< 1 Timothy 5 >
1 Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;
Khangham pasal te tei heak in, pa bang in na thum in; taciang a khangmoi zaw te sia suapui te bang ahizong;
2 the older women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.
Khangham nupi te sia nu te bang ahizong; khangmoi zaw te sia a thiangtho thinsung taw suapui numei bang in nei in.
3 Honor widows who are widows indeed.
Meingong tatak te zatak vawt in.
4 But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
Ahihang numei khatpo in tate a hibale tute a nei le, amate innkuan sia phatna a masabel in kilangsak tahen, taciang amate in nu le pa te vak in en kik ta uh hen: banghangziam cile tua thu sia Pathian mai ah a pha le a santak a hihi.
5 Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.
Tu in amate bek om a, Pathian muang in ama kisapna ngetna te le thungetna te sun le zan in a nei tawntung sia meingong tatak a hihi.
6 But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.
Ahihang ama lungkim natu in a nungta sia nungta ahihang a thi a hihi.
7 Also command these things, so that they will be without fault.
Amate sia paubang ngawl ahi thei natu in hi thu te vaitha in.
8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
Ahihang mi khatpo in ama mite, a tuan in ama innkuan vak ngawl, a hibale ama sia upna nial hi a, thu um ngawl te sang in pha ngawl zawlai hi.
9 Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,
Kum sawm luk a cing ngawl peuma meingong sung ah sim heak in, pasal khat bek a nei,
10 being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.
Nasep pha atu in minpha a nga; patang te keamcing in a khangtosak, leangna a do, mithiangtho te peang a silsak, haksatna thuak te a hu, na pha peuma hanciam in a zui sia meingong sazian ah sim in.
11 But refuse younger widows, for whenever their passions lead them away from Meshikha, they desire to marry;
Ahihang khangmoi meingong te sia meingong sazian sung ah hel heak in: banghangziam cile amate cilesa deina a tam ciang in pasal nei kik nuam a, Christ nung ngat kik lel uh hi;
12 having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge.
Amate in a masabel upa a nusiat uh hu in mawsiatna thuak uh hi.
13 Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.
Taciang amate datham sin uh a, inn khat zawk inn khat pai kakoai in vak uh hi; taciang datham bek dom ngawl ngualdang te thu ah kihel uh a, pau ngawl tu teng zong pau tawntung uh hi.
14 I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for reviling.
Tua ahikom khangmoi meingong te sia pasal nei in, tate nei hen a, innkuan makai tahen, tabang hile i ngalpa ze-et na hunpha a piak ngawl tu ka dei hi.
15 For already some have turned aside after Satana.
Banghangziam cile pawlkhat te Satan nungzui in lampial siat zo hi.
16 If any believing woman has widows, she must assist them, and do not let the church be burdened; that it might help those widows who are truly in need.
Thu um mi pasal a hibale numei khatpo in meingong a nei uh le, ama in en tahen, pawlpi in meingong tatak te a hu thei natu in pawlpi vanngit suan heak tahen.
17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.
Phatak in a lampui upa te, a tuan in Pathian thu le hilna sung ah na a seam te sia, a za ni in upat tu kilawm hi, ci ngaisun ta uh hen.
18 For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain." And, "The laborer is worthy of his wages."
Banghangziam cile laithiangtho in, tang a cil khuital sia a muk tuamsak heak hen. Naseam peuma a sep thaman nga tu kilawm hi, ci hi.
19 Do not receive an accusation against an elder, except at the word of two or three witnesses.
Tetti ni le thum a om bale elder te mawsiatna sang heak in.
20 Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.
Mawna vawt te sia mipi mai ah tei in, ngualdang te zong lau tu hi.
21 I command you in the sight of God, and Meshikha Yeshua, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.
Hi thu te na zui ciang in, mi khat sang in a dang khat it zaw a, doidan na taw bangma vawt heak in, ci in Pathian, Topa Jesus Christ le a tealsa vantungmi te mai ah kong vaitha hi.
22 Do not ordain anyone hastily, nor participate in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
Kuama tung ah na khut nga mameang heak in, ngualdang mawna te pawlpui heak in: nangma le nangma a thiangtho in ki keam in.
23 Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.
Na sungsang atu ahizong, tu le tu na thaneamna atu ahizong, tui bek hi nawn ngawl in, sapittui tatawm na zang in.
24 The sins of some people are obvious, going before them to judgment, but those of others show up later.
Mi pawlkhat te mawna te sia mi theampo mai ah kilang a, thukhenna mai ah pai uh hi; taciang mi pawlkhat te sia a nung pan zui uh hi.
25 In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden.
Tasia bangma in mi phawlkhat te nasep pha te zong mi theampo mai ah kilang hi; taciang a kilang ngawl lai te zong phualseal thei tuan ngawl hi.
