< Ephesians 4 >

1 I summon you then, I the prisoner in the Lord, to live lives worthy of the calling to which you were called.
Nítorí náà, èmi òǹdè nínú Olúwa ń bẹ̀ yín pé kí ẹ̀yin máa gbé ìgbé ayé tí ó yẹ sí ìpè tí a pè yín sí.
2 With all humility and gentleness and long-suffering forbear with one another in love;
Pẹ̀lú ìrẹ̀lẹ̀ gbogbo àti inú tútù, pẹ̀lú ìpamọ́ra, ẹ máa fi ìfẹ́ faradà fún ẹnìkejì yín.
3 and endeavor to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bonds of peace.
Kí ẹ sì máa làkàkà láti pa ìṣọ̀kan Ẹ̀mí mọ́ ni ìdàpọ̀ àlàáfíà.
4 There is one body and one spirit, even as also you were called in one hope of your calling.
Ara kan ni ń bẹ, àti Ẹ̀mí kan, àní bí a ti pè yín sínú ìrètí kan nígbà tí a pè yín.
5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Olúwa kan, ìgbàgbọ́ kan àti ìtẹ̀bọmi kan.
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
Ọlọ́run kan àti Baba gbogbo aráyé, ẹni tí ó ṣe olórí ohun gbogbo àti nípá gbogbo àti nínú ohun gbogbo.
7 And to each one of us was grace given according to the measure of the munificence of Christ.
Ṣùgbọ́n olúkúlùkù wa ni a fi oore-ọ̀fẹ́ fun gẹ́gẹ́ bi òsùwọ̀n ẹ̀bùn Kristi.
8 Thus it is said, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts to men.
Nítorí náà a wí pé: “Nígbà tí ó gòkè lọ sí ibi gíga, ó di ìgbèkùn ni ìgbèkùn, ó sì fi ẹ̀bùn fun ènìyàn.”
9 Now surely this "he ascended" implies that he also descended into the lower part of the earth.
(Ǹjẹ́ ní ti pé, “Ó gòkè lọ!” Kín ni ó túmọ̀ sí, bí kò ṣe pé ó kọ́ sọ̀kalẹ̀ pẹ̀lú lọ sí ìsàlẹ̀ ilẹ̀?
10 He who descended is he who ascended above the highest heaven, that he might fill the universe.
Ẹni tí ó ti sọ̀kalẹ̀, Òun kan náà ni ó sì ti gòkè rékọjá gbogbo àwọn ọ̀run, kí ó lè kún ohun gbogbo.)
11 It is he who made some men apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
Nítorí náà ó sì ti fi àwọn kan fún ni bí aposteli; àti àwọn mìíràn bí i wòlíì; àti àwọn mìíràn bí efangelisti, àti àwọn mìíràn bí olùṣọ́-àgùntàn àti olùkọ́ni.
12 in order to equip the saints for the work of serving, for the building up of the Body of Christ -
Fún àṣepé àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ fun iṣẹ́ ìránṣẹ́, fún ìmúdàgbà ara Kristi.
13 till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to the maturity of manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
Títí gbogbo wa yóò fi dé ìṣọ̀kan ìgbàgbọ́ àti ìmọ̀ Ọmọ Ọlọ́run, títí a ó fi di ọkùnrin, títí a ó fi dé ẹ̀kúnrẹ́rẹ́ ìwọ̀n Kristi.
14 So we shall no longer be children, tossed up and down, and blown about by every wind of teaching, tricked by the craft of men in the snares of misleading error;
Kí àwa má ṣe jẹ́ èwe mọ́, tí a ń fi gbogbo afẹ́fẹ́ ẹ̀kọ́ tì síwá tì sẹ́yìn, tí a sì fi ń gbá kiri, nípa ìtànjẹ ènìyàn, nípa àrékérekè fun ọgbọ́nkọ́gbọ́n àti mú ni ṣìnà.
15 but holding the truth in love we shall grow up in every part into him who is our Head, even Christ.
Ṣùgbọ́n ká a máa sọ òtítọ́ ní ìfẹ́, kí a lè máa dàgbàsókè nínú rẹ̀ ní ohun gbogbo ẹni tí i ṣe orí, àní Kristi.
16 From him the whole body (knit together and compacted by all its joints) makes continual growth of the body so as to build itself up in love, through the energy of his bounteous provision, according to the need of each several part.
Láti ọ̀dọ̀ ẹni ti ara náà tí a ń so ṣọ̀kan pọ̀, tí ó sì ń fi ara mọ́ra, nípasẹ̀ oríkèé kọ̀ọ̀kan tí a ti pèsè, nígbà tí ẹ̀yà kọ̀ọ̀kan bá ń ṣiṣẹ́ dáradára, yóò mú ara dàgbà, yóò sì gbé ara òun tìkára rẹ̀ dìde nínú ìfẹ́.
