Acts 8
1 Shaul was consenting to his death. A great persecution arose against the church which was in Urishlim in that day. They were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Yehuda and Samaria, except for the apostles.
Or il s’éleva en ce temps-là une grande persécution contre l’Eglise qui était à Jérusalem, et tous, excepté les apôtres, furent dispersés dans les régions de la Judée et de la Samarie.
2 Devout men buried Astapanos, and lamented greatly over him.
Des hommes craignant Dieu ensevelirent Etienne, et firent ses funérailles avec un grand deuil.
3 But Shaul ravaged the church, entering into every house, and dragged both men and women off to prison.
Cependant Saul ravageait l’Eglise, entrant dans les maisons; et entraînant des hommes et des femmes, il les jetait en prison.
4 Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around proclaiming the word.
Et ceux donc qui avaient été dispersés, passaient d’un lieu dans un autre, en annonçant la parole de Dieu.
5 And Philipus went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Meshikha.
Or Philippe étant descendu dans la ville de Samarie, leur prêchait le Christ.
6 The crowds listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philipus, when they heard and saw the signs which he did.
Et la foule était attentive à ce qui était dit par Philippe, l’écoutant unanimement, et voyant les miracles qu’il faisait.
7 For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.
Car des esprits impurs sortaient d’un grand nombre de possédés en jetant de grands cris.
8 There was great joy in that city.
Et beaucoup de paralytiques et de boiteux furent guéris.
9 But there was a certain man, Shimon by name, who used to practice sorcery in the city, and amazed the people of Samaria, making himself out to be some great one,
Il y eut donc une grande joie dans cette ville. Or un certain homme, du nom de Simon, qui auparavant avait exercé la magie dans la ville, séduisait le peuple de Samarie, se disant être quelqu’un de grand;
10 to whom they all listened, from the least to the greatest, saying, "This man is that power of God which is called Great."
Et tous, du plus petit jusqu’au plus grand, l’écoutaient, disant: Celui-ci est la grande vertu de Dieu.
11 They listened to him, because for a long time he had amazed them with his sorceries.
Ils s’attachaient à lui, parce que, depuis longtemps, il leur avait troublé l’esprit par ses enchantements.
12 But when they believed Philipus as he preached good news concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Yeshua Meshikha, they were baptized, both men and women.
Mais, quand ils eurent cru à Philippe, qui leur annonçait la parole de Dieu, ils furent baptisés, hommes et femmes, au nom de Jésus-Christ.
13 Shimon himself also believed. Being baptized, he continued with Philipus. Seeing signs and great miracles occurring, he was amazed.
Alors Simon lui-même crut aussi, et lorsqu’il eut été baptisé, il s’attachait à Philippe. Mais voyant qu’il se faisait des prodiges et de grands miracles, il s’étonnait et admirait.
14 Now when the apostles who were at Urishlim heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Kipha and Yukhanan to them,
Or lorsque les apôtres, qui étaient à Jérusalem, eurent appris que Samarie avait reçu la parole de Dieu, ils leur envoyèrent Pierre et Jean,
15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Rukha d'Qudsha;
Qui étant venus, prièrent pour eux, afin qu’ils reçussent l’Esprit-Saint;
16 for he had not yet fallen upon any of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Yeshua.
Car il n’était encore descendu sur aucun d’eux, mais ils avaient seulement été baptisés au nom du Seigneur Jésus.
17 Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Rukha d'Qudsha.
Alors ils leur imposaient les mains et ils recevaient l’Esprit-Saint.
18 Now when Shimon saw that the Rukha was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,
Or Simon, voyant que, par l’imposition des mains des apôtres, l’Esprit-Saint était donné, il leur offrit de l’argent,
19 saying, "Give me also this power, that whomever I lay my hands on may receive the Rukha d'Qudsha."
Disant: Donnez-moi aussi ce pouvoir, que tous ceux à qui j’imposerai les mains reçoivent l’Esprit-Saint. Mais Pierre lui dit:
20 But Kipha said to him, "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money.
Que ton argent soit avec toi en perdition, parce que tu as estimé que le don de Dieu peut s’acquérir avec de l’argent.
21 You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.
Il n’y a pour toi ni part ni sort en ceci; car ton cœur n’est pas droit devant Dieu.
