2 Chronicles 28
1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he did not do that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, like David his father;
Zwanzig Jahre war Ahas alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte sechzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem. Und er tat nicht, was recht war in den Augen Jehovas, wie sein Vater David;
2 but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for the Baals.
sondern er wandelte auf den Wegen der Könige von Israel, und auch machte er den Baalim gegossene Bilder;
3 Moreover he burnt incense in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, and made his sons pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
und er räucherte im Tale des Sohnes Hinnoms, und er verbrannte seine Söhne im Feuer, nach den Greueln der Nationen, die Jehova vor den Kindern Israel ausgetrieben hatte;
4 He sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
und er opferte und räucherte auf den Höhen und auf den Hügeln und unter jedem grünen Baume.
5 Therefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Aram; and they struck him, and carried away of his a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. He was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.
Da gab ihn Jehova, sein Gott, in die Hand des Königs von Syrien; und sie schlugen ihn und führten eine große Menge Gefangene von ihm weg und brachten sie nach Damaskus. Und auch in die Hand des Königs von Israel wurde er gegeben, welcher ihm eine große Niederlage beibrachte.
6 For Pekah the son of Remaliah killed in Judah one hundred twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers.
Und Pekach, der Sohn Remaljas, erschlug in Juda an einem Tage hundertzwanzigtausend Mann, alles tapfere Leute, weil sie Jehova, den Gott ihrer Väter, verlassen hatten.
7 Zikri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the ruler of the house, and Elkanah who was next to the king.
Und Sikri, ein Held von Ephraim, erschlug Maaseja, den Sohn des Königs, und Asrikam, den Oberaufseher des Hauses, und Elkana, den Zweiten nach dem König.
8 The children of Israel carried away captive of their brothers two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.
Und die Kinder Israel führten von ihren Brüdern zweihunderttausend Weiber, Söhne und Töchter gefangen hinweg; und auch raubten sie große Beute von ihnen und brachten sie Beute nach Samaria.
9 But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them, "Look, because the LORD, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has reached up to heaven.
Und daselbst war ein Prophet Jehovas, namens Obed; und er ging hinaus, dem Heere entgegen, das nach Samaria kam, und sprach zu ihnen: Siehe, weil Jehova, der Gott eurer Väter, gegen Juda zürnte, hat er sie in eure Hand gegeben; und ihr habt sie mit einer Wut gemordet, die bis an den Himmel reicht.
10 Now you purpose to keep under the people of Judah and Jerusalem for bondservants and bondmaids for yourselves. Aren't there even with you trespasses of your own against the LORD your God?
Und nun gedenket ihr, die Kinder Judas und Jerusalems euch zu Knechten und Mägden zu unterwerfen. Sind aber nicht bei euch selbst Verschuldungen gegen Jehova, euren Gott?
11 Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives, that you have taken captive from your brothers; for the fierce wrath of the LORD is on you."
Und nun höret auf mich und sendet die Gefangenen zurück, die ihr von euren Brüdern weggeführt habt; denn die Zornglut Jehovas ist über euch.
12 Then some of the heads of the people of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against those who came from the war,
Da traten Männer von den Häuptern der Kinder Ephraim: Asarja, der Sohn Jochanans, Berekja, der Sohn Meschillemoths, und Jehiskia, der Sohn Schallums, und Amasa, der Sohn Hadlais, vor die vom Heereszuge Kommenden
13 and said to them, "You shall not bring in the captives here: for you purpose that which will bring on us a trespass against the LORD, to add to our sins and to our trespass; for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel."
und sprachen zu ihnen: Ihr sollt nicht die Gefangenen hierher bringen; denn um eine Schuld gegen Jehova über uns zu bringen, gedenket ihr solches, um unsere Sünden und unsere Verschuldungen zu mehren; denn wir haben schon eine große Schuld, und eine Zornglut ist über Israel!