17 This then I tell you and implore you in the Master’s name, to pass your lives no longer as the Gentiles do in the perverseness of their minds;
Ǹjẹ́ èyí ni mo ń wí, tí mo sì ń jẹ́rìí nínú Olúwa pé, láti ìsinsin yìí lọ, kí ẹ̀yin má ṣe rìn mọ́, àní gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn aláìkọlà ti ń rìn nínú ìrònú asán wọn.
18 having their understanding darkened, alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.
Òye àwọn ẹni tí ó ṣókùnkùn, a sì yà wọ́n nínú ìyè Ọlọ́run nítorí àìmọ̀ tí ń bẹ nínú wọn, nítorí líle ọkàn wọn.
19 These being past feeling have given themselves over to sensuality, in order to practise every form of impurity with greedy zest.
Àwọn ẹni tí ọkàn wọn le rékọjá, tí wọ́n sì ti fi ara wọn fún wọ̀bìà, láti máa fi ìwọra ṣiṣẹ́ ìwà èérí gbogbo.
20 But you have not so learned Christ,
Ṣùgbọ́n a kò fi Kristi kọ́ yín bẹ́ẹ̀.
21 if indeed you have listened to him, and in him been taught the truth as it is in Jesus.
Bí ó bá ṣe pé nítòótọ́ ni ẹ ti gbóhùn rẹ̀ ti a sì ti kọ́ yín nínú rẹ̀, gẹ́gẹ́ bí òtítọ́ ti ń bẹ nínú Jesu.
22 You have learned to lay aside, with your former manner of living, the old self who was on his way to ruin, as he followed the desires which deceive;
Pé, ní tì ìwà yín àtijọ́, kí ẹ̀yin bọ́ ògbólógbòó ọkùnrin nì sílẹ̀, èyí tí ó díbàjẹ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ ẹ̀tàn;
23 and to be made new in the spirit of your mind,
kí ẹ sì di tuntun ni ẹ̀mí inú yín;
24 and to put on the new self, created after God’s likeness, in the uprightness and holiness of the truth.
kí ẹ sì gbé ọkùnrin tuntun ni wọ̀, èyí tí a dá ni àwòrán Ọlọ́run nínú òdodo àti ìwà mímọ́ ti òtítọ́.
25 So then put away falseness and speak every man the truth to his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
Nítorí náà ẹ fi èké ṣíṣe sílẹ̀, ki olúkúlùkù yín kí ó máa ba ọmọnìkejì rẹ̀ sọ òtítọ́, nítorí ẹ̀yà ara ọmọnìkejì wa ni àwa jẹ́.
26 "Be angry and sin not"; let not the sun go down upon your anger.
Nínú ìbínú yín, ẹ máa ṣe ṣẹ̀, ẹ má ṣe jẹ́ kí oòrùn wọ̀ bá ìbínú yín,
27 Give the devil no place.
bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí ẹ má ṣe fi ààyè ẹ̀gbẹ́ kan fún Èṣù.
28 Let him who stole steal no more, but let him work, and in honest industry toil with his hands, so that he may have something to give to the needy.
Kí ẹni tí ń jalè má ṣe jalè mọ́: ṣùgbọ́n kí ó kúkú máa ṣe làálàá, kí ó máa fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ ṣiṣẹ́ ohun tí ó dára, kí òun lè ní láti pín fún ẹni tí ó ṣe aláìní.
29 From your lips let no evil words come forth, but such as occasion warrants, such as are good for upbuilding and give a blessing to the hearers.
Ẹ má ṣe jẹ́ kí ọ̀rọ̀ ìdíbàjẹ́ kan ti ẹnu yín jáde, ṣùgbọ́n irú èyí tí ó lè ràn ìdàgbàsókè wọn lọ́wọ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ohun tí wọ́n nílò, kí ó lè máa fi oore-ọ̀fẹ́ fún àwọn tí ń gbọ́.
30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you have been sealed for the day of redemption.
Ẹ má sì ṣe mú Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ Ọlọ́run bínú, ẹni tí a fi ṣe èdìdì yín dé ọjọ́ ìdáǹdè.
31 Banish from among you all bitterness and passion and anger and clamor and slander, as well as all malice;
Gbogbo ìwà kíkorò àti ìbínú, àti ìrunú, àti ariwo, àti ọ̀rọ̀ búburú ni kí a mú kúrò lọ́dọ̀ yín, pẹ̀lú gbogbo àrankàn.
32 and be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Ẹ máa ṣoore fún ọmọnìkejì yín, ẹ ní ìyọ́nú, ẹ máa dáríjì ara yín, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ọlọ́run nínú Kristi ti dáríjì yín.
