Hebrews 6
1 So let us get beyond the teaching of the elementary doctrines of Christ, and let us be borne along toward what is mature. Let us not be continually laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, faith in God,
Darum wollen wir (jetzt) von den Anfangsgründen der Lehre Christi absehen und uns zur vollen Reife erheben, wollen nicht noch einmal den Grund legen mit Sinnesänderung, die sich von toten Werken abkehrt, und mit dem Glauben an Gott,
2 of the teaching regarding ablutions and the laying on of hands, of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (aiōnios g166)
mit der Belehrung über Waschungen und Handauflegung, über Totenauferstehung und ewiges Gericht. (aiōnios g166)
3 And this we will do, if God permit.
Ja, dies wollen wir tun, wenn anders Gott es gelingen läßt.
4 For in the case of those who have been once for all enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
Denn es ist unmöglich, solche, die einmal die Erleuchtung empfangen und die himmlische Gabe geschmeckt haben und des heiligen Geistes teilhaftig geworden sind
und das köstliche Gotteswort und die Kräfte der zukünftigen Welt gekostet haben (aiōn g165)
6 and then fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance. For they repeatedly crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and expose him to an open shame.
und dann doch abgefallen sind, noch einmal zur Sinnesänderung zu erneuern, weil sie für ihre Person den Sohn Gottes von neuem kreuzigen und ihn der Beschimpfung preisgeben.
7 For land that has drunk the showers that now and again fall upon it, and produced vegetation useful for those for whom it was tilled, receives a blessing from God;
Denn wenn ein Acker den oftmals auf ihn fallenden Regen in sich eingesogen hat und denen, für die er bestellt wird, nützlichen Ertrag hervorbringt, so macht er sich den von Gott kommenden Segen zu eigen;
8 but if it produces thorns and thistles, it is considered worthless, and is in danger of being cursed, and its end will be to be burned.
bringt er dagegen Dornen und Disteln hervor, so ist er unbrauchbar und geht dem Fluch entgegen, dessen Ende zum Feuerbrand führt.
9 But though we thus speak, we are persuaded better things of you, beloved, and things that accompany salvation.
Wir sind aber in bezug auf euch, Geliebte, wenn wir auch so reden, doch eines Besseren gewiß, nämlich dessen, was in engster Beziehung zur Errettung steht.
10 For God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you showed for his cause, in sending help to your fellow Christians, as you are still doing.
Denn Gott ist nicht ungerecht, daß er eure Arbeit und die Liebe vergäße, die ihr für seinen Namen dadurch an den Tag gelegt habt, daß ihr den Heiligen Dienste geleistet habt und auch jetzt noch leistet.
11 but I am longing that each of you continue to show the same diligence to realize the fulness of your hope, even to the end.
Wir wünschen aber innig, daß jeder einzelne von euch den gleichen Eifer an den Tag legen möge, um die Hoffnung bis ans Ende mit voller Gewißheit festzuhalten,
12 Then do not become slack, but be imitators of those who through faith and patience are inheriting the promises.
damit ihr nicht stumpf werdet, sondern dem Vorbild derer nachfolgt, die durch Glauben und standhaftes Ausharren die verheißenen Heilsgüter erben.
13 For when God make the promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he swore by himself, saying.
Nachdem Gott nämlich dem Abraham die Verheißung gegeben hatte, schwur er, weil er bei keinem Höheren schwören konnte, bei sich selbst
14 Surely I will bless you, and bless you; I will increase you, and increase you.
mit den Worten: »Fürwahr, ich will dich reichlich segnen und dich überaus zahlreich machen!«,
15 And so by patiently waiting, Abraham obtained the promise.
und auf diese Weise harrte jener geduldig aus und erlangte das Verheißene.
16 I am referring to the oath because men swear by what is greater than themselves, and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation.
Menschen schwören bekanntlich bei dem Höheren, und der Eid dient ihnen zur Bekräftigung, so daß alle Widerrede ausgeschlossen ist.
17 On which principle God, wishing to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his purpose, mediated with an oath;
Aus diesem Grunde ist auch Gott, weil er den Erben seiner Verheißung das Unabänderliche seines Ratschlusses in besonderem Grade deutlich dartun wollte, als Bürge mit einem Eid eingetreten,
18 that by means of two immutable things - his promise and his oath - in which it is impossible for God to break faith, we refugees may have strong encouragement to grasp the hope set before us.
damit wir durch zwei unabänderliche Tatsachen, bei denen Gott unmöglich getäuscht haben kann, eine starke Ermutigung besäßen, wir, die wir unsere Zuflucht dazu genommen haben, die uns eröffnete Hoffnung zu ergreifen.
19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, secure and strong, and passing into the sanctuary which is beyond the veil;
In dieser besitzen wir ja gleichsam einen festen und zuverlässigen Anker für unsere Seele, der bis hinter den Vorhang (in das himmlische Heiligtum) hineinreicht,