22 Repent therefore of this, your wickedness, and ask the Lord if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
Fais donc pénitence de cette méchanceté, et prie Dieu qu’il te pardonne, s’il est possible, cette pensée de ton cœur.
23 For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity."
Car je vois que tu es dans un fiel d’amertume et dans des liens d’iniquité.
24 Shimon answered, "Pray for me to the Lord, that none of the things which you have spoken happen to me."
Simon, répondant, dit: Priez vous-mêmes le Seigneur pour moi, afin qu’il ne m’arrive rien de ce que vous avez dit.
25 They therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Urishlim, and preached the Good News to many villages of the Samaritans.
Et eux, après avoir rendu témoignage et prêché la parole du Seigneur, revenaient à Jérusalem, et évangélisaient beaucoup de contrées des Samaritains.
26 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philipus, saying, "Arise, and go toward the south to the way that goes down from Urishlim to Gahza. This is a desert."
Cependant un ange du Seigneur parla à Philippe, disant: Lève-toi et va vers le Midi, sur le chemin qui descend de Jérusalem à Gaza: celle qui est déserte.
27 And he arose and went. And look, there was a man from Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Kandake, the queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge over all her treasure. He had come to Urishlim to worship,
Et, se levant, il partit. Et voilà qu’un Ethiopien, eunuque, puissant auprès de Candace, reine d’Ethiopie, et préposé sur tous ses trésors, était venu adorer à Jérusalem,
28 and he was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading the prophet Eshaya.
Et s’en retournait, assis sur son char, et lisant le prophète Isaïe.
29 And the Rukha said to Philip, "Go and join up with that chariot."
Alors l’Esprit dit à Philippe: Approche, et tiens-toi contre ce char.
30 And running near, Philip heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?"
Et Philippe, accourant, entendit l’eunuque qui lisait le prophète Isaïe, et lui dit: Crois-tu comprendre ce que tu lis?
31 He said, "How can I, unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philipus to come up and sit with him.
Il répondit: Et comment le pourrai-je, si quelqu’un ne me l’explique? Et il pria Philippe de monter et de s’asseoir près de lui.
32 Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, "He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he does not open his mouth.
Or le passage de l’Ecriture qu’il lisait était celui-ci: Comme une brebis, il a été mené à la boucherie; et comme un agneau sans voix devant celui qui le tond, ainsi il n’a pas ouvert la bouche.
33 In his humiliation his justice was taken away. Who will declare his generation? For his life is taken from the earth."
Dans l’humiliation, son jugement a été aboli; qui racontera sa génération, puisque sa vie sera retranchée de la terre?
34 The eunuch answered Philipus, "Who is the prophet talking about? About himself, or about someone else?"
Or, répondant à Philippe, l’eunuque dit: De qui, je te prie, le prophète dit-il cela? Est-ce de lui, ou de quelque autre?
35 Philipus opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached to him Yeshua.
Alors Philippe, ouvrant la bouche, et commençant par cet endroit de l’Ecriture, lui annonça Jésus.
36 And as they went on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?"
Et comme ils allaient par le chemin, ils rencontrèrent de l’eau; et l’eunuque dit: Voilà de l’eau; qui empêche que je ne sois baptisé?
37 And he said to him, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Yeshua Meshikha is the Son of God."
Philippe dit: Si tu crois de tout ton cœur, cela se peut. Et, répondant, il dit: Je crois que Jésus-Christ est le Fils de Dieu.
38 He commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down into the water, both Philipus and the eunuch, and he baptized him.
Et il fit arrêter le char; alors, tous deux, Philippe et l’eunuque, descendirent dans l’eau, et il le baptisa.
39 When they came up out of the water, the Rukha of the Lord caught Philipus away, and the eunuch did not see him any more, for he went on his way rejoicing.
Lorsqu’ils furent remontés de l’eau, l’Esprit du Seigneur enleva Philippe, et l’eunuque ne le vit plus. Mais il continuait son chemin, plein de joie.
40 But Philipus was found at Azotus. Passing through, he preached the Good News to all the cities, until he came to Qesarya.
Pour Philippe, il se trouva dans Azot et il évangélisait en passant toutes les villes, jusqu’à ce qu’il vînt à Césarée.
