Acts 9
1 Meanwhile Saul, still breathing out threats of murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
१शौल यरूशलेम शहरामध्ये प्रभूच्या अनुयायांना अजूनही धमकावण्याचा व जिवे मारण्याचा प्रयत्न करीत होता, म्हणून तो महायाजकाकडे गेला.
2 and begged of him letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any that were of the Way, either men or women, he could bind them and bring them to Jerusalem.
२शौलाने दिमिष्क येथील सभास्थानातील महायाजकाकडून ख्रिस्ताच्या अनुयायांना पकडण्यासाठी अशी अधिकारपत्रे मागितली की, जर त्यास तेथे कोणी ‘तो मार्ग’ अनुसरणारा, मग तो पुरूष असो अथवा स्त्री, सापडले तर त्याने त्यांना बांधून यरूशलेम शहरास आणावे.
3 And as he journeyed, when he was approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed round him.
३मग शौल दिमिष्काजवळ आला तेव्हा एकाएकी, आकाशातून फारच प्रखर प्रकाश त्याच्याभोवती चमकला;
4 He fell to the ground, and heard a voice which said to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?"
४शौल जमिनीवर पडला आणि एक वाणी त्याच्याशी बोलताना त्याने ऐकली, “शौला, शौला, तू माझा छळ का करतोस?”
5 And he said, "Who are you Lord?"
५शौल म्हणाला, “प्रभू तू कोण आहेस?” ती वाणी म्हणाली, “मी येशू आहे, ज्याचा तू छळ करीत आहेस तो मीच आहे;
6 "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he said. "Stand up and go into the city, and there you shall be told what you must do."
६आता ऊठ, आणि नगरात जा, तुला काय करायचे आहे, ते तुला तेथे कोणीतरी सांगेल.”
7 Meanwhile the men who were his fellow travelers stood speechless, hearing indeed the voice, but beholding no one.
७जी माणसे शौलाबोबर प्रवास करीत होती, ती तेथेच स्तब्ध उभी राहिली त्या लोकांनी आवाज ऐकला, पण त्यांना कोणी दिसले नाही.
8 And Saul got up from the ground, but although his eyes were open, he continued to perceive nothing; so they took him by the hand and led him into Damascus.
८शौल जमिनीवरून उठला, त्याने डोळे उघडले, पण त्यास काहीच दिसेना, म्हणून जे लोक त्याच्याबरोबर होते त्यांनी त्याचा हात धरून त्यास दिमिष्क शहरात नेले.
9 And he remained there three days, seeing nothing, and without eating or drinking.
९तीन दिवसांपर्यंत शौलाला काहीच दिसत नव्हते, त्याने काही खाल्ले किंवा प्याले नाही.
10 Now there was in Damascus a disciple named Ananias, and the Lord spoke to him in a vision, saying, "Ananias!" And he answered, "Lo, I am here, Lord."
१०दिमिष्कांमध्ये येशूचा एक शिष्य होता त्याचे नाव हनन्या होते; प्रभू त्याच्याशी एका दृष्टांतात बोलला तो म्हणाला, “हनन्या.” हनन्याने उत्तर दिले, “मी इथे आहे, प्रभू.”
11 And the Lord said to him. "Arise, go into the street named ‘Straight,’ and make inquiries in the house of Judas for a man of Tarsus, one Saul.
११प्रभू हनन्याला म्हणाला, “ऊठ आणि नीट नावाच्या रस्त्यावर जा, तेथे यहूदाचे घर शोध व तार्सस शहराहून आलेल्या शौल नावाच्या व्यक्तीबद्दल विचार सध्या तो तेथे आहे; व प्रार्थना करीत आहे.
12 He is now praying, and has seen a man named Ananias enter and lay his hands on him to restore his sight."
१२शौलाने दृष्टांतात पाहिले की त्यामध्ये हनन्या नावाचा मनुष्य आपल्याकडे आला, असून आपल्यावर हात ठेवत आहे व त्यानंतर त्यास पुन्हा दृष्टी प्राप्त झाली, असे त्यास दिसले.”