14 So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the leaders and all the assembly.
Da ließen die Gerüsteten die Gefangenen und die Beute vor den Obersten und der ganzen Versammlung.
15 The men who have been mentioned by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all who were naked among them, dressed them, gave them sandals, and gave them something to eat and to drink, anointed them, carried all the feeble of them on donkeys, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.
Und die Männer, die mit Namen angegeben waren, standen auf und nahmen die Gefangenen; und alle, die nackt waren unter ihnen, bekleideten sie von der Beute; sie bekleideten und beschuhten sie und speisten und tränkten sie und salbten sie; und alle, die ermattet waren, führten sie auf Eseln und brachten sie nach Jericho, der Palmenstadt, in die Nähe ihrer Brüder. Und sie kehrten nach Samaria zurück.
16 At that time king Ahaz sent to the king of Assyria to help him.
In selbiger Zeit sandte der König Ahas zu den Königen von Assyrien, daß sie ihm helfen möchten.
17 For again the Edomites had come and struck Judah, and carried away captives.
Und die Edomiter kamen abermals, und sie schlugen Juda und führten Gefangene hinweg.
18 The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland, and of the Negev of Judah, and had taken Beth Shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Soco with its towns, and Timnah with its towns, Gimzo also and its towns: and they lived there.
Und die Philister fielen ein in die Städte der Niederung und des Südens von Juda, und nahmen Beth-Semes ein und Ajalon und Gederoth und Soko und seine Tochterstädte, und Timna und seine Tochterstädte, und Gimso und seine Tochterstädte; und sie wohnten daselbst.
19 For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he had dealt wantonly in Judah, and trespassed severely against the LORD.
Denn Jehova demütigte Juda, um Ahas', des Königs von Israel, willen, weil er in Juda zügellos gehandelt und sich ganz treulos gegen Jehova erzeigt hatte.
20 Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria came to him, and distressed him, but did not strengthen him.
Und Tilgath-Pilneser, der König von Assyrien, kam wider ihn und bedrängte ihn, und stärkte ihn nicht.
21 For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of the LORD, and out of the house of the king and of the princes, and gave it to the king of Assyria: but it did not help him.
Denn Ahas beraubte das Haus Jehovas und das Haus des Königs und der Obersten, und gab das Geraubte dem König von Assyrien; aber er war ihm nicht zur Hilfe.
22 In the time of his distress, he trespassed yet more against the LORD, this same king Ahaz.
Und in der Zeit seiner Bedrängnis, da handelte er noch treuloser gegen Jehova, er, der König Ahas.
23 For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus, which struck him; and he said, "Because the gods of the kings of Aram helped them, so I will sacrifice to them, that they may help me." But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.
Und er opferte den Göttern von Damaskus, die ihn geschlagen hatten, und sprach: Da die Götter der Könige von Syrien ihnen helfen, so will ich ihnen opfern, und sie werden mir helfen; sie aber dienten ihm und ganz Israel zum Fall.
24 Ahaz gathered together the vessels of God's house, and cut in pieces the vessels of God's house, and shut up the doors of the house of the LORD; and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.
Und Ahas brachte die Geräte des Hauses Gottes zusammen und zerschlug die Geräte des Hauses Gottes; und er schloß die Türen des Hauses Jehovas, und machte sich Altäre an allen Ecken in Jerusalem.
25 In every city of Judah he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked to anger the LORD, the God of his fathers.
Und in jeder einzelnen Stadt von Juda machte er Höhen, um anderen Göttern zu räuchern. Und er reizte Jehova, den Gott seiner Väter.
26 Now the rest of his acts, and all his ways, first and last, look, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
Und das Übrige seiner Geschichte und alle seine Wege, die ersten und die letzten, siehe, sie sind geschrieben in dem Buche der Könige von Juda und Israel.
27 Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem; for they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
Und Ahas legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn in der Stadt, in Jerusalem; denn man brachte ihn nicht in die Gräber der Könige von Israel. Und Jehiskia, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
