Deuteronomy 31

1 And Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel.

Und Mose ging und redete diese Worte zu ganz Israel,

2 He said to them, "I am one hundred twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: and the LORD has said to me, 'You shall not go over this Jordan.'

Und sprach zu ihnen: Hundertzwanzig Jahre bin ich heute alt; ich vermag nicht ferner auszugehen und einzugehen, und Jehovah hat zu mir gesprochen: Du sollst nicht über diesen Jordan übersetzen.

3 The LORD your God, he will go over before you; he will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua shall go over before you, as the LORD has spoken.

Jehovah, dein Gott, Er zieht vor dir hinüber; Er vernichtet diese Völkerschaften vor dir, auf daß du sie einnehmest. Joschua, der zieht vor dir hinüber, wie Jehovah geredet hat.

4 The LORD will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land; whom he destroyed.

Und Jehovah wird ihnen tun, wie Er dem Sichon und dem Og, den Königen des Amoriters und ihrem Lande tat, die Er vernichtet hat.

5 The LORD will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you.

Und Jehovah gibt sie vor euch dahin, und ihr sollt ihnen tun nach all dem Gebot, das ich euch geboten habe.

6 Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, nor be scared of them: for the LORD your God is he who is going with you; he will not leave you nor forsake you."

Seid stark und rüstig, fürchtet euch nicht und laßt euch nicht vor ihnen grauen. Denn Jehovah, dein Gott, geht mit dir. Er wird dich nicht aufgeben noch verlassen.

7 Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous: for you shall go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it.

Und Mose rief den Joschua und sprach zu ihm vor den Augen von ganz Israel: Sei stark und rüstig; denn du sollst dieses Volk hineinbringen in das Land, das Jehovah ihren Vätern geschworen hat, ihnen zu geben; und sollst es unter sie zum Erbe verteilen.

8 The LORD, he it is who does go before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: do not be afraid, neither be dismayed."

Und Jehovah ist es, Der vor dir geht und Er wird mit dir sein. Er wird dich nicht aufgeben noch verlassen; fürchte dich nicht und entsetze dich nicht.

9 Moses wrote this law, and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.

Und Mose schrieb dieses Gesetz und gab es den Priestern, den Söhnen Levis, welche die Bundeslade Jehovahs trugen, und all den Ältesten von Israel.

10 Moses commanded them, saying, "At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of tents,

Und Mose gebot ihnen und sprach: Am Ende von sieben Jahren zur bestimmten Zeit des Erlaßjahres, am Feste der Laubhütten,

11 when all Israel has come to appear before the LORD your God in the place which he shall choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

Da ganz Israel kommt, zu sehen das Angesicht Jehovahs, deines Gottes, an dem Orte, den Er erwählen wird, sollst du vorlesen dieses Gesetz in Gegenwart von ganz Israel vor ihren Ohren.

12 Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and your foreigner who is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law;

Versammle das Volk, die Männer und die Weiber und die Kindlein und deinen Fremdling, der in deinen Toren ist, auf daß sie hören und auf daß sie lernen, und Jehovah, euren Gott fürchten, und halten und tun alle Worte dieses Gesetzes;

13 and that their children, who have not known, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over the Jordan to possess it."

Und ihre Söhne, die davon nichts wuß-ten, sollen hören und lernen fürchten Jehovah, euren Gott, alle Tage, die ihr lebt auf dem Boden, dahin ihr über den Jordan übergeht, ihn einzunehmen.

14 The LORD said to Moses, "Look, your days approach that you must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him." Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.

Und Jehovah sprach zu Mose: Siehe, deine Tage nahen zum Sterben. Rufe Joschua und stellet euch in das Versammlungszelt, damit Ich ihm gebiete. Und Mose ging mit Joschua und stellten sich in das Versammlungszelt.

15 The LORD appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud: and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the Tent.

Und Jehovah erschien im Zelt in einer Wolkensäule, und die Wolkensäule stand über dem Eingang des Zeltes.

