1 Thessalonians 5
1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
ⲁ̅ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲚⲒⲬⲢⲞⲚⲞⲤ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲒⲔⲈⲢⲞⲤ ⲚⲒⲤⲚⲎ ⲞⲨ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲬⲢⲒⲀ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ.
2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
ⲃ̅ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲀⲔⲢⲒⲂⲰⲤ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲠⲈϨⲞⲞⲨ ⲘⲠϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚⲞⲨⲢⲈϤϬⲒⲞⲨⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲈϪⲰⲢϨ ⲠⲀⲒⲢⲎϮ ⲠⲈⲦⲈϤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲘⲘⲞϤ.
3 Now when they are saying, "Peace and safety," then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.
ⲅ̅ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀⲨϢⲀⲚϪⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲦϨⲒⲢⲎⲚⲎ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲠⲦⲀϪⲢⲞ ⲦⲞⲦⲈ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲈⲜⲀⲠⲒⲚⲀ ⲈϤⲈⲒ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈϪⲰⲞⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲞⲨⲦⲀⲔⲞ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚϮⲚⲀⲔϨⲒ ⲈϢⲀⲤⲒ ⲈⲐⲎ ⲈⲦⲈⲘⲂⲞⲔⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲚⲞⲨϢⲪⲰⲦ.
4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
ⲇ̅ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲈⲚⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲬⲎ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲬⲀⲔⲒ ⲀⲚ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲈϨⲞⲞⲨ ⲦⲀϨⲈ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚϨⲀⲚⲢⲈϤϬⲒⲞⲨⲒ.
5 You are all children of light, and children of the day. We do not belong to the night, nor to darkness,
ⲉ̅ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲦⲎⲢⲞⲨ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϨⲀⲚϢⲎ ⲢⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲞⲨⲰⲒⲚⲒ ⲚⲈⲘ ϨⲀⲚϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲈϨⲞⲞⲨ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ⲆⲀ ⲚⲀ ⲠⲒⲈϪⲰⲢϨ ⲀⲚ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ⲚⲀ ⲠⲬⲀⲔⲒ ⲀⲚ.
6 so then let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober.
ⲋ̅ϨⲀⲢⲀ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲠⲈⲚⲐⲢⲈⲚⲈⲚⲔⲞⲦ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲘⲠⲔⲈⲤⲈⲠⲒ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲘⲀⲢⲈⲚⲢⲰⲒⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲚⲒⲘⲪⲒⲚ.
7 For those who sleep, sleep in the night, and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
ⲍ̅ⲚⲎ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲈⲦⲈⲚⲔⲞⲦ ⲀⲨⲈⲚⲔⲞⲦ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲈϪⲰⲢϨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲐⲀϦⲒ ⲀⲨⲐⲀϦⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲈϪⲰⲢϨ.
8 But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
ⲏ̅ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲚ ⲚⲀ ⲠⲒⲈϨⲞⲞⲨ ⲘⲀⲢⲈⲚⲈⲢⲚⲒⲘⲪⲒⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈⲚϮ ϨⲒⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚϮϦⲈⲖⲒⲂϢ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲚⲀϨϮ ⲚⲈⲘ ϮⲀⲄⲀⲠⲎ ⲚⲈⲘ ϮⲠⲈⲢⲒⲔⲈⲪⲀⲖⲈⲀ ⲚⲦⲈϮϨⲈⲖⲠⲒⲤ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲞⲨϪⲀⲒ.
9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Yeshua Meshikha,
ⲑ̅ϪⲈ ⲚⲈⲦⲀ ⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲬⲀⲚ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲨϪⲰⲚⲦ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲈⲨⲦⲀⲚϦⲞ ⲚⲞⲨϪⲀⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲈⲚ ⲠⲈⲚϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲤ
10 who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
ⲓ̅ⲪⲀⲒ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲘⲞⲨ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈϪⲰⲚ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲒⲦⲈ ⲈⲚⲢⲎⲤ ⲒⲦⲈ ⲈⲚⲈⲚⲔⲞⲦ ⲈⲚⲈⲰⲚϦ ⲚⲈⲘⲀϤ ⲈⲨⲤⲞⲠ.
11 Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲪⲀⲒ ⲘⲀⲚⲞⲘϮ ⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲎⲞⲨ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲀⲢⲈ ⲠⲒⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲠⲒⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲔⲈⲦ ⲠⲈϤϢⲪⲎⲢ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲞⲚ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ.
