< 1 Corinthians 8 >

1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
Na rĩrĩ, ũhoro wa irio iria ikoragwo irutĩirwo mĩhianano-rĩ, nĩtũũĩ atĩ ithuothe tũrĩ na ũmenyo ũhoro-inĩ ũcio. Ũmenyo nĩũtũmaga mũndũ etũũgĩrie, no wendo nĩ gwaka wakaga.
2 But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he does not yet know as he ought to know.
Mũndũ ũrĩa wĩciiragia atĩ nĩoĩ ũndũ-rĩ, ndooĩ ũndũ ũcio wega ta ũrĩa aagĩrĩirwo nĩ kũũmenya.
3 But if anyone loves God, this one is known by him.
No mũndũ ũrĩa wendete Ngai, ũcio nĩwe ũũĩo nĩ Ngai.
4 Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no God but one.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, ha ũhoro ũkoniĩ kũrĩa irio iria irutĩirwo mĩhianano-rĩ, nĩtũũĩ atĩ gũkũ thĩ mũhianano nĩ kĩndũ gĩa tũhũ, na atĩ gũtirĩ Ngai ũngĩ tiga o ũrĩa ũmwe.
5 For though there are things that are called "gods," whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many "gods" and many "lords;"
Tondũ o na kũngĩkorwo nĩ kũrĩ indo ciĩtagwo ngai, irĩ kũũrĩa igũrũ kana irĩ gũkũ thĩ-rĩ, amu ti-itherũ nĩ kũrĩ na “ngai” nyingĩ na “aathani” aingĩ,
6 yet to us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Yeshua Meshikha, through whom are all things, and we live through him.
no harĩ ithuĩ-rĩ, Ngai no ũmwe, na nĩwe Ithe witũ, na indo ciothe cioimire kũrĩ we na tũtũũraga muoyo nĩ ũndũ wake; na kũrĩ na Mwathani o ũmwe, nake nĩwe Jesũ Kristũ, o we ũrĩa indo ciothe ciagĩire nĩ ũndũ wake, na nowe ũtũtũũragia muoyo.
7 However, not all have this knowledge. But some, being so accustomed to idols until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
No ti andũ othe mooĩ ũguo. Andũ amwe nĩ ũndũ wa ũrĩa matũũrĩte mamenyerete mĩhianano, o na hĩndĩ ĩrĩa mekũrĩa irio ta icio meciiragia atĩ nĩirutĩirwo mũhianano, na tondũ thamiri ciao itirĩ hinya-rĩ, makanyiitwo nĩ thaahu.
8 But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we do not eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.
No irio iria tũrĩĩaga itingĩtũma tũkuhĩrĩrie Ngai; tũtingĩthũkio nĩ kwaga gũcirĩa, na tũtingĩagĩrio nĩgũcirĩa.
9 But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.
O na kũrĩ ũguo-rĩ, menyererai atĩ wĩyathi ũcio wanyu ndũgatuĩke mũhĩnga kũrĩ arĩa matarĩ na hinya.
10 For if someone sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol's temple, won't his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?
11 And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whom the Meshikha died.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, mũrũ kana mwarĩ wa Ithe witũ ũcio thamiri yake ĩtarĩ na hinya, o ũcio Kristũ aakuĩrĩire-rĩ, agathũkio nĩ ũmenyo wanyu.
12 Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Meshikha.
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa mwehĩria ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ na njĩra ĩyo, na mũgatiihia thamiri ciao icio itarĩ hinya-rĩ, nĩ Kristũ mwehĩria.
13 Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forevermore, that I do not cause my brother to stumble. (aiōn g165)
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, angĩkorwo kĩrĩa ndĩrarĩa no gĩtũme mũrũ kana mwarĩ wa Ithe witũ agwe mehia-inĩ-rĩ, ndikĩagĩrĩirwo nĩ kũrĩa nyama rĩngĩ, nĩguo ndigatũme agwe. (aiōn g165)