16 The LORD said to Moses, "Look, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land, where they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

Und Jehovah sprach zu Mose: Siehe, du legst dich zu deinen Vätern, und dieses Volk möchte aufstehen und den ausländischen Göttern des Landes nachbuhlen, in dessen Mitte es hineinkommen wird, und Mich verlassen und den Bund zunichte machen, den Ich mit ihm geschlossen habe.

17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, 'Haven't these evils come on us because our God is not among us?'

Und Mein Zorn würde entbrennen an jenem Tag wider dasselbe; und Ich werde es verlassen und Mein Angesicht vor ihnen verbergen, daß es verzehrt werde; und viele Übel und Drangsale werden es treffen; und an jenem Tag wird es sprechen: Ist es nicht also, daß diese Übel mich treffen, weil mein Gott nicht in meiner Mitte ist?

18 I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they shall have worked, in that they are turned to other gods.

Ich aber will Mein Antlitz ganz und gar vor ihm verbergen an jenem Tag ob all dem Bösen, das es getan, weil es sich zu anderen Göttern wendete.

19 "Now therefore write the words of this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.

Und nun schreibe euch diesen Gesang auf und lehre ihn die Söhne Israels, lege ihn in ihren Mund, auf daß Mir dieser Gesang Zeuge sei wider die Söhne Israels,

20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.

Wenn Ich sie auf den Boden hineinbringe, den Ich seinen Vätern geschworen habe, da Milch und Honig fließen, und es ißt und satt wird und fett, und sich wendet zu anderen Göttern und ihnen dient, und Mich verschmäht und Meinen Bund zunichte macht,

21 It shall happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants: for I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore."

Und es wird geschehen, daß viele Übel und Drangsale es treffen; und dann soll es diesen Gesang anheben vor ihm zum Zeugnis, - denn es soll nicht vergessen werden aus dem Munde seines Samens, weil Ich sein Gebilde weiß, was es tut heutzutage, bevor Ich es noch in das Land hineingebracht, das Ich geschworen habe.

22 So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.

Und Mose schrieb diesen Gesang an selbigem Tage und lehrte ihn die Söhne Israels.

23 He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, "Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: and I will be with you."

Und Joschua, dem Sohne Nuns, gebot Er und sprach: Sei stark und mächtig; denn du sollst die Söhne Israels in das Land hineinbringen, das Ich ihnen geschworen habe; und Ich werde mit dir sein.

24 It happened, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law on a scroll, until they were finished,

Und es geschah, da Mose vollendet hatte die Worte dieses Gesetzes allesamt in das Buch zu schreiben,

25 that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,

Da gebot Mose den Leviten, welche die Lade des Bundes Jehovahs trugen und sprach:

26 "Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

Nehmet das Buch dieses Gesetzes und legt es zur Seite der Bundeslade Jehovahs, eures Gottes, auf daß es dort sei ein Zeuge wider dich.

27 For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck: look, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against God; and how much more after my death?

Denn ich weiß deine Widerspenstigkeit und deinen Nacken, den harten. Sehet, während ich noch heute lebe unter euch, seid ihr gegen Jehovah widerspenstig gewesen; und wie werdet ihr es erst nach meinem Tode sein?

28 Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your elders and your judges and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

Versammelt zu mir alle Ältesten eurer Stämme und eure Vorsteher, und ich will vor ihren Ohren diese Worte reden und Himmel und Erde, wider sie zu Zeugen nehmen;

29 For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days; because you will do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands."

Denn ich weiß, daß ihr nach meinem Tode verderblich handelt, und von dem Wege abweichet, den ich euch geboten habe, und es wird euch in späteren Tagen Böses widerfahren, wenn ihr tut, was in Jehovahs Augen böse ist, und durch eurer Hände Tat Ihn reizet.

30 Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.

Und Mose redete vor den Ohren der ganzen Versammlung Israels die Worte dieses Gesangs, bis sie alle waren.
