Luke 16
1 To his disciples he said. "There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and this steward was accused to him of wasting his property.
१येशूने त्याच्या शिष्यांना एक दाखला सांगितला, “कोणीएक श्रीमंत मनुष्य असून, त्याचा एक कारभारी होता. हा कारभारी तुमचे पैसे उधळतो, अशी तक्रार त्या श्रीमंत मनुष्याकडे करण्यात आली.
2 "He called to him to him and said. "‘What is this that I hear about you? Render an account of your stewardship; for you can no longer be steward.’
२म्हणून त्या श्रीमंत मनुष्याने कारभाऱ्याला आत बोलावून म्हटले, तुझ्याविषयी मी हे काय ऐकत आहे? तर आता तुझ्या कारभाराचा हिशोब दे, कारण यापुढे तुला कारभार पाहावयचा नाही.
3 "Now the steward said to himself. ‘What shall I do, now that my master is taking away my stewardship? I am not strong enough to dig, to beg I am ashamed.
३तेव्हा कारभारी स्वतःशी म्हणाला, माझे मालक माझे कारभाऱ्याचे काम काढून घेत आहेत तर मी आता काय करू? शेतात कष्ट करण्याएवढे बळ माझ्या अंगात नाही व भीक मागण्याची मला लाज वाटते.
4 "‘I know what I will do, so that when I am put out of my stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.’
४मला कारभाऱ्याच्या कामावरून ते काढून टाकतील तरीही लोकांनी मला त्यांच्या घरात घ्यावे यासाठी मी काय करावे हे मला माहिती आहे.
5 "So he called to him each of his master’s debtors and said to the first, ‘How much money do you owe my master?’
५मग कारभाऱ्याने त्याच्या मालकाच्या प्रत्येक कर्जदाराला बोलावले. पहिल्याला तो म्हणाला, तू माझ्या मालकाकडून किती कर्ज घेतले आहे जे तुला फेडायचे आहे.
6 "‘A hundred measures of oil,’ he answered. "He said to him, ‘Take your bill and sit down quickly and write fifty."
६तो म्हणाला, तीन हजार लिटर तेल. त्याने त्यास म्हटले, ही तुझी हिशोबाची वही घे आणि लवकर बसून यावर दीड हजार मांड
7 "To a second he said, ‘How much do you owe?’ "The man answered, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ "‘Here is you bill,’ he said, ‘change it to eighty measures.’
७नंतर दुसऱ्याला म्हटले, तुला किती देणे आहे? तो म्हणाला, वीस हजार किलो गहू तो त्यास म्हणाला, ही तुझी हिशोबाची वही घे व सोळा हजार मांड.
8 "And the master praised the unjust steward because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this world are in relation to their own generation wiser than the sons of the light. (aiōn g165)
८अन्यायी कारभाऱ्याने शहाणपण केले. यावरुन धन्याने त्याची वाहवा केली; कारण या युगाचे लोक आपल्यासारख्यांविषयी प्रकाशाच्या लोकांपेक्षा शहाणे असतात. (aiōn g165)
9 "And to you I say, Use mammon, dishonest as it is, to make yourselves friends, so that when it shall fail they will welcome you to the eternal tabernacles. (aiōnios g166)
९मी तुम्हास सांगतो, तुमच्यासाठी, तुमच्या अनीतीच्या धनाने मित्र मिळवा. यासाठी की, जेव्हा हे धन संपेल तेव्हा त्यांनी तुम्हास सार्वकालिक वस्तीत घ्यावे (aiōnios g166)
10 "The man who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much, and he who is unjust in a very little, is unjust also as much.
१०एखाद्यावर थोडासा विश्वास टाकणे शक्य असेल तर त्याच्यावर जास्त विश्वास टाकणे शक्य आहे व जो कोणी थोड्या गोष्टींविषयी अन्यायी आहे तो जास्त गोष्टींविषयी अन्यायी राहील.
11 "If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will trust to you the true riches?
११म्हणून जर तुम्ही अनीतिकारक धनाविषयी विश्वासू नाही, तर मग खऱ्या धनाविषयी तुमच्यावर कोण विश्वास ठेवील?
12 "And if you are not faithful with what belongs to another, who will give you what is your own?
१२जे दुसऱ्याचे आहे त्याविषयी तुम्ही विश्वासू नसाल तर जे तुमचे आहे ते तुम्हास कोण देईल?
13 "No one can be a household servants to two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will cling to the one and despise the other. You cannot be the slave of God and of Mammon."
१३कोणत्याही नोकराला दोन मालकांची सेवा करता येत नाही. एकाचा तो राग करील व दुसऱ्यावर तो प्रीती करील किंवा एकाला तो धरून राहील व दुसऱ्याला तुच्छ मानील. तुम्ही एकाच वेळी देवाची व पैशाची सेवा करू शकत नाही.”
14 Now the Pharisees who loved money listened to all this and they jeered at him.
१४मग ते परूशी धनाचे लोभी होते त्यांनी हे सर्व ऐकले व त्यांनी येशूचा तिरस्कार केला.
15 He said to them. "You are those that justify themselves in the eyes of men; but God knows you hearts; for that which is lofty in the eyes of men is abomination in the eyes of God.
१५येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्ही स्वतःला लोकांसमोर नीतिमान म्हणून मिरवता, पण देव तुमची अंतःकरणे ओळखतो. जे लोकांस त्यांच्या दृष्टीत महान वाटते ते देवाच्या नजरेमध्ये अमंगळ आहे.
