< Mark 15 >

1 As soon as it was down, after the high priests had conferred with the elders and the whole Sanhedrin, they bound Jesus, and took him away, and handed him over to Pilate.
Ní kùtùkùtù òwúrọ̀, àwọn olórí àlùfáà, àwọn àgbàgbà, àwọn olùkọ́ òfin àti gbogbo àjọ ìgbìmọ̀ fi ẹnu kò lórí ohun tí wọn yóò ṣe. Wọ́n sì de Jesu, wọ́n mú un lọ, wọ́n sì fi lé Pilatu lọ́wọ́.
2 Pilate questioned him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" In reply Jesus said, "It is as you say."
Pilatu sì bi í léèrè, ó ni, “Ṣe ìwọ ni ọba àwọn Júù?” Jesu sì dáhùn pé, “Gẹ́gẹ́ bi ìwọ ti wí náà ni.”
3 When the chief priests continued making many accusations against him, Pilate repeatedly questioned him.
Àwọn olórí àlùfáà fi ẹ̀sùn ohun púpọ̀ kàn án.
4 "Do you make no answer?" he said,
Pilatu sì tún bi í léèrè pé, “Ṣe ìwọ kò dáhùn ni? Wo gbogbo ẹ̀sùn tí wọ́n fi kàn ọ.”
5 "See, how many accusations they are making." But Jesus no longer made any answer, at which Pilate wondered.
Ṣùgbọ́n Jesu kò dalóhùn síbẹ̀, tó bẹ́ẹ̀ ti ẹnu fi ya Pilatu.
6 Now at the time of the feast it was customary to release to them a prisoner, whatever one they asked for.
Ní báyìí, nígbà àjọ, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àṣà, òun a máa dá òǹdè kan sílẹ̀ fún wọn, ẹnikẹ́ni tí wọ́n bá béèrè fún.
7 A man named Barabbas was there in prison, with some rioters who had committed murder during an uprising.
Ọkùnrin kan wà tí orúkọ rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Baraba. Wọ́n ti ju òun àti àwọn ọlọ̀tẹ̀ ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀ sí ọgbà ẹ̀wọ̀n, nítorí wọ́n ṣọ̀tẹ̀ sí ìjọba, wọ́n sì pa ènìyàn nínú ìdìtẹ̀ wọn.
8 So when the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to follow his usual custom,
Ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn sì lọ bá Pilatu, wọ́n ní kí ó ṣe bí ó ti máa ń ṣe fún wọn ní ọdọọdún.
9 he asked them, "Do you wish me to release the King of the Jews?"
Pilatu béèrè lọ́wọ́ wọn wí pé, “Ṣe ẹ̀yin ń fẹ́ kí èmi dá ọba àwọn Júù sílẹ̀ fún yin?”
10 For he recognized that it was through spite that the high priests had handed him over.
Òun mọ̀ pé nítorí ìlara ni àwọn olórí àlùfáà ṣe fà Jesu lé òun lọ́wọ́.
11 But the chief priests incited the crowds to have Barabbas released to them, instead.
Nígbà náà ni àwọn olórí àlùfáà ru ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn sókè pé, kí ó kúkú dá Baraba sílẹ̀ fún wọn.
12 So Pilate spoke to them once more, "What them shall I do to him you call ‘King of the Jews’?"
Pilatu sì tún béèrè lọ́wọ́ wọn pé, “Kí ni ẹ̀yin ń fẹ́ kí èmi kí ó ṣe pẹ̀lú ẹni ti ẹ̀yin n pè ní ọba àwọn Júù?”
13 Then they shouted again, "Crucify him!"
Wọ́n sì tún kígbe sókè pé, “Kàn án mọ àgbélébùú!”
14 "Why, what wrong has he done?" Pilate kept saying. But they shouted furiously, "Crucify him!"
Nígbà náà ni Pilatu bi wọn léèrè pé, “Èéṣe? Búburú kí ni ó ṣe?” Wọ́n sì kígbe sókè gidigidi wí pé, “Kàn án mọ́ àgbélébùú!”
15 So Pilate, who wished to make himself strong with the crowd, released Barabbas to them, and gave Jesus over for crucifixion, after he had scourged him.
Pilatu sì ń fẹ́ ṣe èyí tí ó wu àwọn ènìyàn, ó dá Baraba sílẹ̀ fún wọn. Nígbà tí ó sì na Jesu tan o fà á lé wọn lọ́wọ́ láti kàn an mọ́ àgbélébùú.
