólo es un pacto de un hombre, sin embargo, cuando se ha confirmado, nadie lo anula ni le añade nada.
16 Now the promises were spoken to Avraham and to his offspring. He does not say, "And to offsprings," as of many, but as of one, "And to your offspring," which is Meshikha.
Ahora bien, las promesas fueron pronunciadas para Abraham y para su descendencia. No dice: “A la descendencia”, como de muchos, sino como de uno solo: “A tu descendencia”, que es Cristo.
17 Now I say this: the law, which came four hundred thirty years later, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to cancel the promise.
Ahora bien, digo esto: Un pacto confirmado de antemano por Dios en Cristo, la ley, que vino cuatrocientos treinta años después, no lo anula, como para que la promesa quede sin efecto.
18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Avraham by promise.
Porque si la herencia es de la ley, ya no es de la promesa; pero Dios se la ha concedido a Abraham por promesa.
19 What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.
Entonces, ¿por qué existe la ley? Fue añadida a causa de las transgresiones, hasta que llegara la descendencia a la que se ha hecho la promesa. Fue ordenada por medio de los ángeles por la mano de un mediador.
20 Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.
Ahora bien, un mediador no es entre uno, sino que Dios es uno.
21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not. For if there had been a law given which could give life, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.
¿Es, pues, la ley contraria a las promesas de Dios? Ciertamente no. Porque si se hubiera dado una ley que hiciera vivir, ciertamente la justicia habría sido de la ley.
22 But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Yeshua Meshikha might be given to those who believe.
Pero la Escritura aprisionó todas las cosas bajo el pecado, para que la promesa por la fe en Jesucristo fuera dada a los que creen.
23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Pero antes de que llegara la fe, estábamos detenidos bajo la ley, confinados para la fe que debía revelarse después.
24 So that the law was our tutor to bring us to Meshikha, that we might be justified by faith.
De modo que la ley se convirtió en nuestro tutor para llevarnos a Cristo, a fin de que fuéramos justificados por la fe.
25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
Pero ahora que ha llegado la fe, ya no estamos bajo un tutor.
26 For you are all children of God, through faith in Meshikha Yeshua.
Porque todos vosotros sois hijos de Dios por la fe en Cristo Jesús.
27 For as many of you as were baptized into Meshikha have put on Meshikha.
Porque todos los que habéis sido bautizados en Cristo os habéis revestido de Cristo.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Meshikha Yeshua.
No hay judío ni griego, no hay esclavo ni libre, no hay hombre ni mujer, porque todos sois uno en Cristo Jesús.
29 If you are Meshikha's, then you are Avraham's offspring and heirs according to promise.
Si sois de Cristo, entonces sois descendientes de Abraham y herederos según la promesa.
