Luke 5
1 On one occasion when he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, the crowd pressed upon him to listen to the word of God.
Jednoho dne stál Ježíš u Genezaretského jezera. Lidé se kolem něho tlačili a chtěli slyšet jeho kázání.
2 But he saw two fishing-boats on the shore of the lake; the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets.
Všiml si, že u břehu jsou dvě lodi. Opodál prali rybáři svoje sítě.
3 He went on board one of the boats which belonged to Simon, and asked him to push out a little way from land. Then he sat down and continued to teach the crowd from the boat.
Posadil se do jedné lodi, která patřila Šimonovi, a požádal ho, aby ho zavezl kousek od břehu. Odtud pak kázal zástupům.
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Push out into deep water, and let down your nets for a haul."
Když skončil, navrhl Šimonovi: „Zajeď s lodí na hloubku a roztáhněte sítě k lovu.“
5 "Master," answered Simon, "although we toiled all night, we took nothing; but at your bidding I will let down the nets."
Šimon namítal: „Pane, celou noc jsme se namáhali, ale marně. Když to však říkáš ty, zkusím to ještě jednou.“
6 And when they had done this they enclosed a great multitude of fish; and their nets began to break.
Vypluli a zatáhli takové množství ryb, že se i sítě trhaly.
7 So they motioned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. They came and filled both boats, so that they began to sink.
Museli si zavolat na pomoc své přátele z druhé lodi. Obě lodi byly nakonec rybami tak naplněny, že se div nepotopily.
8 When Simon Peter saw this he fell down at the knees of Jesus, exclaiming, "Depart from me, O Lord, for I am a sinful man!"
Když to viděl Šimon, padl před Ježíšem na kolena a prosil: „Odejdi Pane, neobstojím v tvé blízkosti, jsem hříšný člověk.“
9 (For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the haul of fish which they had made;
Všichni rybáři, kteří u toho byli – mezi nimi také Šimonovi přátelé, Jakub a Jan, synové Zebedeovi, žasli nad tím neobvyklým úlovkem. Ježíš řekl Šimonovi: „Neboj se! Učiním tě rybářem lidí. Budeš je získávat pro mne.“
10 and so were Simon’s partners, Jamesand John, sons of Zebedee.) But Jesus answered Simon. "Fear not; from this time on, you will be catching men."
11 So when they had brought their boats to land they left everything and followed him.
Přirazili s loděmi ke břehu, všechno tam nechali a šli s Ježíšem.
12 Another time when he was in one of their cities, there was a man there full of leprosy. And he, upon seeing Jesus, fell on his face and implored him. "Lord," he said, "if only you choose you can make me clean."
V jednom městečku potkal Ježíš člověka s pokročilým malomocenstvím. Ubožák před ním poklekl a prosil: „Pane, kdybys chtěl, mohl bys mne uzdravit.“
13 And he stretched out his hand and touching him, said. "I do choose; be made clean."
Ježíš se ho dotkl a řekl: „Ano, chci, buď zdráv!“V tom okamžiku malomocenství zmizelo.
14 And instantly the leprosy left him. Jesus ordered him to tell no one, "But be off," he said, "show yourself to the priest, and make the offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."
Ježíš mu poručil: „Nikomu o tom nevyprávěj, jdi, ukaž se knězi, ať tě prohlásí za zdravého, a pak obětuj předepsanou oběť vděčnosti.“
15 But all the more the report about him continued to spread; and great crowds began to come together to hear him, and to be healed of their infirmities.
Zpráva o Ježíšovi se rychle šířila. Lidé za ním přicházeli v houfech, aby ho slyšeli a aby uzdravoval jejich nemoci.
16 But Jesus himself habitually withdrew into solitary places, and there used to pray.
On si však vždycky našel čas, aby se v ústraní modlil.
17 One day he was teaching, and near to him were seated Pharisees and teachers of the Law, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.
Jednoho dne se kolem Ježíše shromáždili farizejové a učitelé zákona z různých měst Galileje a Judska a dokonce i z Jeruzaléma. Posadili se kolem něho a naslouchali mu. I zde mu dal Bůh moc k uzdravování.
18 And behold there came men carrying a paralytic on a bed; and they tried to bring him and lay him before Jesus, but they could not because of the crowd.
Nějací lidé přinesli na nosítkách ochrnutého muže. Chtěli ho vnést dveřmi a položit před Ježíše, ale bylo tam tolik lidí, že nemohli projít. Vystoupili tedy na střechu a otvorem spustili nemocného i s lehátkem přímo před něho. Když
19 So they went up on the roof, and let him down through the tiling, with his bed, into the crowd, before Jesus.
20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to him, "Man, your sins are forgiven you!"