12 But we ask you, brothers, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you,
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲦⲈⲚϮϨⲞ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲢⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲈⲚⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲈⲈⲘⲒ ⲈⲚⲎ ⲈⲦϦⲞⲤⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲬⲎ ϦⲀϪⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϦⲈⲚⲠϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦϮⲤⲂⲰ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ.
13 and to respect and honor them in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲬⲀⲨ ⲚⲦⲈⲚ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲚϨⲞⲨⲞ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲀⲄⲀⲠⲎ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲠⲞⲨϨⲰⲂ ⲀⲢⲒϨⲒⲢⲎⲚⲎ ⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ.
14 We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲦⲈⲚϮϨⲞ ⲈⲢⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲈⲚⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲘⲀⲤⲂⲰ ⲚⲚⲒⲀⲦⲤⲂⲰ ⲘⲀⲚⲞⲘϮ ⲚⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲞⲒ ⲚⲔⲞⲨϪⲒ ⲚϨⲎⲦ ϢⲰⲠ ⲈⲢⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦϢⲰⲚⲒ ⲰⲞⲨⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ.
15 See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always seek what is good both for each other and for all.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲀⲚⲀⲨ ⲘⲠⲈⲚⲐⲢⲈ ⲞⲨⲀⲒ ϮⲚⲞⲨⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲚⲦϢⲈⲂⲒⲰ ⲚⲞⲨⲠⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲚⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ϬⲞϪⲒ ⲚⲤⲀⲠⲒⲠⲈⲐⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ.
16 Rejoice always.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲢⲀϢⲒ ⲚⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ.
17 Pray without ceasing.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲦⲰⲂϨ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲀⲦⲘⲞⲨⲚⲔ.
18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Meshikha Yeshua toward you.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ϢⲈⲠϨⲘⲞⲦ ϦⲈⲚϨⲰⲂ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲠⲈ ⲪⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲘⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ.
19 Do not quench the Rukha.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲠⲒⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲘⲠⲈⲢⲞϢⲘⲈϤ.
20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt,
ⲕ̅ⲚⲒⲠⲢⲞⲪⲎⲦⲒⲀ ⲘⲠⲈⲢϢⲞϢϤⲞⲨ.
21 but test all things; hold firmly that which is good.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ϨⲰⲂ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲀⲢⲒⲆⲞⲔⲒⲘⲀⲌⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲠⲒⲠⲈⲐⲚⲀⲚⲈϤ ⲀⲘⲞⲚⲒ ⲘⲘⲞϤ.
22 Abstain from every form of evil.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ϨⲈⲚ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲀ ϨⲰⲂ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲈⲦϨⲰⲞⲨ.
23 May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Yeshua Meshikha.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲚⲐⲞϤ ⲆⲈ ⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲚⲦⲈϮϨⲒⲢⲎⲚⲎ ⲈϤⲈⲦⲞⲨⲂⲈ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲈⲨⲤⲞⲠ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϪⲎⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈϤⲈⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲈϤⲞⲨⲞϪ ⲚⲈⲘ ϮⲮⲨⲬⲎ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲠⲒⲤⲰⲘⲀ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲀⲦⲀⲢⲒⲔⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲦⲠⲀⲢⲞⲨⲤⲒⲀ ⲘⲠⲈⲚϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ.
24 He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ϤⲈⲚϨⲞⲦ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲈⲦⲐⲰϨⲈⲘ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϤⲚⲀⲒⲢⲒ ⲞⲚ
25 Brothers, pray for us also.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲚⲈⲚⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲦⲰⲂϨ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈϪⲰⲚ.
26 Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲀⲢⲒⲀⲤⲠⲀⲌⲈⲤⲐⲈ ⲚⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲎⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲪⲒ ⲈⲤⲞⲨⲀⲂ.
27 I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ϮⲦⲀⲢⲔⲞ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲠϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲈⲐⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈϢ ⲦⲀⲒⲈⲠⲒⲤⲦⲞⲖⲎ ⲚⲚⲒⲀⲄⲒⲞⲤ ⲦⲎⲢⲞⲨ ⲚⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ.
28 The grace of our Lord Yeshua Meshikha be with you.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲠϨⲘⲞⲦ ⲘⲠⲈⲚϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲚⲈⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲦⲎⲢⲞⲨ ⲀⲘⲎⲚ
