Galatians 4
1 What I mean is this. As long as the heir is a child, he differs in no respect from a slave, though he be the owner of the whole inheritance;
அஹம்’ வதா³மி ஸம்பத³தி⁴காரீ யாவத்³ பா³லஸ்திஷ்ட²தி தாவத் ஸர்வ்வஸ்வஸ்யாதி⁴பதி: ஸந்நபி ஸ தா³ஸாத் கேநாபி விஷயேண ந விஸி²ஷ்யதே
2 but is under the control of guardians and trustees, until the time appointed by his father.
கிந்து பித்ரா நிரூபிதம்’ ஸமயம்’ யாவத் பாலகாநாம்’ த⁴நாத்⁴யக்ஷாணாஞ்ச நிக்⁴நஸ்திஷ்ட²தி|
3 So we Jews also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the empty externalities of the world.
தத்³வத்³ வயமபி பா³ல்யகாலே தா³ஸா இவ ஸம்’ஸாரஸ்யாக்ஷரமாலாயா அதீ⁴நா ஆஸ்மஹே|
4 But when the fulness of time was come God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under law,
அநந்தரம்’ ஸமயே ஸம்பூர்ணதாம்’ க³தவதி வ்யவஸ்தா²தீ⁴நாநாம்’ மோசநார்த²ம்
5 to redeem from captivity those under law, in order that we might receive our sonship.
அஸ்மாகம்’ புத்ரத்வப்ராப்த்யர்த²ஞ்சேஸ்²வர: ஸ்த்ரியா ஜாதம்’ வ்யவஸ்தா²யா அதி⁴நீபூ⁴தஞ்ச ஸ்வபுத்ரம்’ ப்ரேஷிதவாந்|
6 And because you are sons, God sent forth the spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, "Dear, dear Father!"
யூயம்’ ஸந்தாநா அப⁴வத தத்காரணாத்³ ஈஸ்²வர: ஸ்வபுத்ரஸ்யாத்மாநாம்’ யுஷ்மாகம் அந்த: கரணாநி ப்ரஹிதவாந் ஸ சாத்மா பித: பிதரித்யாஹ்வாநம்’ காரயதி|
7 So each one of you is no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir, too, through God’s grace.
அத இதா³நீம்’ யூயம்’ ந தா³ஸா: கிந்து: ஸந்தாநா ஏவ தஸ்மாத் ஸந்தாநத்வாச்ச க்²ரீஷ்டேநேஸ்²வரீயஸம்பத³தி⁴காரிணோ(அ)ப்யாத்⁴வே|
8 But once, when you Gentiles had no knowledge of God, you were slaves to gods which have no real being.
அபரஞ்ச பூர்வ்வம்’ யூயம் ஈஸ்²வரம்’ ந ஜ்ஞாத்வா யே ஸ்வபா⁴வதோ(அ)நீஸ்²வராஸ்தேஷாம்’ தா³ஸத்வே(அ)திஷ்ட²த|
9 Now, however, when you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you are beginning to turn back to those weak and beggarly externalities, eager to be in bondage to them again?
இதா³நீம் ஈஸ்²வரம்’ ஜ்ஞாத்வா யதி³ வேஸ்²வரேண ஜ்ஞாதா யூயம்’ கத²ம்’ புநஸ்தாநி விப²லாநி துச்சா²நி சாக்ஷராணி ப்ரதி பராவர்த்திதும்’ ஸ²க்நுத²? யூயம்’ கிம்’ புநஸ்தேஷாம்’ தா³ஸா ப⁴விதுமிச்ச²த²?
