Romans 9
1 I am speaking the truth in Christ, it is no lie. My conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit that I have deep sorrow
१मी ख्रिस्तात खरे सांगतो, मी खोटे बोलत नाही आणि माझा विवेक पवित्र आत्म्यात, साक्ष देत आहे
2 and incessant anguish in my heart.
२की, मला मोठे दुःख होत आहे आणि माझ्या अंतःकरणात सतत राहणारी यातना आहे.
3 For I was on the point of praying to be accursed from Christ on behalf of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh.
३कारण दैहिक दृष्ट्या जे माझे नातेवाईक आहेत त्या माझ्या बांधवांकरता मी स्वतः ख्रिस्ताकडून शापित व्हावे असे मी इच्छीन.
4 For they are Israelites; to them belong the sonship, the Shekinah glory, the covenants, the giving of the Law; the service of the temple, and the promises;
४ते इस्राएली आहेत; त्यांच्यासाठी दत्तकपण, गौरव, करार, नियमशास्त्र, उपासना आणि वचने आहेत.
5 theirs are the patriarchs, and of them, as concerning the flesh, is Christ, who is over all, God, blessed forever, Amen. (aiōn g165)
५पूर्वज त्यांचे आहेत; त्यांच्यापासून दैहिक दृष्ट्या ख्रिस्त आला; तो सर्वांवर असलेला देव युगानुयुग धन्यवादित असो; आमेन. (aiōn g165)
6 It is not, however, as though God’s word had failed! For they are not all Israel who have sprung from Israel;
६पण देवाचे वचन, जणू व्यर्थ झाले असे नाही; कारण जे इस्राएलातले आहेत ते सर्वच इस्राएली नाहीत,
7 they are not all children of Abraham because they are Abraham’s descendants. The promise was, In Isaac shall thy posterity be called.
७आणि ते अब्राहामाचे संतान आहेत म्हणून सर्व मुले आहेत असे नाही; तर ‘इसहाकालाच तुझे संतान म्हणले जाईल’ असे वचन आहे;
8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as his posterity.
८म्हणजे देहाची मुले ही देवाची मुले नाहीत, पण वचनाची मुले ही संतान म्हणून गणलेली आहेत.
9 For thus is the word of promise, According to this season I will come, and Sarah shall bear a son.
९कारण वचनाचा शब्द असा आहे की, ‘मी या ऋतूप्रमाणे येईन आणि सारेला मुलगा असेल.’
10 And not only so, but when Rebecca was pregnant by our forefather Isaac, though one man was the father of both children,
१०आणि इतकेच नाही; पण ज्या एकापासून, म्हणजे आपला पूर्वज इसहाक ह्याच्यापासून रिबेका गरोदर असतेवेळी,
11 and even though they were still unborn, and had done nothing either good or bad, in order that the purpose of God might stand according to election, not of works, but of Him who called,
११आणि मुलांचा जन्म झाला नसल्यामुळे काही चांगले किंवा वाईट कोणी केले नसताना निवडीप्रमाणे देवाची योजना कायम रहावी म्हणून कृतीप्रमाणे नाही पण बोलावणार्‍याच्या इच्छेप्रमाणे,
12 it was said to her, The elder shall serve the younger.
१२तिला सांगण्यात आले होते की, ‘मोठा धाकट्याची सेवा करील.’
13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
१३कारण पवित्र शास्त्रात असे लिहिले आहे की, ‘याकोबावर मी प्रीती केली पण एसावाचा द्वेष केला.’
14 What shall we say then? that there is injustice with God? No indeed.
१४मग आपण काय म्हणावे? देवाजवळ अनीती आहे काय? तसे न होवो.
15 His words to Moses are. I will have mercy on whom I choose to have mercy; I will have compassion on whom I choose to have compassion.
१५कारण तो मोशेला म्हणतो, ‘मी ज्याच्यावर दया करतो त्याच्यावर दया करीन आणि मी ज्याच्यावर उपकार करतो त्याच्यावर उपकार करीन.’
16 So then it is not a question of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy.
१६तर मग जो इच्छा धरतो त्याच्यामुळे नाही किंवा जो धावतो त्याच्यामुळे नाही, पण जो देव दया करतो त्याच्यामुळे हे आहे.
17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, It is for this very purpose that I have raised you up, To show in you my power, And to proclaim my name far and wide, in all the earth.
१७म्हणून शास्त्रलेख फारोला म्हणतो, ‘मी तुला ह्यासाठी मोठे केले की, तुझ्याद्वारे मी माझे सामर्थ्य प्रकट करावे आणि सर्व पृथ्वीवर माझे नाव गाजविले जावे.’
18 So then he has mercy on whom he will, and whom he will, he hardens.
१८म्हणजे परमेश्वराची इच्छा असेल त्याच्यावर तो दया करतो आणि त्याची इच्छा असेल त्यास तो कठिण करतो.
