Colossians 4
1 Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
主人たちよ。あなたがたは、自分たちの主も天におられることを知っているのですから、奴隷に対して正義と公平を示しなさい。
2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving;
目をさまして、感謝をもって、たゆみなく祈りなさい。
3 praying together for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Meshikha, for which I am also in bonds;
同時に、私たちのためにも、神がみことばのために門を開いてくださって、私たちがキリストの奥義を語れるように、祈ってください。この奥義のために、私は牢に入れられています。
4 that I may reveal it as I ought to speak.
また、私がこの奥義を、当然語るべき語り方で、はっきり語れるように、祈ってください。
5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
外部の人に対して賢明にふるまい、機会を十分に生かして用いなさい。
6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
あなたがたのことばが、いつも親切で、塩味のきいたものであるようにしなさい。そうすれば、ひとりひとりに対する答え方がわかります。
7 All my affairs will be made known to you by Tychicus, the beloved brother, faithful servant, and fellow slave in the Lord.
私の様子については、主にあって愛する兄弟、忠実な奉仕者、同労のしもべであるテキコが、あなたがたに一部始終を知らせるでしょう。
8 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts,
私がテキコをあなたがたのもとに送るのは、あなたがたが私たちの様子を知り、彼によって心に励ましを受けるためにほかなりません。
9 together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will make known to you everything that is going on here.
また彼は、あなたがたの仲間のひとりで、忠実な愛する兄弟オネシモといっしょに行きます。このふたりが、こちらの様子をみな知らせてくれるでしょう。
10 Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner greets you, and Markos, the cousin of Bar-Naba (concerning whom you received commandments, "if he comes to you, receive him"),
私といっしょに囚人となっているアリスタルコが、あなたがたによろしくと言っています。バルナバのいとこであるマルコも同じです。――この人については、もし彼があなたがたのところに行ったなら、歓迎するようにという指示をあなたがたは受けています。――
11 and Yeshua who is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These are my only fellow workers for the Kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.
ユストと呼ばれるイエスもよろしくと言っています。割礼を受けた人では、この人たちだけが、神の国のために働く私の同労者です。また、彼らは私を激励する者となってくれました。
12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Meshikha, salutes you, always striving for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.
あなたがたの仲間のひとり、キリスト・イエスのしもべエパフラスが、あなたがたによろしくと言っています。彼はいつも、あなたがたが完全な人となり、また神のすべてのみこころを十分に確信して立つことができるよう、あなたがたのために祈りに励んでいます。
13 For I testify about him, that he has worked hard for you, and for those in Laodicea, and for those in Hierapolis.

14 Luqa, the beloved physician, and Demas greet you.

15 Greet the brothers who are in Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church that is in her house.
どうか、ラオデキヤの兄弟たちに、またヌンパとその家にある教会に、よろしく言ってください。
16 When this letter has been read among you, cause it to be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that you also read the letter from Laodicea.
この手紙があなたがたのところで読まれたなら、ラオデキヤ人の教会でも読まれるようにしてください。あなたがたのほうも、ラオデキヤから回って来る手紙を読んでください。
17 Tell Archippus, "See that you fulfill the ministry that you have been given in the Lord."
アルキポに、「主にあって受けた務めを、注意してよく果たすように。」と言ってください。
18 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you.