Ježíš viděl, kolik důvěry v něho mají, řekl: „Příteli, tvoje hříchy jsou ti odpuštěny.“
21 And the Scribes and Pharisees began to cavil. "Who is this?" they asked, "speaking blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
Učitelé zákona a farizejové uvažovali: „Jak se může opovážit něco takového říci? To je přece rouhání. Nikdo jiný než Bůh nemůže odpouštět hříchy!“
22 Conscious of their cavilings, Jesus answered, saying.
Ježíš dobře věděl, co si myslí, a proto řekl: „To vám vadí?
23 "What is this caviling in your hearts? Which is easier to say, "Your sins are forgiven," or to say, "Rise and walk?"
Co je snazší? Zvěstovat člověku odpuštění jeho hříchů, anebo ho uzdravit?
24 But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins (he said to the paralytic), "I bid you rise, take up your bed, and go to your house."
Přesvědčím vás, že Syn člověka má na zemi právo odpouštět hříchy.“Obrátil se k ochrnutému se slovy: „Vstaň, vezmi si svoje lehátko a jdi domů!“
25 And instantly he arose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and went away to his house, glorifying God.
A tak se stalo: před očima všech muž vstal, sbalil svou rohož, šel domů a cestou hlasitě děkoval Bohu.
26 Astonishment fell upon them all, and they began to glorify God, and they were filled with awe, and they said, "We have seen strange things today."
Celé shromáždění bylo vzrušeno a lidé, plni svaté bázně, chválili Boha a říkali: „Dnes jsme viděli neuvěřitelné věci.“
27 After this he went forth and noticed a tax-gatherer, named Levi, sitting at the tax-office, and said to him, "Follow me."
Ježíš šel dál. Cestou uviděl v celnici výběrčího daní jménem Levi a řekl mu: „Pojď, staň se mým následovníkem!“
28 He rose, left everything, and followed him.
Levi nechal všeho, vstal a šel za Ježíšem.
29 Levi also made him a great reception at his house. There was a large party of tax-gatherers and others who were dining with them.
Doma pak vystrojil pro Ježíše a jeho žáky hostinu. Na ni pozval i mnoho svých dřívějších kolegů.
30 And the Pharisees and their scribes began complaining to his disciples, saying, "Why are you eating and drinking with tax- gatherers and sinners?"
To pohoršilo farizeje a učitele zákona, takže vytýkali učedníkům: „Proč jíte a pijete s lidmi, kterými každý slušný člověk pohrdá?“
31 Jesus answered them saying. "They who are well have no need of a physician, but they who are ill.
Ježíš na to odpověděl: „Lékaře nepotřebují zdraví, ale nemocní.
32 I am not come to call the righteous but sinners, to repentance."
Nepřišel jsem volat k pokání ty, kteří mají o sobě dobré mínění, ale hříšníky.“
33 Again they said unto him. "Why do the disciples of Johnfast frequently, and make supplications, as also do the disciples of the Pharisees, but your disciples are eating and drinking?"
Někteří farizejové Ježíšovi předhazovali: „Janovi učedníci se často s postem modlí a právě tak i naši žáci. Jak to tedy, že tvoji hodují?“
34 "Can you make the bridal party fast," he asked, while the bridegroom is still with them?
Ježíš odpověděl: „Je přirozené, aby se svatebčané postili, když je ženich s nimi?
35 "But there is coming a day when the Bridegroom will have been taken away from them; then at that time they will fast."
Však přijde chvíle, kdy ženicha odvedou, a pak bude vhodný čas k půstu.“
36 He also told them a parable. "No one," he said, "tears a piece from a new garment, and patches it upon an old one; otherwise he will tear the new garment, and the patch from the new will not mend the old.
Ještě přidal další přirovnání: „Nikdo si přece nevystřihne kus látky z nových šatů, aby si jím vyspravil starý oděv. Zničil by si tak šaty nové a na starých šatech by se záplata srazila a díra by byla ještě větší.
37 "Nor does any one pour new wine into old wine-skins; otherwise the new wine will burst the skins, and will itself be spilled, and the skins be destroyed
Nikdo také nebude nalévat víno do starých kožených měchů, protože kvasící víno by staré měchy roztrhalo, a tak by obojí přišlo nazmar.
38 "But new wine must be put into fresh wine-skins
Proto mladé víno patří do nových měchů.
39 "And no man after drinking old wine, wishes for new; for he says, "The old is better.""
Vás ovšem znepokojuje moje poselství. Jako mladé víno nesnesou staré měchy, ani ono se nevtěsná do vašich starých tradic a zvyklostí. Jste jako pijáci, kteří si libují ve starém uleželém vínu.“