19 Then you will say to me. "Why does he still go on finding fault? Who can withstand his will?"
१९तू ह्यावर म्हणशील की, तो तरीही दोष का लावतो? त्याच्या योजनेला कोणी विरोध केला आहे?
20 "Nay, but who are you, O man, that replies to God? Shall the thing formed say unto him who formed it, "Why did you do me like this?"
२०पण उलट अरे बंधू, तू जो देवाला उलटून बोलतोस तो तू कोण आहेस? तू मला असे का केलेस, अशी कोणती वस्तू करणार्‍याला म्हणू शकेल?
21 Or has not the potter power over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for noble, and another for ignoble uses?
२१कुंभाराने एकाच गोळ्यामधून एक पात्र मानासाठी तर दुसरे अपमानासाठी करायला मातीवर अधिकार नाही काय?
22 But what if God, while intending to show forth his wrath, and to make known his power, yet endured, with much long-suffering, vessels of wrath, fitted to destruction?
२२मग आपण आपला क्रोध व्यक्त करावा आणि आपले सामर्थ्य प्रकट करावे असे जरी देव इच्छीत असला, तरी त्याने जर नाशासाठी तयार केलेल्या क्रोधाच्या पात्रांना मोठ्या सहनशीलतेने वागविले,
23 And what if he thus purposed to make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared for glory?
२३आणि गौरवासाठी आधी योजलेल्या दयेच्या पात्रांवर आपल्या गौरवाच धन प्रकट करावे म्हणून त्याने असे केले तर काय?
24 Now such are we whom he has called, not only from among the Jews, but also from among the Gentiles.
२४त्याने ज्यांना केवळ यहूद्यांमधून नाही, पण परराष्ट्रीयामधूनही बोलावले आहे ते आपण ती दयेची पात्रे आहोत.
25 As he also said in Hosea. Those who were not my people I will call "my people," And her "beloved" who was not beloved;
२५कारण तो होशेयाच्या ग्रंथात असेही म्हणतो की, ‘जे माझी प्रजा नव्हते त्यांना मी माझी प्रजा म्हणेन, आणि जी माझी आवडती नव्हती, तिला मी माझी आवडती म्हणेन.
26 And in that very spot where it was told them, "You are not my people," There they shall be called "Sons of the living God."
२६आणि असे होईल की त्यांना ज्याठिकाणी, तुम्ही माझी प्रजा नाही, असे म्हणले होते, तेथे त्यांना जिवंत देवाचे पुत्र म्हणले जाईल.’
27 And in regard to Israel, Isaiah exclaims. Though the number of the sons of Israel be like the sands of the sea, it is but a remnant of those who shall be saved;
२७यशयादेखील इस्राएलाविषयी ओरडून म्हणतो की, ‘इस्राएलाच्या पुत्रांची संख्या जरी समुद्राच्या वाळूसारखी झाली, तरी एक अवशेष वाचवला जाईल.
28 for the Lord will execute his word upon the earth, finishing it and cutting it short.
२८कारण सर्व संपवून थांबविल्याप्रमाणे प्रभू पृथ्वीवर आपले वचन पूर्ण करील.’
29 Even as in an earlier passage, Isaiah says, Except the Lord of Sabbath had us some few descendants, we should have become like Sodom, and should have fared like Gomorrah.
२९आणि यशयाने पूर्वी सांगितल्याप्रमाणे, सैन्यांच्या प्रभूने जर आपल्यासाठी बीज ठेवले नसते तर आम्ही सदोमासारखे असतो आणि गमोरासारखे झालो असतो.
30 What then shall we say? That Gentiles who never pursed righteousness have overtaken it, even the righteousness of faith?
३०मग आपण काय म्हणावे? तर जे परराष्ट्रीय नीतिमत्त्वाच्या मागे लागले नाहीत त्यांनी नीतिमत्त्व मिळविले आहे, म्हणजे विश्वासाने मिळणारे नीतिमत्त्व मिळविले आहे.
31 But that the descendants of Israel, who were in pursuit of a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law?
३१पण जे इस्राएल नीतिमत्त्वाच्या नियमाच्या मागे लागले ते त्या नियमापर्यंत पोहोचले नाहीत.
32 And why? Because they sought it not by faith, but thought to gain it by works. They stumbled at the stone of stumbling;
३२आणि का? कारण ते विश्वासाने नाही, पण कृतींनी त्याच्यामागे लागले कारण ते अडखळणाच्या दगडावर अडखळले.
33 even as it is written. Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense; but he that believes on Him shall not be put to shame.
३३कारण पवित्र शास्त्रात असे लिहिले आहे की, ‘बघा, मी सियोनात एक अडखळण्याचा दगड, एक अडथळ्याचा खडक ठेवतो. आणि जो कोणी त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवतो तो लज्जित होणार नाही.’
