Galatians 4
1 What I mean is this. As long as the heir is a child, he differs in no respect from a slave, though he be the owner of the whole inheritance;
நான் சொல்வது என்னவென்றால், உரிமையாளனாய் இருக்கும் ஒருவன், முழுச் சொத்துக்கும் உரிமையாளனாய் இருந்தாலும், அவன் சிறுபிள்ளையாய் இருக்கும்வரை, ஒரு அடிமைக்கும் அவனுக்கும் வித்தியாசம் இருக்கும்.
2 but is under the control of guardians and trustees, until the time appointed by his father.
அவனுடைய தகப்பன் நியமித்த காலம் வரும்வரைக்கும் அவன் பாதுகாவலர்கள், நிர்வாகிகள் ஆகியோருக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டே இருக்கிறான்.
3 So we Jews also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the empty externalities of the world.
இவ்விதமாய் நாமும் பிள்ளைகளாய் இருந்தபோது, உலகத்தின் அடிப்படை போதனைகளுக்கு அடிமைகளாய் இருந்தோம்.
4 But when the fulness of time was come God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under law,
ஆனால் காலம் நிறைவேறியபொழுது, இறைவன் தம்முடைய மகனை மோசேயின் சட்டத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவராய், ஒரு பெண்ணிடத்தில் பிறந்தவராய் அனுப்பினார்.
5 to redeem from captivity those under law, in order that we might receive our sonship.
இறைவன் மோசேயின் சட்டத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிருந்தவர்களை மீட்டு, நாம் பிள்ளைகளுக்குரிய முழு உரிமைகளையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படியே கிறிஸ்து அனுப்பப்பட்டார்.
6 And because you are sons, God sent forth the spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, "Dear, dear Father!"
நீங்கள் அவருடைய பிள்ளைகளாய் இருப்பதனால், “அப்பா, பிதாவே!” என்று கூப்பிடத்தக்க இறைவன் தமது மகனுடைய ஆவியை, உங்களுடைய இருதயங்களுக்குள் அனுப்பியிருக்கிறார்.
7 So each one of you is no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir, too, through God’s grace.
ஆகவே இனியும் நீங்கள் அடிமைகள் அல்ல, மகன்களாய் இருக்கிறீர்கள்; நீங்கள் மகன்களாய் இருப்பதனால், இறைவன் உங்களை உரிமையாளர்களாயும் ஆக்கியிருக்கிறார்.
8 But once, when you Gentiles had no knowledge of God, you were slaves to gods which have no real being.
முன்பு நீங்கள் இறைவனை அறியாதிருந்தபோது, இயல்பாகவே இறைவன் இல்லாதவைகளுக்கு அடிமைகளாயிருந்தீர்கள்.
9 Now, however, when you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you are beginning to turn back to those weak and beggarly externalities, eager to be in bondage to them again?
ஆனால் இப்பொழுதோ, நீங்கள் இறைவனை அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள். அதைவிட, இறைவனால் நீங்கள் அறியப்பட்டும் இருக்கிறீர்கள். இப்படியிருக்க, உலகத்தின் அடிப்படை போதனைகளுக்கும் பலவீனமும் கேவலமுமானவற்றிற்குத் திரும்புகிறீர்களே! அது ஏன்? அவைகளுக்கு மீண்டும் அடிமைகளாக விரும்புகிறீர்களா?
10 You are scrupulous, are you, in observing "days" and "months" and "seasons" and "years"?
நீங்கள் விசேஷ நாட்களையும், மாதங்களையும், பருவகாலங்களையும், வருடங்களையும் கைக்கொண்டு நடக்கிறீர்களே.
11 I am alarmed about you for fear lest I may have bestowed labor on you to no purpose.
நான் உங்களுக்காகப் பட்ட பாடுகள் எல்லாம் வீணாகப் போய்விட்டதோ என்று பயப்படுகிறேன்.
