Acts 20
1 After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples and, after embracing them, bade them farewell, and started for Macedonia.
೧ಗದ್ದಲವು ನಿಂತ ತರುವಾಯ ಪೌಲನು ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಧೈರ್ಯಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟನು.
2 And when he had passed through those districts and encouraged the disciples in many addresses, he came into Greece where he spent three months.
೨ಆ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚಾರಮಾಡಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯವರನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ಸಂದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ಧೈರ್ಯಪಡಿಸಿ ಗ್ರೀಸ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.
3 Just as he was about to set sail for Syria, the Jews laid a plot against him, and he determined to return through Macedonia.
೩ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಕಳೆದ ನಂತರ ಸಿರಿಯ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮುದ್ರಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಒಳಸಂಚುಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದು ಬಂದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದನು.
4 There accompanied him as far as Asia, Sopater of Berea, the son of Pyrrhus; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and the Asians, Tychicus and Trophimus.
೪ಪುರ್ರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆರೋಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸೋಪತ್ರನೂ, ಥೆಸಲೋನಿಕದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಿಸ್ತಾರ್ಕನೂ, ಸೆಕುಂದನೂ ದೆರ್ಬೆಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಗಾಯನೂ, ತಿಮೊಥೆಯನೂ, ಆಸ್ಯಸೀಮೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ತುಖಿಕನೂ, ತ್ರೊಫಿಮನೂ, ಆಸ್ಯಸೀಮೆಯ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದರು.
5 Now these had gone on, and were awaiting us at Troas;
೫ಅವರು ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ತ್ರೋವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು
6 but we ourselves set sail from Philippi, after the days of unleavened bread, and joined them five days later at Troas. There we remained for a week.
೬ಹುಳಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ಹಬ್ಬದ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾವು ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಐದು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತ್ರೋವದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದೆವು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ತಂಗಿದ್ದೆವು.
7 On the first day of the week we met for the breaking of bread, and Paul, who was going away the next morning, began preaching to them, and prolonged his discourse until midnight.
೭ವಾರದ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಮುರಿಯುವ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿಬಂದಾಗ ಪೌಲನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರೆದಂತಹ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೋಧನೆಮಾಡಿದನು. ಮರುದಿನ ಹೊರಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದ ಪೌಲನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಮಧ್ಯರಾತ್ರಿಯವರೆಗೂ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದನು.
8 Now there were many lamps in the upper room where we were assembled,
೮ನಾವು ಕೂಡಿದ್ದ ಮೇಲಂತಸ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ದೀಪಗಳಿದ್ದವು.
9 and a young man named Eutychus was sitting in a window, overborne by deep sleep, while Paul continued to preach at length. Overcome at last by sleep, he fell down from the third story, and was taken up dead.
೯ಯೂತಿಖನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನು ಕಿಟಿಕಿಯ ಹೊಸ್ತಿಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಗಾಢನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ತೂಕಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಪೌಲನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ಆ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನು ಗಾಢವಾದ ನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ತೂಕಡಿಸಿ ಮೂರನೆಯ ಅಂತಸ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಕೆಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದುಬಿಟ್ಟನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲು ಹೋದಾಗ ಅವನು ಸತ್ತುಹೋಗಿದ್ದನು.
10 Then Paul went down, threw himself upon him, and embracing him, said. "Do not lament; his life is still in him."
೧೦ಆದರೆ ಪೌಲನು ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ತಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡು; “ಗೋಳಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಅವನು ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
11 Then he went upstairs again, broke bread and took some food, and after talking with them a long time, even until daybreak, he left them.
೧೧ಆಗ ಅವನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಮುರಿದು ಊಟಮಾಡಿ ಬಹಳ ಹೊತ್ತು ಬೆಳಗಾಗುವ ತನಕ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
12 They had taken the lad home alive, and were not a little comforted.
೧೨ಅವರು ಜೀವಿತನಾದ ಆ ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಯಿತು.
13 The rest of us going before to the ship, set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul on board there; for so he had appointed, because he intended to go by land.
೧೩ನಾವು ಮೊದಲೇ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಸ್ಸೊಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಮುದ್ರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿದೆವು. ಪೌಲನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಮಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿ ತಾನು ಕಾಲುನಡಿಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನು.
14 And when he met us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.
೧೪ಅಸ್ಸೊಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ನಾವು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಡಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಿತಿಲೇನೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟೆವು.
15 We sailed from thence, and arrived next day off Chios; and the day after we touched at Samos; and the following day we came to Mitylene.
೧೫ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಮರುದಿನ ಖೀಯೊಸ್‍ ದ್ವೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಅದರ ಮರುದಿನ ಸಾಮೊಸಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದೆವು. ಮರುದಿನ ಮಿಲೇತಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದೆವು.
16 For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, so as not to spend time in Asia, for he was hurrying to get to Jerusalem, if it were possible, by the day of Pentecost.
೧೬ಪೌಲನು ತನಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದರೆ ಪಂಚಾಶತ್ತಮ ದಿನದ ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವಸರಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಆಸ್ಯಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಫೆಸ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ದಾಟಿಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
17 From Miletus he sent to Ephesus for the elders of the church to come to him;
೧೭ಅವನು ಮಿಲೇತದಿಂದ ಎಫೆಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೇಳಿಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ಸಭೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ಕರಿಸಿದನು.
