Acts 11
1 Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Yehuda heard that the non-Jewish people had also received the word of God.
Meghallották azonban az apostolok és a Júdeában élő atyafiak, hogy a pogányok is elfogadták az Istennek beszédét.
2 When Kipha had come up to Urishlim, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,
Amikor azért felment Péter Jeruzsálembe, vitatkoztak vele a zsidóságból valók, ezt mondva:
3 saying, "You went in to uncircumcised men, and ate with them."
„Körülmetéletlen emberekhez mentél be, és együtt ettél velük.“
4 But Kipha began, and explained to them in order, saying,
Péter ekkor elkezdte megmagyarázni nekik:
5 "I was in the city of Yupi praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.
„Én Joppé városában imádkoztam, és elragadtatásban egy látomást láttam, valami leszálló edényt, mint egy nagy lepedőt, négy sarkánál fogva leeresztve az égből, és egészen énhozzám szállt.
6 When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, crawling creatures, and birds of the sky.
Szememet rávetve megnéztem, és láttam a földi négylábú állatokat, a vadakat, a csúszómászókat és az égi madarakat.
7 I also heard a voice saying to me, 'Rise, Kipha, kill and eat.'
Hangot is hallottam, amely ezt mondta nekem: Kelj fel Péter, öld és egyél!
8 But I said, 'Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.'
Azonban én ezt mondtam: Semmiképpen sem, Uram, mert soha semmi közönséges vagy tisztátalan nem ment be az én számba.
9 But a voice answered the second time out of heaven, 'What God has cleansed, do not call unclean.'
A szózat pedig másodszor is felelt nekem az égből: Amiket az Isten megtisztított, te ne mondd tisztátalanoknak.
10 This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.
Ez pedig három ízben történt, és ismét felemelkedett az egész az égbe.
11 And look, immediately three men stood before the house where we were, having been sent from Qesarya to me.
És íme, azonnal három férfiú érkezett a házhoz, amelyben voltam, akiket Cézáreából küldtek énhozzám.
12 The Rukha told me to go with them, without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house.
A Lélek pedig azt mondta nekem, hogy menjek el velük minden kételkedés nélkül. Eljött azonban velem ez a hat atyafi is, és bementünk annak az embernek a házába.
13 He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying to him, 'Send to Yupi, and get Shimon, whose surname is Kipha,
És ő elbeszélte nekünk, hogyan látta, amint az angyal megállt az ő házában, és ezt mondta neki: Küldj embereket Joppéba, és hívasd magadhoz Simont, akit Péternek neveznek.
14 who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.'
Ő olyan igéket fog hirdetni neked, melyek által megtartatsz mind te, és mind az egész házad népe.
15 As I began to speak, the Rukha d'Qudsha fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
Mikor pedig elkezdtem beszélni, leszállt a Szentlélek rájuk, miképpen reánk is kezdetben.
16 I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, 'Yukhanan indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Rukha d'Qudsha.'
Eszembe jutott akkor az Úrnak mondása, amint mondta: János ugyan vízzel keresztelt, ti azonban Szentlélekkel fogtok megkereszteltetni.
17 If then God gave to them the same gift as us, when we believed in the Lord Yeshua Meshikha, who was I, that I could withstand God?"
Ha tehát az Isten hasonló ajándékát adta nekik is, mint nekünk is, akik hittünk az Úr Jézus Krisztusban, kicsoda voltam én, hogy az Istent eltilthattam volna?“
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the non-Jews repentance to life."
Mindezek hallatára aztán megnyugodtak, és dicsőítették az Istent ezt mondva: „Eszerint hát a pogányoknak is adott az Isten megtérést az életre!“
19 They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Astapanos traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.
Azok tehát, akik szétszóródtak az üldözés miatt, amely István miatt támadott, eljutottak Föníciáig, Ciprusig és Antiókhiáig, senkinek nem prédikálták az igét, hanem csak a zsidóknak.
20 But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Qurini, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Greeks, proclaiming the good news of the Lord Yeshua.
Volt azonban közöttük néhány ciprusi és cirénei férfi, akik amikor Antiókhiába bementek, szóltak a görögöknek, hirdetve az Úr Jézust.
21 The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
És az Úr keze volt velük, úgyhogy nagy sokaság tért meg az Úrhoz, s hívőkké lettek.
22 And the report concerning them was heard by the church in Urishlim, so they sent Bar-Naba to Antioch,
Eljutott ennek a híre a jeruzsálemi gyülekezet fülébe, ezért kiküldték Barnabást, hogy menjen el egészen Antiókhiáig.
23 who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain true to the Lord.
Amikor oda jutott, és látta az Isten kegyelmét, örvendezett, és arra intette mindnyájukat, hogy állhatatos szívvel maradjanak meg az Úrban.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Rukha d'Qudsha and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.
Mert jámbor, Szentlélekkel és hittel teljes férfiú volt ő. És nagy sokaság csatlakozott az Úrhoz.
25 Bar-Naba went out to Tarsus to look for Shaul.
Elment azután Barnabás Tarzuszba, hogy felkeresse Sault, és amikor rátalált elvitte őt Antiókhiába.
26 When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. It happened, that for a whole year they were gathered together with the church, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Meshihaye in Antioch.
Így történt, hogy egy egész esztendeig forgolódtak a gyülekezetben, és tanítottak nagy sokaságot. A tanítványokat először Antiókhiában nevezték keresztyéneknek.
27 Now in these days, prophets came down from Urishlim to Antioch.
Ez időtájt pedig próféták mentek Jeruzsálemből Antiókhiába.
28 One of them named Agavus stood up, and indicated by the Rukha that there should be a great famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius.
Felkelt pedig egy közülük, név szerint Agabosz, megjelentette a Lélek által, hogy az egész földkerekségen nagy éhínség lesz; amely be is következett Klaudiusz császár idejében.
29 As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Yehuda;
A tanítványok pedig elhatározták, hogy aszerint, amint kinek-kinek közülük módjában áll, küldenek valami segítséget a Júdeában lakó testvéreknek.
30 which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Bar-Naba and Shaul.
Ezt meg is tették, és Barnabással és Saullal elküldték a vénekhez.