12 Brothers, I beseech you, become as I am, because I also have become as you are. You never did me any wrong;
பிரியமானவர்களே, என்னைப்போலாகுங்கள் என்று உங்களைக் கேட்கிறேன், ஏனெனில் நானும் உங்களைப்போல் ஆனேன். நீங்கள் எனக்கு எவ்விதத் தீமையும் செய்யவில்லை.
13 on the contrary, you know that although it was illness which brought about my preaching the gospel to you at my first visit,
நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறபடி என் வியாதியின் காரணமாகவே, முதலில் நான் உங்களுக்கு நற்செய்தியை பிரசங்கித்தேன்.
14 and although my bodily affliction was a trial to you, you did not scoff at it nor spurn me, but welcomed me like an angel of God, like Christ Jesus himself.
என்னுடைய வியாதி உங்களுக்குப் பல பாடுகளை உண்டாக்கிய போதுங்கூட, நீங்கள் என்னை வெறுப்புடன் நடத்தவும் இல்லை, என்னைப் புறக்கணிக்கவும் இல்லை. ஆனால் என்னை இறைவனின் தூதனைப்போல் வரவேற்றீர்கள். கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவை வரவேற்பதுபோல் வரவேற்றீர்கள் என்றுங்கூடச் சொல்வேன்.
15 Why then did you account yourselves so happy? (For I bear you witness that if you could you would have torn out your own eyes and given them to me.)
அப்போது இருந்த அந்த ஆசீர்வாதம், இப்போது எங்கே போயிற்று? இயலுமானால், உங்கள் கண்களைக்கூட பிடுங்கி எனக்குக் கொடுத்திருப்பீர்கள் என்று நானே சாட்சி கூறுவேன்.
16 Am I then become your enemy, because I am telling you the truth?
சத்தியத்தை உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னதினாலே, நான் இப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குப் பகைவன் ஆனேனா?
17 These men are courting your favor to no good purpose. They want to isolate you, so that you will be courting their favor.
இப்பொழுது சிலர் உங்களைத் தங்கள் பக்கமாக இழுத்துக்கொள்ள ஆர்வம் காட்டுகிறார்களே, ஆனால் அவர்களுடைய நோக்கங்களோ நல்லவை அல்ல. அவர்கள் எங்களிடமிருந்து உங்களைப் பிரித்து, நீங்களும் அவர்கள் சார்பாய் இருப்பதையே விரும்புகிறார்கள்.
18 It is always an honorable thing to have your favor sought in an honorable cause, always, and not only when I am with you.
நோக்கம் நல்லதென்றால், அதில் தீவிர ஆர்வம் காண்பிப்பது நல்லதுதான். அவ்வித ஆர்வத்தை உங்களுடன் நான் இருக்கும்போது மாத்திரமல்ல, எப்பொழுதுமே காண்பிக்கவேண்டும்.
19 O my little children, of whom I travail again in birth until Christ be formed within you!
என் பிள்ளைகளே, கிறிஸ்து உங்களில் உருவாகும் வரைக்கும் உங்களுக்காக நான் வேதனைப்படுகிறேன்.
20 How I wish I could be with you now, that I might change my tone; for I am perplexed about you.
இப்பொழுது உங்களுடனே நான் இருக்கவும், உங்களுடன் வேறுவிதமாய்ப் பேசவும் எவ்வளவாய் விரும்புகிறேன். ஏனெனில், உங்களைக்குறித்து நான் மிகவும் கலக்கம் அடைந்திருக்கிறேன்.
21 Tell me, you who wish to be subject to the Law, why do you not listen to the Law?
மோசேயின் சட்டத்திற்கு கீழ்ப்பட்டிருக்க விரும்புகிறவர்களே, மோசேயின் சட்டம் சொல்வதை நீங்கள் அறியாதிருக்கிறீர்களா? அதை எனக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள்.
22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and one by the free woman;
ஆபிரகாமுக்கு இரண்டு மகன்கள் இருந்தார்கள் என்றும், ஒருவன் அடிமைப் பெண்ணிடத்தில் பிறந்தான் என்றும், மற்றவன் சுதந்திரமுள்ள பெண்ணிடத்தில் பிறந்தான் என்றும் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறதே.