18 and when they arrived, he said to them. "You yourselves know quite well, how I lived among you, from the first day that I set foot in Asia,
೧೮ಅವರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅವನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ; “ನಾನು ಆಸ್ಯಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿನದಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೇಗೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡೆನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ.
19 "serving the Lord with all lowliness of mind, and with tears, and amid trials that befell me through the plots of the Jews.
೧೯ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಒಳಸಂಚುಗಳಿಂದ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾನು ಅತಿ ನಮ್ರತೆಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
20 "You know that I never shrank from declaring to you anything that was profitable, nor from teaching you publicity and in your homes,
೨೦ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹಿತಕರವಾದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಮನೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಉಪದೇಶಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಹಿಂತೆಗೆಯದೆ
21 testifying both to Jews and Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
೨೧ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೂ, ಗ್ರೀಕರಿಗೂ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂತಲೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಡಬೇಕೆಂತಲೂ ದೃಢವಾಗಿ ಬೋಧಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು, ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಗೇ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ.
22 And now I am going to Jerusalem, bound in the Spirit, not knowing what will befall me there,
೨೨ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಈಗ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಏನು ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದೋ ನಾನರಿಯೆನು.
23 except that in city after city the Holy Spirit is warning me that bonds and afflictions are awaiting me.
೨೩ನಿನಗೆ ಬೇಡಿಗಳೂ, ಹಿಂಸೆಗಳೂ ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನನಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು.
24 But I hold not my life of any account, as dear unto myself, if only I may run my race, and accomplish the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to attest the gospel of the grace of God.
೨೪ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಎಣಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ದೇವರ ಕೃಪೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾದ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ಸಾರುವ ನಿಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನಿಂದ ನಾನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಈ ನಿಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸುವುದೊಂದೇ ನನ್ನ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
25 And now I know that not one of you among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, will ever see my face again.
೨೫ಇಗೋ, ಇಷ್ಟು ದಿನ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚಾರಮಾಡಿ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರೂ ನೋಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು.
26 So I testify to you this day that I am clear from the blood of all men;
೨೬ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನಾಶವಾದರೆ ಅದು ನನ್ನ ತಪ್ಪಿನಿಂದಲ್ಲ.
27 I never shrank from telling you the whole counsel of God.
೨೭ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ಮರೆಮಾಡದೆ ದೇವರ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
28 Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you overseers, and be shepherds of the church of God which he has purchased with his own blood.
೨೮ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ರಕ್ತದಿಂದ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ದೇವರ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಪಾಲಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನೇ ಆ ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಇಟ್ಟಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಿಂಡಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರಿ.
29 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come among you, and they will not spare the flock;
೨೯ನಾನು ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ರೂರವಾದ ತೋಳಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಬರುವುದೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ಅವು ಹಿಂಡನ್ನು ಕನಿಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
30 and that from among your own number, men will arise, perverting the truth, to draw away the disciples after them.
೩೦ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲೇ ಕೆಲವರು ಎದ್ದು ಅಸತ್ಯವಾದ ಬೋಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.
31 So be on guard; and remember that for three years I ceased not to admonish you all, night and day, even with tears.
೩೧ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾನು ಕಣ್ಣೀರು ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷ ಹಗಲಿರುಳು ಎಡೆಬಿಡದೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿರಿ.
32 "And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace. He is able to build you up, and to give you your inheritance among all those who are consecrated.
೩೨ನಾನೀಗ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೂ, ಆತನ ಕೃಪಾವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಕ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
33 "No man’s silver or gold of clothing did I ever covet.
೩೩ನಾನು ಯಾರ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಉಡಿಗೆತೊಡಿಗೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಬಯಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
34 "You yourselves know how these hands of mine provided for my needs, and those of my companions.
೩೪ಈ ಕೈಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡಿ, ನನ್ನ ಕೊರತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರ ಕೊರತೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಗಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ.
35 "In all things I have set you an example, how that so toiling, you ought to help the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
೩೫ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾದರಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನೀವು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದುಡಿದು ಬಲವಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೆ ಉಪಕಾರಮಾಡಬೇಕು; ಮತ್ತು; ‘ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಕೊಡುವುದೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಭಾಗ್ಯವೆಂಬುದಾಗಿ’ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ತಾನೇ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರಬೇಕು” ಅಂದನು.
36 When he had so said, Paul kneeled down, and prayed with them.
೩೬ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಸಂಗಡ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡಿದನು.
37 And they all began, with loud lamentations, to throw their arms about his neck, and to kiss him lovingly, again and again,
೩೭ಬಳಿಕ ಪೌಲನು; “ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೆಂದೂ ಕಾಣಲಾರಿರಿ” ಅನ್ನಲು, ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ವ್ಯಥೆಪಟ್ಟು, ದುಃಖದಿಂದ ಅಳುತ್ತಾ, ಅವನ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ತಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟರು.
38 sorrowing most of all for the words that he had spoken, that after that day they should look upon his face no more. And they began to escort him to the ship.
೩೮ತರುವಾಯ ಅವರು ಹಡಗಿನವರೆಗೆ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