10 You are scrupulous, are you, in observing "days" and "months" and "seasons" and "years"?
யூயம்’ தி³வஸாந் மாஸாந் திதீ²ந் ஸம்’வத்ஸராம்’ஸ்²ச ஸம்மந்யத்⁴வே|
11 I am alarmed about you for fear lest I may have bestowed labor on you to no purpose.
யுஷ்மத³ர்த²ம்’ மயா ய: பரிஸ்²ரமோ(அ)காரி ஸ விப²லோ ஜாத இதி யுஷ்மாநத்⁴யஹம்’ பி³பே⁴மி|
12 Brothers, I beseech you, become as I am, because I also have become as you are. You never did me any wrong;
ஹே ப்⁴ராதர: , அஹம்’ யாத்³ரு’ஸோ²(அ)ஸ்மி யூயமபி தாத்³ரு’ஸா² ப⁴வதேதி ப்ரார்த²யே யதோ(அ)ஹமபி யுஷ்மத்துல்யோ(அ)ப⁴வம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்மம கிமபி நாபராத்³த⁴ம்’|
13 on the contrary, you know that although it was illness which brought about my preaching the gospel to you at my first visit,
பூர்வ்வமஹம்’ கலேவரஸ்ய தௌ³ர்ப்³ப³ல்யேந யுஷ்மாந் ஸுஸம்’வாத³ம் அஜ்ஞாபயமிதி யூயம்’ ஜாநீத²|
14 and although my bodily affliction was a trial to you, you did not scoff at it nor spurn me, but welcomed me like an angel of God, like Christ Jesus himself.
ததா³நீம்’ மம பரீக்ஷகம்’ ஸா²ரீரக்லேஸ²ம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா யூயம்’ மாம் அவஜ்ஞாய ரு’தீயிதவந்தஸ்தந்நஹி கிந்த்வீஸ்²வரஸ்ய தூ³தமிவ ஸாக்ஷாத் க்²ரீஷ்ட யீஸு²மிவ வா மாம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீதவந்த: |
15 Why then did you account yourselves so happy? (For I bear you witness that if you could you would have torn out your own eyes and given them to me.)
அதஸ்ததா³நீம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ யா த⁴ந்யதாப⁴வத் ஸா க்க க³தா? ததா³நீம்’ யூயம்’ யதி³ ஸ்வேஷாம்’ நயநாந்யுத்பாட்ய மஹ்யம்’ தா³தும் அஸ²க்ஷ்யத தர்ஹி தத³ப்யகரிஷ்யதேதி ப்ரமாணம் அஹம்’ த³தா³மி|
16 Am I then become your enemy, because I am telling you the truth?
ஸாம்ப்ரதமஹம்’ ஸத்யவாதி³த்வாத் கிம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ரிபு ர்ஜாதோ(அ)ஸ்மி?
17 These men are courting your favor to no good purpose. They want to isolate you, so that you will be courting their favor.
தே யுஷ்மத்க்ரு’தே ஸ்பர்த்³த⁴ந்தே கிந்து ஸா ஸ்பர்த்³தா⁴ குத்ஸிதா யதோ யூயம்’ தாநதி⁴ யத் ஸ்பர்த்³த⁴த்⁴வம்’ தத³ர்த²ம்’ தே யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரு’த²க் கர்த்தும் இச்ச²ந்தி|
18 It is always an honorable thing to have your favor sought in an honorable cause, always, and not only when I am with you.
கேவலம்’ யுஷ்மத்ஸமீபே மமோபஸ்தி²திஸமயே தந்நஹி, கிந்து ஸர்வ்வதை³வ ப⁴த்³ரமதி⁴ ஸ்பர்த்³த⁴நம்’ ப⁴த்³ரம்’|
19 O my little children, of whom I travail again in birth until Christ be formed within you!
ஹே மம பா³லகா: , யுஷ்மத³ந்த ர்யாவத் க்²ரீஷ்டோ மூர்திமாந் ந ப⁴வதி தாவத்³ யுஷ்மத்காரணாத் புந: ப்ரஸவவேத³நேவ மம வேத³நா ஜாயதே|
20 How I wish I could be with you now, that I might change my tone; for I am perplexed about you.
அஹமிதா³நீம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸந்நிதி⁴ம்’ க³த்வா ஸ்வராந்தரேண யுஷ்மாந் ஸம்பா⁴ஷிதும்’ காமயே யதோ யுஷ்மாநதி⁴ வ்யாகுலோ(அ)ஸ்மி|
21 Tell me, you who wish to be subject to the Law, why do you not listen to the Law?
ஹே வ்யவஸ்தா²தீ⁴நதாகாங்க்ஷிண: யூயம்’ கிம்’ வ்யவஸ்தா²யா வசநம்’ ந க்³ரு’ஹ்லீத²?