16 "The Law and the Prophet lasted until John; since then the gospel of the kingdom of God is preached, and any one presses in.
१६योहानापर्यंत नियमशास्त्र व संदेष्टे हे होते आणि तेव्हापासून देवाच्या राज्याची सुवार्ता गाजवली जात आहे व प्रत्येकजण त्यामध्ये शिरण्याचा जोराने प्रयत्न करीत आहे.
17 "Yet it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away then for one title of the law to fail.
१७नियमशास्त्राचा एकही काना किंवा मात्रा नाहीसा होण्यापेक्षा आकाश व पृथ्वीचे नाहीसे होणे सोपे आहे.
18 "Every man who divorces his wife and marries some one else, commits adultery; and he who marries one who is put away by her husband commits adultery.
१८जो कोणी आपल्या पत्नीला सोडून देतो व दुसरीबरोबर लग्न करतो तो व्यभिचार करतो आणि जो कोणी, पतीने सोडून दिलेल्या स्त्री सोबत लग्न करतो तो व्यभिचार करतो.
19 "Now there was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen, and made merry every day in splendor.
१९कोणीएक श्रीमंत मनुष्य होता तो जांभळे आणि महागडे खादीचे कपडे घालीत असे. प्रत्येक दिवस तो ऐशोआरामात घालवीत असे.
20 "And a certain beggar named Lazarus was thrown at his door.
२०त्याच्या फाटकाजवळ लाजर नावाचा एक गरीब मनुष्य पडून होता आणि त्याच्या अंगावर फोड आलेले होते.
21 "He was full of sores, and longingly desired to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Yes! even the dogs came and licked his sores.
२१त्या श्रीमंत मनुष्याच्या जेवणाच्या टेबलावरून जे काही खाली पडेल ते तरी आपल्याला खायला मिळेल अशी तो अपेक्षा करत असे याशिवाय कुत्री येऊन त्याचे फोड चाटीत असत.
22 "But in the course of time the beggar died; and he was carried by angels into Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried.
२२मग असे झाले की, तो गरीब मनुष्य मरण पावला व देवदूतांनी त्यास अब्राहामाच्या ऊराशी नेऊन ठेवले. नंतर श्रीमंत मनुष्यही मरण पावला व त्यास पुरले गेले.
23 "And as he was tormented in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. (Hadēs g86)
२३श्रीमंत मनुष्य मृतलोकात यातना भोगीत होता, तेथून त्याने वर पाहीले व दूरवर असलेल्या अब्राहामाला आणि लाजराला त्याच्या बाजूला पाहिले, (Hadēs g86)
24 "And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham have mercy on me; and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’
२४तो ओरडून म्हणाला, हे पित्या अब्राहामा, माझ्यावर दया कर आणि लाजराला पाठव यासाठी की तो बोटाचे टोक पाण्यात बुडवून माझी जीभ थंड करील, कारण या आगीमध्ये मी भयंकर दुखः सहन करीत आहे.
25 "‘Remember my son.’ said Abraham, ‘that you had in your lifetime all your good things, and in the same way Lazarus his evil things; but now here he is comforted, and you are in anguish.
२५परंतु अब्राहाम म्हणाला, माझ्या मुला, ध्यानात घे की तुझ्या जीवनात जशा तुला चांगल्या गोष्टी मिळाल्या, तशा लाजराला वाईट गोष्टी मिळाल्या. पण आता त्यास आराम मिळत आहे व तू दुःखात आहेस.
26 "But besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who want to cross from here to you cannot, nor can those who would cross from you to us.’
२६आणि या सगळ्याशिवाय, तुमच्या व आमच्यामध्ये एक मोठी दरी ठेवलेली आहे, यासाठी की, येथून तुमच्याकडे कोणाला जाता येणार नाही व तुमच्याकडून कोणालाही आमच्याकडे येता येणार नाही.
27 "‘I beg you then, father,’ he said, ‘send him to my fathers house. For I have five brothers.
२७तो श्रीमंत मनुष्य म्हणाला, मग तुला मी विनंती करतो की, पित्या, लाजराला माझ्या वडिलांच्या घरी पाठव,
28 "‘Let him earnestly warn them, lest they too come to this place of torment.’
२८लाजराला माझ्या पाच भावांकडे जाऊन त्यांना सावध करू दे म्हणजे ते तरी या दुःखाच्या ठिकाणी येणार नाहीत.
29 "But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets, let them listen to them.’
२९पण अब्राहाम म्हणाला, तुझ्या भावांजवळ मोशे आणि संदेष्टये आहेत त्यांचे त्यांनी ऐकावे.
30 "‘Nay, Father Abraham,’ he said ‘but if some one went to them from the dead they would repent.’
३०तो श्रीमंत मनुष्य म्हणाला, नाही, हे पित्या अब्राहामा, मरण पावलेल्यामधून कोणी माझ्या भावांकडे गेला तर ते पश्चात्ताप करतील.
31 "‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets,’ said Father Abraham, ‘neither will they be persuaded if one should rise from the dead.’"
३१अब्राहाम त्यास म्हणाला, जर ते मोशेचे आणि संदेष्टयांचे ऐकत नाहीत तर मरण पावलेल्यातून जर कोणी उठला तरी त्यांची खात्री होणार नाही.”