13 "But, Lord," said Ananias, "I have heard from many about that man, and how much evil he did to the saints at Jerusalem!
१३परंतु हनन्याने उत्तर दिले, “प्रभू, मी त्या मनुष्याविषयी अनेक लोकांच्या तोंडून ऐकले आहे; यरूशलेम शहरातील तुझ्या संतांशी तो किती वाईट रीतीने वागला हे मी ऐकले आहे.
14 "In this city, too, he has authority from the chief priests to arrest all those who call upon thy name."
१४आणि आता जे तुझ्या नावावर विश्वास ठेवतात अशा लोकांस बांधून नेण्यासाठी मुख्य याजकांकडून अधिकारपत्र घेऊन हा शौल येथे आला आहे.”
15 "Go," answered the Lord, "this man is chosen instrument of mine to bear my name before the nations and their kings, and before the Children of Israel also;
१५परंतु प्रभू म्हणाला, “जा, राजांना आणि परराष्ट्रांना आणि इस्राएलाचे संतान यांच्यासमोर माझे नाव घेऊन जाण्याकरता तो माझे निवडलेले पात्र आहे.
16 "for I am going to show him all he has to suffer for the sake of my name."
१६माझ्या नावाकरीता ज्या गोष्टी त्यास सहन कराव्या लागतील त्या मी त्यास दाखवून देईन,”
17 And so Ananias went and entered into the house, and laying his hands on him, said, "Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, who appeared to you on your journey, has sent me that you may receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit."
१७हनन्या निघाला आणि यहूदाच्या घरी गेला, त्याने शौलाच्या डोक्यावर हात ठेवला आणि म्हटले, “शौल, भाऊ, प्रभू येशूने तुला इकडे येत असता रस्त्यावर दर्शन दिले त्यानेच मला तुझ्याकडे पाठवले, यासाठी की, तुला पुन्हा दृष्टी यावी व तू पवित्र आत्म्याने परिपूर्ण व्हावे.”
18 Instantly something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized.
१८लागलीच खपल्यासारखे काहीतरी शौलाच्या डोळ्यावरून खाली पडले, आणि त्यास पुन्हा दृष्टी आली शौल तेथून उठल्यावर त्याचा बाप्तिस्मा करण्यात आला.
19 Afterward he took food and was strengthened. And he remained for some time with the disciples at Damascus.
१९नंतर त्याने अन्न सेवन केल्यावर त्याच्या अंगात शक्ती आली, शौल काही दिवस दिमिष्क येथील शिष्यांबरोबर राहिला.
20 And he began at once to proclaim in the synagogues Jesus as the Son of God.
२०यानंतर सरळ सभास्थानात जाऊन शौल येशूच्या नावाची घोषणा करू लागला, येशू हा देवाचा पुत्र आहे.
21 His hearers were all astonished, and began to say. "Is not this the very man who in Jerusalem made havoc of those who called upon the Name? Did he not come hither for the express purpose of carrying them all in chains to the high priests?"
२१ज्या लोकांनी शौलाचे बोलणे ऐकले त्या सर्वांना मोठे नवल वाटले ते म्हणाले, “यरूशलेम शहरातील ज्या लोकांचा येशूच्या नावावर विश्वास आहे, त्या सर्वाचा नाश करू पाहणारा हाच नाही काय? तो येशूच्या अनुयायांना अटक करण्यासाठी येथे आला आहे व तो त्यांना यरूशलेम शहरातील मुख्य याजकांसमोर उभे करणार आहे.”
22 But Saul gained more and more influence, and kept putting the Jews who lived in Damascus to confusion by his proof that Jesus was the Christ.
२२परंतु शौल अधिकाधिक सामर्थ्यशाली होत गेला, त्याने हे सिद्ध केले की, येशू हाच ख्रिस्त आहे आणि त्याचे पुरावे इतके सबळ होते. दिमिष्क येथील यहूदी त्याच्याबरोबर वाद घालू शकले नाहीत.