22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and one by the free woman;
தந்மாம்’ வத³த| லிகி²தமாஸ்தே, இப்³ராஹீமோ த்³வௌ புத்ராவாஸாதே தயோரேகோ தா³ஸ்யாம்’ த்³விதீயஸ்²ச பத்ந்யாம்’ ஜாத: |
23 but while the son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, the son by the free woman was born in fulfilment of a promise.
தயோ ர்யோ தா³ஸ்யாம்’ ஜாத: ஸ ஸா²ரீரிகநியமேந ஜஜ்ஞே யஸ்²ச பத்ந்யாம்’ ஜாத: ஸ ப்ரதிஜ்ஞயா ஜஜ்ஞே|
24 Now all this is an allegory, for these women are the two covenants; one from Mount Sinai, which is Hagar bearing children into bondage
இத³மாக்²யாநம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டந்தஸ்வரூபம்’| தே த்³வே யோஷிதாவீஸ்²வரீயஸந்தீ⁴ தயோரேகா ஸீநயபர்வ்வதாத்³ உத்பந்நா தா³ஸஜநயித்ரீ ச ஸா து ஹாஜிரா|
25 (for the word Hagar stands for Mt. Sinai in Arabia and represents the present Jerusalem who with her children is in bondage.)
யஸ்மாத்³ ஹாஜிராஸ²ப்³தே³நாரவதே³ஸ²ஸ்த²ஸீநயபர்வ்வதோ போ³த்⁴யதே, ஸா ச வர்த்தமாநாயா யிரூஸா²லம்புர்ய்யா: ஸத்³ரு’ஸீ²| யத: ஸ்வபா³லை: ஸஹிதா ஸா தா³ஸத்வ ஆஸ்தே|
26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
கிந்து ஸ்வர்கீ³யா யிரூஸா²லம்புரீ பத்நீ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம் அஸ்மாகம்’ மாதா சாஸ்தே|
27 For it is written, Rejoice, O thou barren one who dost never bear, Break forth in joy, thou that dost not travail; For the children of the desolate woman are many. Yea, more than hers who has a husband.
யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ லிகி²தம் ஆஸ்தே, "வந்த்⁴யே ஸந்தாநஹீநே த்வம்’ ஸ்வரம்’ ஜயஜயம்’ குரு| அப்ரஸூதே த்வயோல்லாஸோ ஜயாஸ²ப்³த³ஸ்²ச கீ³யதாம்’| யத ஏவ ஸநாதா²யா யோஷித: ஸந்ததே ர்க³ணாத்| அநாதா² யா ப⁴வேந்நாரீ தத³பத்யாநி பூ⁴ரிஸ²: || "
28 But you, brothers, are like Isaac, children of the promise;
ஹே ப்⁴ராத்ரு’க³ண, இம்ஹாக் இவ வயம்’ ப்ரதிஜ்ஞயா ஜாதா: ஸந்தாநா: |
29 but just as in old times the son born by the flesh used to persecute the son born by the power of the Spirit, so also it is now.
கிந்து ததா³நீம்’ ஸா²ரீரிகநியமேந ஜாத: புத்ரோ யத்³வத்³ ஆத்மிகநியமேந ஜாதம்’ புத்ரம் உபாத்³ரவத் ததா²து⁴நாபி|
30 But what does the Scripture say? Send away the slave-woman and her son; for the slave’s son shall not be heir along with the son of the free woman.
கிந்து ஸா²ஸ்த்ரே கிம்’ லிகி²தம்’? "த்வம் இமாம்’ தா³ஸீம்’ தஸ்யா: புத்ரஞ்சாபஸாரய யத ஏஷ தா³ஸீபுத்ர: பத்நீபுத்ரேண ஸமம்’ நோத்தராதி⁴காரீ ப⁴விய்யதீதி| "
31 So, brothers, we are the children of no slave woman, but of free woman. For freedom did not Christ set us free;
அதஏவ ஹே ப்⁴ராதர: , வயம்’ தா³ஸ்யா: ஸந்தாநா ந பூ⁴த்வா பாத்ந்யா: ஸந்தாநா ப⁴வாம: |