16 The soldiers then led him away into the courtyard (Praetorium), and called together the whole battalion.
Àwọn ọmọ-ogun sì fà á jáde lọ sínú ààfin (tí a ń pè ní Pretoriomu), wọ́n sì pe gbogbo ẹgbẹ́ àwọn ọmọ-ogun jọ.
17 They clothed Jesus in purple, and plaited a crown of thorns, and placed it on his head.
Wọn sì fi aṣọ aláwọ̀ àlùkò wọ̀ ọ́, wọ́n hun adé ẹ̀gún, wọ́n sì fi dé e ní orí.
18 Then they began to salute him. "Hail, King of the Jews," they said.
Wọ́n sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí i kí ì wí pé, Kábíyèsí, ọba àwọn Júù.
19 They kept striking him on the head with a rod, and spitting upon him; and on bended knee they did him homage.
Wọ́n sì fi ọ̀pá lù ú lórí, wọ́n sì tutọ́ sí i lára, wọ́n sì kúnlẹ̀ níwájú rẹ̀, wọ́n sì foríbalẹ̀ fún un.
20 And after their sport with him, they stripped off the purple robe, and put on his own clothes, and led him out to crucify him.
Nígbà tí wọ́n sì fi ṣẹ̀sín tan, wọ́n sì bọ aṣọ elése àlùkò náà kúrò lára rẹ̀, wọ́n sì fi aṣọ rẹ̀ wọ̀ ọ́, wọ́n sì mú un jáde lọ láti kàn án mọ́ àgbélébùú.
21 Simon a Cyrenian, a passer-by, who was coming from the country (the father of Alexander and Rufus), they commandeered to carry the cross of Jesus.
Wọ́n rí ọkùnrin kan tí ń kọjá lọ. Simoni ará Kirene. Òun ni baba Aleksanderu àti Rufusi. Wọ́n sì mú un ní tipátipá pé, kí ó rú àgbélébùú Jesu.
22 So they led him to the place called Golgotha - a name which means "the place of a skull."
Wọ́n sì mú Jesu wá sí Gọlgọta (èyí tí ìtumọ̀ rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Ibi Agbárí)
23 There they attempted to give him wine mingled with myrrh; but he refused it.
Wọ́n sì fi myrri wáìnì tí a dàpọ̀ mọ́ òjìá fún un mu, ṣùgbọ́n òun kò gbà á.
24 Then they crucified him, and divided his garments among them, casting lots upon them to see what each should take.
Wọ́n sì kàn án mọ́ àgbélébùú. Wọ́n sì pín aṣọ rẹ̀ láàrín ara wọn, wọ́n dìbò lórí àwọn aṣọ náà ni kí wọn bá à lè mọ èyí tí yóò jẹ́ ti olúkúlùkù.
25 It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him.
Ní wákàtí kẹta ọjọ́ ni wọ́n kàn án mọ́ àgbélébùú.
26 Over his head there was written the words of the charge against him. "The King of the Jews"
Àkọlé ìfisùn tí wọ́n kọ sókè orí rẹ̀ ni: Ọba àwọn Júù.
27 Now with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right hand and one on his left.
Wọ́n sì kan àwọn olè méjì mọ́ àgbélébùú pẹ̀lú rẹ̀, ọ̀kan lọ́wọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ̀, èkejì lọ́wọ́ òsì rẹ̀.
29 And the passers-by kept jeering at him, wagging their heads and saying. "Ah! you who were to ‘destroy the sanctuary and rebuild it in three days,’ save yourself!
Àwọn tí ń kọjá lọ sì ń fi ṣe ẹlẹ́yà, wọ́n ń mi orí wọn pẹ̀lú, wọ́n sì ké pé, “Háà! Ìwọ tí yóò wó tẹmpili tí yóò sì tún un kọ́ láàrín ọjọ́ mẹ́ta,
30 Come down from the cross!
sọ̀kalẹ̀ láti orí àgbélébùú wá, kí o sì gba ara rẹ là!”
31 In the same way the high priests also, as well as the Scribes, kept on mocking him to themselves. "He saved others," they said, "but himself he cannot save.
Bákan náà ni àwọn olórí àlùfáà àti àwọn olùkọ́ òfin fi í ṣẹ̀sín láàrín ara wọn, wọ́n wí pé, “Ó gba àwọn ẹlòmíràn là ṣùgbọ́n, ara rẹ̀ ni kò lè gbàlà.
32 The Christ! The King of Israel! Let him now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe." They also who had been crucified with Jesus kept reviling him.
