< Romans 5 >

1 Since we stand justified as the result of faith, let us continue to enjoy the peace we have with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲁⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
2 Through him also we have had our access into this grace in which we have taken our stand, and are exulting in hope of the glory of God.
ⲃ̅ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁ ⳿ⲡϫⲓⲛ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲡⲁⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲛϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ.
3 And not only so, but we are actually exulting also even in our troubles; for we know that trouble works fortitude,
ⲅ̅ⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲛⲉⲣ⳿ⲡⲕⲉϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓϩⲟϫϩⲉϫ ⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲡⲓϩⲟϫϩⲉϫ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲩϩⲩⲡⲟⲙⲟⲛⲏ.
4 and fortitude character, and character, hope -
ⲇ̅ϯϩⲩⲡⲟⲙⲟⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲏ ϯⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ.
5 a hope which never disappoints us. For through the Holy Spirit who has given to us, the "brimming river of the love of God" has overflowed in our hearts.
ⲉ̅ϯϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲥϭⲓϣⲓⲡⲓ ϫⲉ ϯⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲁⲥⲫⲱⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲏ ⲓϥ ⲛⲁⲛ.
6 For while we were still without strength, Christ died in due time for the ungodly.
ⲋ̅ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲥⲑⲉⲛⲏⲥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲏⲟⲩ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲁⲥⲉⲃⲏⲥ.
7 Why, a man will hardly give his life for another, even for a righteous man, though perchance for a good man one might even take it upon himself to die.
ⲍ̅ⲙⲟⲅⲓⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲁⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲧⲁⲭⲁ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲉⲣⲧⲟⲗⲙⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉϥ.
8 But God gives proof of his love to us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
ⲏ̅⳿ϥⲧⲁϩⲟ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲫϯ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ.
9 By how much more, then, being now justified in his blood, shall we be saved through him from the wrath of God.
ⲑ̅⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϫⲱⲛⲧ.
10 For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved in his life.
ⲓ̅ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲁϫⲓ ⲁⲛϩⲱⲧⲡ ⳿ⲉⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲛϩⲱⲧⲡ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥⲱⲛϧ.
11 And not only that, but we exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now obtained our reconciliation.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲛⲉⲣ⳿ⲡⲕⲉϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲛϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓϩⲱⲧⲡ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ.
12 Thus, then, sin came into the world through one man, and through sin came death and so death spread to all men, because all had sinned.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲁ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲁ ⲡⲓⲙⲟⲩ ϣⲉ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ.
13 For prior to the Law, sin actually existed in the world, but sin was not set down to man’s account when there was no law.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ϣⲁ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁⲣⲉ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩⲱⲡ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϣⲟⲡ.
14 Nevertheless, from Adam to Moses death reigned as king, even over those who had not sinned after the likeness of Adam’s transgression. Now Adam is a type of Him who was to come.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲁⲇⲁⲙ ϣⲁ ⲙⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛϯⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲁⲇⲁⲙ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲧⲩⲡⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ.
15 But the free gift is not like the transgression; for if through the transgression of that one man the rest on men died, much more did the grace of God and the gift given in his grace in the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow unto the rest of men.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁ⳿ⲡⲧⲱⲙⲁ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲡⲧⲱⲙⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲁ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲇⲱⲣⲉ⳿ⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ.
16 And it is not with the free gift as it was through the one that sinned; for the judgment came from one transgression unto condemnation; but the free gift came from many transgressions unto acquittal.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲁϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲡⲓϩⲁⲡ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲕⲣⲓⲙⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁ⳿ⲡⲧⲱⲙⲁ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟ.
17 For if through the transgression of the one, death reigned as king through the one, much more shall those who receive the overflowing grace and gift of righteousness reign as kings in life through One, through Jesus Christ.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲁ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲇⲱⲣⲉ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣⲟ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϧ ϣⲁ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
18 It follows then, as through the transgression of one man came condemnation unto all men, even so through the act of righteousness of One came acquittal and life to all men.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲩⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϩⲁⲡ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲱⲛϧ.
19 For just as through the disobedience of one man the rest were made sinners; even so by the obedience of One shall all the rest be made righteous.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲑⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲏϣ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲑⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲏϣ.
20 Now law was brought in so that transgression might abound; but where sin abounded, grace super-abounded;
ⲕ̅ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲁϣⲁⲓ ⲫⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲡⲉϥⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉⲣϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲁϣⲁⲓ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ.
21 in order that as sin has ruled as king in death, so also grace might rule as king in righteousness which issues in eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord, - ours! (aiōnios g166)
