< Philippians 1 >
1 Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, and to the elders and deacons.
Paul and Timothy, servants of Meshikha Yeshua; To all the saints in Meshikha Yeshua who are at Dephilipus, with the qashisha and meshamshana:
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Yeshua Meshikha.
3 Upon every remembrance of you I am ever thanking my God for you all;
I thank my God whenever I remember you,
4 in every petition of mine in your behalf I am offering my prayer with joy for your fellowship in forwarding the gospel,
always in every prayer of mine for all of you, making my requests with joy,
5 from the first day you heard it until now.
for your partnership in the Good News from the first day until now;
6 Of this I am fully persuaded, that He who has begun a good work in you will go on completing it until the day of Jesus Christ.
being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Meshikha Yeshua.
7 It is but just that I should be thus mindful of you all, because I have you in my heart, and because in these fetters of mine and in my defense and confirmation of the gospel you are all my fellow partners in the privilege.
It is even right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, because, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.
8 God is my witness how I yearn for you all in the tenderness of Christ Jesus.
For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Meshikha Yeshua.
9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound yet more and more in intelligence and insight
This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment;
10 for testing things that differ, so that you may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ,
so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be pure and blameless for the Day of Meshikha;
11 being filled with the fruit of righteousness through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.
being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which are through Yeshua Meshikha, to the glory and praise of God.
12 I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has turned out rather to help than to the hindrance of the gospel.
Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News;
13 Throughout the whole Praetorian guard and among all the others it has become plain that these chains of mine are for the sake of Christ;
so that it became evident to the whole praetorian guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Meshikha;
14 and most of the brothers in the Lord, made confident in the Lord through my imprisonment, are much emboldened to speak God’s message with free and fearless confidence.
and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word without fear.
15 Some indeed are preaching Christ out of envy and contentiousness, but others from good-will.
Some indeed preach Meshikha even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.
16 but the former preach Christ out of rivalry, not sincerely, because they think they are adding bitterness to my bonds.
The latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.
17 These latter out of their love, because they know that I am set here for the defense of the gospel;
The former insincerely preach Meshikha from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains.
18 What of it? In any case, whether in pretence or in honest truth, Christ is still preached, and in that I am rejoicing, yes, and will rejoice.
What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether out of false motives or in truth, Meshikha is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.
19 For I know that these things will turn out to my salvation through your prayers and a rich supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance, through your petition and the supply of the Rukha of Yeshua Meshikha,
20 So it is my keen expectation and hope that I shall never feel ashamed, but that with fearless courage, now as hither to, Christ may be magnified in my body, whether by my life or by my death.
according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Meshikha will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.
21 For, with me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
For to me to live is Meshikha, and to die is gain.
22 But now, if life in the flesh, if this be the fruit of my toil - what to choose I do not know,
But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I do not make known what I will choose.
23 but am in a quandary between the two. I am perplexed. I have a strong desire to break camp and to be with Christ, which is far better;
But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Meshikha, which is far better.
24 but for your sakes it is more necessary that I should still live on in the body.
Yet, to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.
25 And because I am convinced of this, I know that I shall live, and go on working side by side with you all for your progress and joy in the faith,
And since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,
26 so that you may find me fresh cause of exultation in Christ Jesus, because of my presence among you once more.
that your rejoicing may abound in Meshikha Yeshua in me through my presence with you again.
27 Only do lead lives worthy of the gospel of Christ; so that whether I come to see you or hear reports concerning you in my absence, I may know that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one soul, enlisted in a common struggle for the faith of the gospel,
Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Good News of Meshikha, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;
28 and in no way terrorized by its enemies. For you fearlessness is a clear indication of coming ruin for them, but of salvation for you at the hands of God.
and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.
29 For it has been granted you in Christ’s behalf, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake,
Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Meshikha, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,
30 while you wage the same conflict which you once saw in me, and now hear that I maintain.
having the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear is in me.