Jẹ́ kí Kristi, ọba Israẹli, sọ̀kalẹ̀ láti orí igi àgbélébùú wá nísinsin yìí kí àwa kí ó lè rí i, kí àwa kí ó sì lè gbàgbọ́.” Bákan náà, àwọn ti a kàn mọ́ àgbélébùú pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ sì ń kẹ́gàn rẹ̀.
33 At noon a darkness came over the whole country, lasting until three in the afternoon.
Nígbà tí ó di wákàtí kẹfà, òkùnkùn bo gbogbo ilẹ̀ títí di wákàtí kẹsànán.
34 At three o’clock Jesus cried in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
Ní wákàtí kẹsànán ni Jesu kígbe sókè ní ohùn rara, ó ní, “Eli, Eli, lama sabakitani?” (ìtumọ̀ èyí tí í ṣe, “Ọlọ́run mi, Ọlọ́run mi, èéṣe tí ìwọ fi kọ̀ mí sílẹ̀?”).
35 When they heard this, some of the bystanders said, "Listen, he is calling for Elijah."
Nígbà tí àwọn kan nínú àwọn tí wọ́n dúró níbẹ̀ gbọ́, wọ́n sì wí pé, “Wò ó ó ń pe Elijah.”
36 Then a man ran and filled a sponge full of sour wine, and put it on a stick, and offered it to him to drink, saying, "Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down!"
Nígbà náà ni ẹnìkan sáré lọ ki kànìnkànìn bọ inú ọtí kíkan, ó fi lé orí ọ̀pá, ó sì nà án sí Jesu kí ó lè mu ún. Ó wí pé, “Ẹ jẹ́ kí a máa wò ó, bóyá Elijah yóò wá sọ̀ ọ́ kalẹ̀ wa.”
37 But Jesus uttered a loud cry and expired.
Jesu sì tún kígbe sókè ni ohùn rara, ó jọ̀wọ́ ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ lọ́wọ́.
38 And the curtain of the Sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom.
Aṣọ ìkélé tẹmpili sì fàya sí méjì láti òkè dé ìsàlẹ̀.
39 Then the army captain, who was standing facing Jesus when he thus died, said, "in truth this man was a Son of God."
Nígbà tí balógun ọ̀rún tí ó dúró lẹ́gbẹ̀ ọ̀dọ̀ Jesu rí i tí ó kígbe sókè báyìí, tí ó sì jọ̀wọ́ èmí rẹ̀ lọ́wọ́, ó wí pé, “Lóòótọ́ Ọmọ Ọlọ́run ni ọkùnrin yìí í ṣe.”
40 There were some women also watching from a distance. Among them were both Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of Jamesthe younger and of Joses, and Salome,
Àwọn obìnrin kan wà níbẹ̀ pẹ̀lú, tí wọ́n ń wò ó láti òkèèrè. Maria Magdalene wà lára àwọn obìnrin náà, àti Maria ìyá Jakọbu kékeré àti ti Jose, àti Salome.

43 there came Joseph of Arimathea, a Councilor, honorable in rank, who was himself also looking for the kingdom of God. He boldly went in to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.
Josẹfu ará Arimatea wá, ọ̀kan pàtàkì nínú àwọn ọmọ ìgbìmọ̀, ẹni tí ń retí ìjọba Ọlọ́run, ó fi ìgboyà lọ sí iwájú Pilatu láti tọrọ òkú Jesu.
44 But Pilate wondered whether he were already dead. So he summoned the army captain, and inquired if he had been any time dead;
Ẹnu ya Pilatu láti gbọ́ pé Jesu ti kú. Nítorí náà ó pe balógun ọ̀rún, ó sì bí i léèrè bóyá Jesu ti kú nítòótọ́.
45 and when he learned the fact from the army captain he gave the body to Joseph.
Nígbà tí balógun ọ̀rún náà sì fún Pilatu ni ìdánilójú pé Jesu ti kú, Pilatu jọ̀wọ́ òkú rẹ̀ fún Josẹfu.
46 So Joseph bought him a sheet, and took Jesus down, wound him in the sheet, and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of a rock, and then rolled a stone against the opening of the tomb;
Josẹfu sì ti ra aṣọ ọ̀gbọ̀ wá. Ó sọ òkú Jesu kalẹ̀: ó sì fi aṣọ ọ̀gbọ̀ náà dì í. Ó sì tẹ́ ẹ sí inú ibojì, tí wọ́n gbẹ́ sí ara àpáta. Ó wá yí òkúta dí ẹnu ibojì náà.
47 and Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses were watching to see where he was laid.