23 but while the son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, the son by the free woman was born in fulfilment of a promise.
அடிமைப் பெண்ணிடத்தில் பிறந்த அவனுடைய மகன், சாதாரண முறையிலேயே பிறந்தான்; சுதந்திரமான பெண்ணிடத்தில் பிறந்த அவனுடைய மகனோ, இறைவனுடைய வாக்குத்தத்தத்தின் பிரதிபலனின்படி பிறந்தான்.
24 Now all this is an allegory, for these women are the two covenants; one from Mount Sinai, which is Hagar bearing children into bondage
இதை ஒரு அடையாளப்பூர்வமாக எடுத்துக்கொள்ளலாம். இந்த இரண்டு பெண்களும், இரண்டு உடன்படிக்கைகளுக்கும் எடுத்துக்காட்டாய் இருக்கிறார்கள். ஒரு உடன்படிக்கை சீனாய் மலையைச் சேர்ந்தது. அது அடிமைகளாகப் போகும் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெறுகிறது. இது ஆகாருக்கு ஒப்பாய் இருக்கிறது.
25 (for the word Hagar stands for Mt. Sinai in Arabia and represents the present Jerusalem who with her children is in bondage.)
அரேபியாவிலுள்ள சீனாய் மலைக்கு ஆகார் அடையாளமாய் இருக்கிறாள். அவள் இப்பொழுது இருக்கும் எருசலேம் நகருக்கும் ஒப்பாய் இருக்கிறாள். ஏனெனில் எருசலேமும், அதன் பிள்ளைகளுடன் அடிமையாய் இருக்கிறதே.
26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
ஆனால் மேலே பரலோகத்திலுள்ள எருசலேமோ சுதந்தரமானவள். அவளே நம்முடைய தாய்.
27 For it is written, Rejoice, O thou barren one who dost never bear, Break forth in joy, thou that dost not travail; For the children of the desolate woman are many. Yea, more than hers who has a husband.
ஏனெனில், “பிள்ளை பிள்ளைபெறாத மலடியே, சந்தோஷப்படு; பிரசவ வேதனைப்படாதவளே, மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் சத்தமிடு; ஏனெனில் கைவிடப்பட்டவளின் பிள்ளைகள் கணவனுடன் வாழ்கிறவளுடைய பிள்ளைகளைவிட அதிகமாயிருப்பார்கள்” என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே.
28 But you, brothers, are like Isaac, children of the promise;
பிரியமானவர்களே, நீங்களோ ஈசாக்கைப் போல் வாக்குத்தத்தத்தின் பிள்ளைகளாய் இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
29 but just as in old times the son born by the flesh used to persecute the son born by the power of the Spirit, so also it is now.
அக்காலத்தில் சாதாரண முறையில் பிறந்த மகன், பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவருடைய வல்லமையின் மூலமாய் பிறந்த மகனைத் துன்புறுத்தினான். அவ்விதமாகவே, இப்பொழுதும் நடைபெறுகிறது.
30 But what does the Scripture say? Send away the slave-woman and her son; for the slave’s son shall not be heir along with the son of the free woman.
ஆனால் வேதவசனம் என்ன சொல்கிறது? “அடிமைப் பெண்ணையும், அவள் மகனையும் வெளியே அனுப்பிவிடும்; ஏனெனில், அடிமைப்பெண்ணின் மகன் சுதந்திரமான பெண்ணின் மகனுடனே, சொத்துரிமையை ஒருபோதும் பகிர்ந்துகொள்ளக் கூடாது.”
31 So, brothers, we are the children of no slave woman, but of free woman. For freedom did not Christ set us free;
ஆகவே பிரியமானவர்களே, நாம் மோசேயின் சட்டத்தில் கட்டுப்பட்ட அடிமைப்பெண்ணின் பிள்ளைகள் அல்ல, சுதந்திரமான பெண்ணின் விசுவாசத்தினால் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட பிள்ளைகள்.
