1 Corinthians 8
1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
| اما درباره قربانی های بتها: می‌دانیم که همه علم داریم. علم باعث تکبر است، لکن محبت بنا می‌کند. | ۱ |
2 But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he does not yet know as he ought to know.
| اگر کسی گمان برد که چیزی می‌داند، هنوز هیچ نمی داند، بطوری که بایددانست. | ۲ |
3 But if anyone loves God, this one is known by him.
| اما اگر کسی خدا را محبت نماید، نزد اومعروف می‌باشد. | ۳ |
4 Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no God but one.
| پس درباره خوردن قربانی های بتها، می‌دانیم که بت در جهان چیزی نیست و اینکه خدایی دیگر جز یکی نیست. | ۴ |
5 For though there are things that are called "gods," whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many "gods" and many "lords;"
| زیرا هرچند هستند که به خدایان خوانده می‌شوند، چه در آسمان و چه درزمین، چنانکه خدایان بسیار و خداوندان بسیارمی باشند، | ۵ |
6 yet to us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Yeshua Meshikha, through whom are all things, and we live through him.
| لکن ما را یک خداست یعنی پدر که همه‌چیز از اوست و ما برای او هستیم، و یک خداوند یعنی عیسی مسیح که همه‌چیز از اوست و ما از او هستیم. | ۶ |
7 However, not all have this knowledge. But some, being so accustomed to idols until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
| ولی همه را این معرفت نیست، زیرا بعضی تابه حال به اعتقاد اینکه بت هست، آن را چون قربانی بت می‌خورند و ضمیر ایشان چون ضعیف است نجس می‌شود. | ۷ |
8 But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we do not eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.
| اما خوراک، ما رامقبول خدا نمی سازد زیرا که نه به خوردن بهتریم و نه به ناخوردن بدتر. | ۸ |
9 But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.
| لکن احتیاط کنید مبادااختیار شما باعث لغزش ضعفا گردد. | ۹ |
10 For if someone sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol's temple, won't his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?
| زیرا اگرکسی تو را که صاحب علم هستی بیند که در بتکده نشسته‌ای، آیا ضمیر آن کس که ضعیف است به خوردن قربانی های بتها بنا نمی شود؟ | ۱۰ |
11 And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whom the Meshikha died.
| و از علم تو آن برادر ضعیف که مسیح برای او مرد هلاک خواهد شد. | ۱۱ |
12 Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Meshikha.
| و همچنین چون به برادران گناه ورزیدید و ضمایر ضعیفشان را صدمه رسانیدید، همانا به مسیح خطا نمودید. | ۱۲ |