23 And when many days were fulfilled the Jews made a plot to kill Saul;
२३काही दिवसानंतर, यहूदी लोकांनी शौलाला जिवे मारण्याचा कट रचला.
24 but information of their plot was given Saul, and although they kept watch day and night on the gates, in order to make away with him,
२४यहूदी रात्रंदिवस शहराच्या वेशीवर पहारा देत होते व शौलाला पकडण्याची वाट पाहत होते. त्यांना शौलाला ठार मारायचे होते, पण त्यांचा हा बेत शौलास समजला.
25 his disciples took him by night, and let him down over the wall, lowering him in a basket.
२५एके रात्री शौलाने ज्यांना शिक्षण दिले होते अशा काही अनुयायांनी शहरातून जाण्यासाठी शौलाला मदत केली, अनुयायांनी शौलाला एका टोपलीत ठेवले, नंतर त्यांनी टोपली गावकुसावरून रात्रीच्या वेळी खाली सोडली.
26 So he came to Jerusalem, and attempted to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, because they did not believe that he was a disciple.
२६नंतर शौल यरूशलेमे शहरास गेला तेथील विश्वास ठेवणाऱ्यांच्या परिवारात मिसळण्याचा त्याने प्रयत्न केला, पण ते त्यास घाबरत होते, त्यांचा विश्वासच बसत नव्हता, शौल खरोखर येशूचा शिष्य झाला आहे.
27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and told them how Saul had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him; and also how he had preached the Name of the Lord Jesus boldly at Damascus.
२७परंतु बर्णबाने शौलाचा स्वीकार केला व त्यास घेऊन प्रेषितांकडे गेला. बर्णबाने सांगितले की, शौलाने येशूला दिमिष्कच्या रस्त्यावर पाहिले आहे, येशू त्याच्याशी कसा बोलला हेही त्याने सविस्तरणे सांगितले, मग त्याने प्रेषितांना सांगितले की, येशूविषयीची सुवार्ता शौलाने मोठ्या धैर्याने दिमिष्क येथील लोकांस सांगितली.
28 Henceforth Saul was one of them, going in and out of the city, and speaking fearlessly in the Name of the Lord.
२८मग शौल अनुयायांसह तेथे राहिला, तो यरूशलेम शहरामध्ये सगळीकडे गेला. व धैर्याने प्रभूची सुवार्ता सांगू लागला.
29 He also used to hold conversations and debates with the Grecian Jews, but they kept trying to kill him.
२९शौल नेहमी ग्रीक भाषा बोलणाऱ्या यहूदी लोकांशी बोलत असे तो त्यांच्याशी वादविवाद करीत असे, पण ते त्यास मारण्याचा प्रयत्न करीत होते.
30 When they learned this the brothers took him down to Caesarea, and then sent him forth to Tarsus.
३०जेव्हा बंधुजनांना हे कळाले तेव्हा त्यांनी त्यास कैसरीया येथे नेले, व नंतर तेथून त्यास तार्सास पाठवले.
31 Now throughout the whole of Judea, Galilee, and Samaria the Church continued to enjoy peace and to be spiritually built up. It was increasing in members also, as it kept walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
३१अशाप्रकारे सर्व यहूदिया, गालील प्रांत, शोमरोन या प्रदेशातील मंडळीस तेथे शांती लाभली; आणि, मंडळी पवित्र आत्म्याच्या सांत्वनेत व परमेश्वराच्या भयात वाढत गेली.
32 Now Peter, as he was going from town to town, came down also to the saints who lived in Lydda.
३२मग असे झाले की, पेत्र यरूशलेम शहराच्या सभोवतालच्या गावामध्ये फिरला, लोद या गावामध्ये जे देवाचे पवित्रजन होते त्यांना भेटला.
33 Here he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, a paralytic.
३३लोद येथे त्यास ऐनेयास नावाचा मनुष्य आढळला, त्याच्या अंगातून वारे गेल्याने तो पंगू झाला होता व आठ वर्षे अंथरुणाला खिळून होता.
