< 1 Corinthians 5 >
1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even among the nations, that one has his father's wife.
It is actually reported that there is fornication among you, a kind of fornication that is not even named among the Gentiles, for a man has his father's wife.
2 You are puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he who had done this deed might be removed from among you.
And you are puffed up! You should have mourned instead and removed the man who did this from among you.
3 For I most certainly, as being absent in body but present in spirit, have already, as though I were present, judged him who has done this thing.
For though I am absent in body, I am present in spirit. And I have already judged the man who did this, just as though I were present.
4 In the name of our Lord Yeshua, you being gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Yeshua,
So when you are gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and I am with you in spirit, along with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 are to deliver such a one to Satana for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.
hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?
Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?
7 Purge out the old yeast, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For indeed Meshikha, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed for us.
Purge out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump of dough, since you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed for us.
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old yeast, neither with the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
So then, let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote to you in my letter to have no company with sexual sinners;
I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with fornicators.
10 yet not at all meaning with the sexual sinners of this world, or with the covetous and extortioners, or with idolaters; for then you would have to leave the world.
Yet I certainly did not mean the fornicators of this world or the greedy or swindlers or idolaters, since you would then need to go out of the world.
11 But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner. Do not even eat with such a person.
But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who is named as a brother if he is a fornicator or greedy, an idolater or a reviler, a drunkard or a swindler; do not even eat with such a man.
12 For what have I to do with also judging those who are outside? Do you not judge those who are within?
For what have I to do with judging those who are outside the church? Do you not judge those who are inside the church?
13 But those who are outside, God judges. "Put away the wicked person from among yourselves."
God will judge those who are outside the church. “Therefore you must remove the evil person from among you.”