34 Peter said to him. "Aeneas, Jesus Christ cures you! Rise and make your own bed!"
३४पेत्र त्यास म्हणाला, “ऐनेयास, येशू ख्रिस्त तुला बरे करीत आहे; ऊठ, आपले अंथरुण नीट कर.” ऐनेयास ताबडतोब उभा राहिला.
35 At once he rose to his feet. All the people of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.
३५लोद येथे राहणाऱ्या सर्व लोकांनी आणि शारोनात राहणाऱ्यांनी त्यास पाहिले, तेव्हा ते सर्व प्रभूकडे वळले.
36 Among the disciples at Joppa was a woman named Tabitha - which may be translated Dorcas or "Gazelle" - a woman whose life was full of good works and almsgiving, which she was doing continually.
३६यापो शहरात येशूची एक शिष्या राहत होती, तिचे नाव तबिथा होते, (ग्रीक भाषेत तिचे नाव “दुर्कस” होते. त्याचा अर्थ हरीण) ती नेहमी लोकांसाठी चांगली कामे करीत असे गरीबांना दानधर्म करीत असे.
37 She, as it happened, was taken ill just at that time, and died. After washing her body, they laid it in an upper room.
३७जेव्हा पेत्र लोदमध्ये होता, तेव्हा तबिथा आजारी पडली व मरण पावली; लोकांनी तिला आंघोळ घालून व माडीवरच्या एका खोलीत ठेवले.
38 And as Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, when they heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him with the entreaty, "Delay not to come to us."
३८यापो येथील शिष्यांनी ऐकले की, पेत्र लोदमध्ये आहे, लोद हे यापोजवळ आहे, म्हणून त्यांनी दोन माणसे पाठविली, त्यांनी त्यास विनंती केली, ते म्हणाले, “त्वरा करा, आमच्याकडे लवकर या.”
39 So Peter arose and went with them. On his arrival they took him up- stairs, and all the widows stood near him, weeping, and showing him the cloaks and garments which Dorcas used to make, while she was still with them.
३९पेत्र तयार झाला व त्यांच्याबरोबर गेला, जेव्हा तो तेथे पोहोचला तेव्हा त्यांनी त्यास माडीवरच्या एका खोलीत नेले, सर्व विधवा स्त्रिया पेत्राभोवती उभ्या राहिल्या, त्या रडत होत्या, दुर्कस जिवंत असताना जे कपडे व झगे तिने तयार केले होते ते त्यांनी पेत्राला दाखवले.
40 But Peter put them all out, and kneeled down, and prayed; and then turning to the body, he said, "Tabitha, rise!" She opened her eyes, and on seeing Peter she sat up.
४०पेत्राने खोलीतील सर्वांना बाहेर काढले त्याने गुडघे टेकून प्रार्थना केली आणि दुर्कसच्या शरीराकडे वळून तो म्हणाला, “तबिथा ऊठ” तेव्हा तिने डोळे उघडले, जेव्हा तिने पेत्राला पाहीले तेव्हा ती उठून बसली.
41 Then he gave her his hand and raised her up, and after calling the saints and the widows, he gave her back to them alive.
४१त्याने तिला आपला हात देऊन उभे राहण्यास मदत केली, नंतर त्याने पवित्रजनांना आणि विधवा स्त्रियांना खोलीमध्ये बोलावले, त्याने तबिथाला त्यांना दाखवले, ती जिवंत होती.
42 This incident became known throughout Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.
४२यापोमधील सर्व लोकांस हे समजले, यातील पुष्कळ लोकांनी प्रभूवर विश्वास ठेवला.
43 Peter stayed for some time in Joppa, lodging in the house of Simon, the tanner.
४३नंतर असे झाले की, तो यापोत शिमोन नावाच्या कोणाएका कातडे कमावणाऱ्या चांभाराच्या येथे बरेच दिवस राहीला.
